🐐 Island Dive & Snorkel! 🤿 Big shoutout to Isaac and Sky, they were awesome. Super professional, friendly and really looked after everyone in the group, which made the whole trip feel easy and well organised. Loved that you can keep the snorkelling gear until 5pm, so there’s no rushing back and you can just enjoy the water at your own pace. The water was beautiful, and even though the weather was a bit moody, I actually loved it, added to the whole vibe of the day. Overall, a really fun and well-run experience. Would happily do this again and definitely recommend it! 🤌

I booked a spot on the beginner guided snorkel, only a few days before on a week day in February and there weren't many spots left. I arrived at the centre and was greeted by a friendly, professional member of staff who got me my kit and sent me to the beach. Naia was waiting for us and gave us an informative and very enthusiastic talk about the animals we might see, as well as a clear explanation about the kit. She looked after the group which included some excited children and still managed to point out fish and rays. She even showed us how to duck dive! It makes a huge difference to the experience having someone who is genuinely passionate about the marine life, thanks Naia

This is just my second time in life doing snorkeling. I was quite afraid in the beginning, but after my coach Tiff’s cautious care and guide, I finally being able to watch a bit of the world under water! Really appreciate everyone I met today with Goat Island Dive & Snorkel!

Very helpful with advice about best snorkeling places given that day's conditions. We were hoping for Goat Island reserve but that was just too windy and rough but Mathesons beach was calm and full of fab things to see. Picked us out the right gear first time and we were off!

We had the truly delightful Paul and Skye for our boat tour. They were professional, funny, exceptionally knowledgable, and truly did everything to make our outing a really special pre-birthday treat for our daughter. The Oreos were second in terms of highlight, only after the eagle rays, stingray and crayfish spotting. Thanks to Skye for taking us into the caves, answering all our fish questions, checking on everyone throughout the session, and generally being awesome. Thanks to Paul for putting on great weather and being a top notch captain. Definitely recommend this if you get a chance, it is fantastic!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing First Snorkeling Experience with Sky! Sky was absolutely awesome! It was my first time snorkeling and I was a little nervous, but she made the whole experience incredibly easy and comfortable. She guided us with so much patience and confidence — without her, it truly wouldn’t have been possible. Sky explained everything clearly, stayed close to make sure we were safe, and encouraged us the whole time. Thanks to her, we enjoyed every moment and felt completely relaxed in the water. I’m so grateful for her help and support. Highly recommended! 🌊🤿

Such a great team! The staff and our guide were really lovely and the gear we were given was really good quality and well maintained. The visibility was low on the day we went, but we still had a great time regardless. Definitely recommend taking a guided trip so you know where to go and don't get caught up in any tricky currents, which I'm sure we would have without a guide.

Highly recommend! I did a Boat Dive with these guys & had the most amazing time ♡ Im still new to diving so was full of questions & enthusiasm, but they matched me every time & came away more confident as a result. 45mins from Akl so can be done by lunch / the price is so good / great bunch people / the location / the equipment ... honestly so many things to rave about. I'll definitely be back! The perfect way to keep building on skills & getting out there. Thank you again!!!

We were heading out for a snorkel at Goat Island Marine Reserve. Mask - check. Flippers - check. Wetsuit? Oops... I could have manned up and just battled the cold, but decided instead to drop in at Goat Island Dive and see if I could hire a wetsuit. Of course I could! They were friendly and efficient. Within minutes I was zipped up and for $15 I had the suit for the day. Little sis started chatting to them about doing her Padi. While I slowly melted in the corner, she was given loads of info and advice about their up-coming courses. She got so excited that she booked then and there. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you have any questions about snorkeling or diving before heading to Goat Island, it's a good place to stop.

Goat Island Marine Reserve is an absolute diving mecca, so on a good day up there you'll find many hundreds of people of all ages in wet suits and snorkels checking out/marvelling at the local marine life. While some of these folk are pretty hardcore and have their own stuff, you can bet that a fair chunk of them have hired their gear from Goat Island Dive, a snorkel shop which is set up a few minutes up the road from the reserve itself. They have everything you need for a good day in the water, and are full of helpful tips and hints on where to go and what to do - it couldn't be easier. Apparently they also do guided tours out to the outer Gulf which I'm yet to try - certainly on my list of things to do though!
