We really enjoyed Goblin Hill. It’s in a beautiful location to say the least. The grounds are gorgeous and the views are breathtaking! Mango trees with fruit are all around and there are so many birds to hear! The resort feels very comfortable and relaxing. The food was delicious too!

It is with mixed feelings that we write this review. It was a property we were so looking forward to spending our 14 nights of pure relaxation. We booked a superior two bedroomed ocean view villa, which actually appears to be their only 2 bedroomed villa of this kind on the property with this panoramic view!|Sadly the reality of this accommodation was sky light seeping through the roofs of the bedrooms upstairs, which in heavy rainfall drips of water came through. There was no Internet reaching this ( there best villa) until the 5th day of our stay. Pretty much every other day there was a water problem, no water to shower or flush the toilet, on some occasions when there was water it was cold. The pool area needed a good jet wash and the hammocks and sun beds needed to be cleaned. We could not use the pool area for these very reasons. A couple of electric outages, though these were short lived. The San San beach that is advertised open at weekends only, is a bit of a walk down the back of the property , out onto the street across a major road and a further walk, eventually on arrival you will find it is not worth the journey. Goblin Hill’s garden areas were well kept, and if you pay for an ocean view villa, it will keep you sane as you battle through everything else this property lacks. Despite the lovely staff trying to remedy these issues mentioned, sadly Goblin Hill does not a appear to be a property that is loved by its owners, this is plain to see. We would recommend spending your hard earned cash at other establishments in the area that are well kept and until such time when Goblin Hill villas can manage to maintain the basic amenities and up keep to reclaim its place in the travellers market. To Note: all service shortfalls experienced were reported to the establishment reception on each occasion they occurred. We stayed 8-21 Feb’25, and there was very, very low occupancy during the time of our 14 nights stay.

We just had the best time for a family member's 60th birthday trip to Portland and stayed at Goblin Hill. The property is beautifully landscaped and the views are amazing! Dravane at the front desk arranged for massages onsite for the group which were done on the terraces overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Breakfast each morning on the Hummingbird Terrace was delicious with Andrea doing an excellent job with serving. She was very attentive to our needs especially since we were a group of 8. We enjoyed tennis and the pool and the property is located within driving distance to the attractions in Port Antonio and the surrounding area. Angela who greeted us upon arrival and departure, was very friendly and ensured that all was well during our stay. Their Guest Info Booklet clearly states that this is not an all inclusive property and all meals are prepared at the restaurant on request at a reasonable cost. Every staff member we came across was friendly and polite and made us feel welcome. If you are looking for a place to chill and relax and enjoy amazing views and a family friendly environment this is the place to stay!

Staying at the Goblin Hill Villas was so disappointing that I can only recommend staying away and booking vacation somewhere else. The biggest issue for me was the safety at the property, but there are so many other things that also must be improved. The same afternoon my friend Danijela and I arrived I had an accident, I hit the large transparent glass doors to the terrace with my head and blacked out on the floor immediately. That’s when we started to discover all the security faults. That was the only large glass door on the property that didn’t have safety stickers. Despite my accident the stickers weren’t applied back in the next 3 days of our stay there although it was promised that some technical support will come first thing in the morning. No Health and safety protocol were implemented after my hit and fall, the staff didn’t react at all other than with shock. I had to request ice so I can make ice compress and keep it during the night on my face and nose. Again, the staff should have referred me to the designated medical institution for a check, as per regulations in Jamaica. But it was my friend Danijela who took me to the doctor she found in Port Antonio the next morning, where I had a check and got a therapy. From that point on our whole vacation was ruined, I had to take heavy medication and apply ice compress on my face every 2 hours for the next week. After all this, the staff didn’t show any interest or regret for the accident blaming us for not adjusting the curtains in their villa the moment we arrived. That for sure would be the task of the staff, no guest anywhere in the world should be adjusting their accommodation to become safe on their arrival to the property. The receptionist continued to be rude and ignorant and only talking about the balance, although we already paid half and didn’t plan to leave without paying the rest. It’s just that at the time we had other priorities like my health condition. After 3rd night she came with the Security person and kicked us out of the property, just handing us the letter and later hiding from us and avoiding any conversation. More issues we discovered during our short stay that should be fixed to secure safe and healthy environment for the guests. The water is not for drinking or washing, it was yellow on several occasions. There were electrical outlets completely unprotected from the humidity on the terrace. Both windows and terrace doors were not able to close or lock. Coffee maker severely burned and dangerous to use. Table lamps are outdated with metal switch without electric shock protection, no way that is approved for public use (please note that this is a family friendly place where many children come too). Table on the terrace was unstable, very dangerous to lean on even slightly. The metal stairs leading to the apartment on the 1st floor were very steep and rusty, For more than 300$ per night Villas, it’s also unacceptable that you can’t get any water, coffee or food if you don’t request it at least 24 hours ahead. Word complimentary was not in use there at all. Very ignorant since there is no shop or restaurant miles away from the Villas. The bar was always empty, very hard to find any staff if you need anything. I really regret booking Goblin Hill Villas at all.

