Visited part of the vast desert and tried climbing up to the top of a pretty high sand dune. Unfortunately, couldn't make it all the way to the top. But allover it'd beautiful place with lof of mountains and rare animals like snow leopards and bactrian camels, I enjoyed a lot with local people.

Love the nothingness! -- I have heard of Gobi Desert when I was little, but had no idea what was really like, till recently we had the chance....

Gobi desert series. Located in southern Mongolia, it's known for its elegant shaped dunes, mountains and rare animals such as snow leopards and Bactrian camels. I just enjoyed spending nights with local nomads at the campfire listening for their stories.

Traveled through here with a guide from "Wind of Mongolia". Had the most amazing time here rolling around in the sand, not having a shower for a week. You can only imagine the relief, after I finally had one. Sand gets everywhere...

We enjoyed our quick stop in the Gobi Desert. The hike up was intense but well worth the views. Bring water as it gets very hot during the day. They had a store selling drinks and ice cream at the parking lot. Getting there driving dirt roads for 150KM was a bit crazy and not normal, but well worth the effort.
