I booked the Electric Canal Cruise via GetYourGuide, and overall, it was good value for money, with a few important things to note.
The check-in process was smooth and well-organized. Upon arrival, my name was taken was and I was directed to the hot drinks station. I grabbed a tea, which I was allowed to bring onto the boat — a nice touch, especially in cooler weather.
This experience is a shared cruise by default, unless you specifically choose the option to rent the boat privately. The shared format includes a live tour guide, who also steers the boat. The electric boat itself is quiet and smooth, which makes for a calm ride through Copenhagen’s canals.
Unfortunately, the biggest drawback — and a significant one — was the audio experience.
The tour guide spoke softly, almost as if she were having a private conversation with the two guests seated directly in front of her. There was no effort to project her voice or ensure the entire boat could hear the commentary. As a result, much of the narration was difficult to follow or missed entirely.
It wasn’t just me — I could tell that at least two other guests were also visibly frustrated, straining to listen and constantly looking toward the guide in an attempt to catch what was being said. For a guided tour, this noticeably took away from the experience.
Despite the audio issue, the cruise itself was still pleasant and relaxing.