Be willing to immerse yourself into the lush foilage and your soul will be at peace with the calm bay views and comforts that lull you into a relaxation you won't want to leave. We are still smiling thanks to all the team, AJ at reception, Mr Cargill, Mr Paul the landscaper and all the dining room we had a wonderful holiday. The Manager, Angela and team went all out for our birthday surprises and further cemented Portland in our hearts, now we can't say thank you enough for the experience 🙏💗🙏. See you soon

Our normal stay in Jamaica is usually with a hotel chain….until this past week. Goblin Villas was such a breathtaking surprise and will have us rethink our future vacation bookings. Our only discomfort was the occasional presence of small lizards within the villas; but this is a tropical environment so they come with the territory, literally. But, aside from these little distractions, Goblin Hill was a total joy and we’ll be return guests. The property was immaculate and the staff was very professional, catering and friendly. Kudos to Angela, Nina, Andrea, Noel, Ajai and Roy for making our stay a pleasant and memorable one. GP

This is a prime location for bird watchers, with many species right around the resort. I really appreciated the very helpful staff, especially the manager, Angela, who went to great lengths to provide help when I needed minor medical assistance. The food was varied, delicious and prepared with care. The grounds were well maintained, the rooms spacious and the beds very comfortable.

I recently stayed at Goblin Hill Villas with my friend, Mihaela and our experience was nothing but disappointing. After a brutal six-hour drive from Negril, we arrived around 6 PM, hoping to unwind and eat some dinner. Upon arrival, the daughter of the receptionist escorted us to our one-bedroom apartment and took us to the terrace to enjoy the view. However, it was dark outside, and the glass doors leading to the terrace were left slightly open—about 40 cm. ||||When we attempted to exit to the terrace, we could not see the glass doors at all because they were transparent and lacked safety stickers. Unfortunately, my friend hit her head on the glass door and immediately blacked out on the floor. The receptionist's daughter and the security personnel merely stood in shock, failing to offer any assistance or warn us about the hazard.||||We were fortunate to find ice in the freezer, though we had to request it. Mihaela was in extreme pain, unsure whether her nose was broken. Rather than recommending urgent medical attention, the receptionist’s daughter suggested we enjoy a culinary experience at a nearby restaurant—an absurd suggestion, given my friend's condition.||||The next morning, no one checked in on us, so we chose to seek medical attention in Port Antonio, which wasted our time since we had hoped to relax on the beach after our long journey. On our way out, we encountered the manager—a woman with long dreadlocks—who callously stated that our injury was our fault for not adjusting the curtains better. She did not even inquire about my friend's well-being, focusing solely on our payment balance—a shocking lack of customer care.||||Despite having safety stickers on other glass doors, none were placed on the door we had encountered. This is a serious health and safety breach on the hotel's part, and it reflects a blatant disregard for guest safety. For $300 a night, one would expect better. There was no offer to call a doctor, nor was there any follow-up to check on Mihaela’s condition; they seemed solely interested in collecting money.||||After three nights, the receptionist and security staff forced us to leave without any apology or acknowledgment of our distress. We noticed the manager literally hiding in her office to avoid confronting us.||||Additionally, I must mention several other issues: guests are only given one bottle of water upon arrival; after that, you must purchase your own—something I've never encountered at a $300 per night hotel. The kitchen was old and rusty, with pots, pans, and a cooker that appeared to be decades old. There was no complimentary coffee or tea, and the so-called restaurant was rarely open, requiring pre-orders a day in advance.||||There is no food on premises whatsoever unless you order in advance. It’s highly inconvenient if you don’t drive and you can’t walk anywhere to grab a snack if hungry. ||||The pictures online are misleading—the views are nice, but apart from that, the entire property feels rundown and in desperate need of refurbishment. We experienced yellow water coming from the shower, unsafe socket outlets, and being in the middle of nowhere meant driving into town for basic supplies.||||Overall, this has been the most terrible hospitality experience I have ever had during my travels. I strongly recommend avoiding Goblin Hill Villas. You deserve a place that prioritizes guest safety, comfort, and service.
