I can definitely recommend sailing with GoBoat if you want to avoid the tourist crowds when sailing around Copenhagen. The boats are electric so no noise and you can drive them yourself. They have some routes you can follow depending on how long you plan to sail and in a sunny day it is just perfect. You can take your own food/drinks and just chill. We were lucky with the wind, so maybe just consider that when you book, it can make a big difference since there is limited speed when you drive it yourself. I will definitely do it again :)

We loved our go boat experience, very friendly staff and very easy who explained everything. It was straight forward to steer and navigate and felt lovely being independent. Such a special thing how much the water is used in Copenhagen and how respectful people are on the water.

Really a must do while in Copenhagen. You can rent a small boat and bring food/drinks onboard. You don’t need to be an experienced sailer or have any sort of license. The speed of the electric motor is pretty slow so you can go slowly. We did the basic boat and that was great, but if you want you can upgrade to a faster boat too. We did the 2h boat ride and for the proposed route it allowed us to go through some famous canals and go through the main one to admire the vibrant modern and traditional architecture of Copenhagen.

amazing thing to do in order to visit the city under a new angle. the canals you can take offer a beautiful view on the buildings and on the area, with 1h ride you can see a lot of attractions. the instructions to ride the boat and for the path were clear and understandable. you also can order a basket filled with drinks and/or snacks, we personally took drinks and it was worth it ! the personal is really friendly, they play nice music on the dock. and they are dog friendly !

Great experience, this was the activity we were thrilled to do. We reserved a boat for one hour online, booking is easy. You can either take your own food or can reserve a picnic basket with them. Prices are really affordable and service was top notch. It was short but super great to explore via the canals.

What a great way to see the city! It was a blast ducking through the canals and soaking in the beautiful views and atmosphere of Copenhagen! Would definitely recommend and will 1000% be back!

Spur of the moment decision on a gorgeous day to rent a boat to cruise around the canals! Great way to see the water side of Copenhagen .. fabulous! The staff was terrific and got the two of us situated in our own electric boat. Boat could probably hold 5-6 comfortably. With table & drink holders in the middle. Unfortunately we got a very “ slow” boat which honestly was fine but we had to be towed back to the dock eventually as we had exceeded our two hour limit per their route they had suggested. If it had started raining, this would not have been comfortable without a top. The boat was comfortable for me the passenger but as the tiller ( steering mechanism) was so short it was not that comfortable for the captain ( my son) to steer for two hours.. no clue why they don’t have an extension on the tiller to make it more comfortable for the captain. We did spy the “competitors” boat rental and their boats had an actual steering wheel with dedicated seat which would have been way more comfortable but GoBoats was close to our hotel so we went with their company. We were surprised that there did not appear to be any life jackets nor mention of them? All in all.. very fun experience and would recommend

It was a nice 2 hour trip around the waterways in Copenhagen. Nice way to see the city and enjoy the afternoon with a group of friends.

Honestly, I don't think we'll ever do a guided boat tour again, because this was so much better! We absolutely loved putting around the water on our own in these delightful little solar powered boats. A local friend recommended we try it, since she said Copenhagen is a city meant to be seen from the water, and she was absolutely right. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this.

We were excited for this activity but went away angry and feeling ripped off. Actually feel like we were robbed twice. You can never be sure of the weather in Copenhagen and it was supposed to be sunny but wound up raining and cold. We asked for a refund and they said they don't give refunds even if it's raining. Had we known that we wouldn't have bought tickets in advance which you have to do if you want to get a boat on most days. How can you refuse refunds for boat rides that won't be bought by anyone else because it's raining? The first theft! We were told that they were watching the weather and the rain would stop in about 20 minutes but it never did. It got lighter for a short while and we saw other people with ponchos coming back. We'd spent almost $300 on the trip so rather than lose the money we decided to go out thinking the rain would let up, it didn't. So we asked for 3 of the ponchos we saw other people wearing. They said sure and pulled out three tiny packets of the thinnest cheapest plastic ponchos that didn't go past your butt and THEY CHARGED US $6 FOR EACH ONE!! The second theft! Talk about adding insult to injury these scumbags capitalize further on their non refundable boat rides by charging you more money for what is essentially the thinnest cheapest plastic garbage bags with a hole on the end and a hood that doesn't cover your head. Guarantee you these ponchos cost them about 30 cents a piece yet they charge the ridiculous sum. At the very least if you won't refund my money give me the crappy plastic poncho for free. Absolute scumbag move. On top of all that they hardly give you any instructions except forward, reverse and then tell you that if you hold the rudder slightly wrong the whole thing will pop out of the mechanism which it did multiple times when we were underway. Horribly unsafe. I can't believe this place has decent reviews on here or that it's still open. If you insist on going just please don't book in advance or you'll quite possibly have an experience as bad or worse than ours. And also if you want a better trip don't use a boat with hand rudder. They have other boats with steering wheels which are probably better but I bet if you turn them to far to the right the whole helm collapses! Thanks for ruining one of our 7 days in Copenhagen go boat! Hope you go out of business soon!

We had the best time and the most perfect way to experience Copenhagen on our first evening here.

Nice way to rent a boat in Copenhagen and tour the canals, but wayyy too slow. There are other boat rental companies with faster boats. In an hour you can't really see anything.

Really unfortunate and disappointing experience. We were late for our reservation, totally our fault- granted- but, they took forever even finding the reservation, (25 minutes!!!!) and when we asked if maybe we could use our reservation for anytime in the next few hours we were told the manager said, "no, and we are fully booked." When checking online, they had multiple openings within the evening. Instead, they would rather make the customer be punished for the company "losing money" for our "serious mistake..." These are their words. BUMMER.

We had already taken an awesome intimate guided boat tour - and then saw these babies! People picnicking and drinking wine on these boats?? Ummm sign me up! After exploring the area by foot AND taking a small guided boat tour, we were already familiar with the canal and the area. We stopped at a supermarket, picked up some beers and food, and headed right to the kiosk. I was pleased to see that they offered some wines, snacks, and beverages right when you rent the boat, so I grabbed a bottle of rosé. They have one, two and three hour options - the two hour was plenty of time. The staff were great at explaining the best route we should take, what to do, and what not to do. The boat itself was super easy to use, even though I think our boat was a bit slower than some of the others in the fleet. We enjoyed sailing by all the cool buildings we saw on tour but getting a bit closer, and being able to stop for pictures. I happily snacked away as I waved to locals people watching. I think this boat company is a great value for the price and an unforgettable experience. Note that the boats can fit up to 8 people, so bring some friends!

What a great idea! This was fantastic, especially on sunny day like it was last weekend. Book in advance as they're super popular! It was 400 DKK for 1 hour so if you have about 8-10 people, you'll will fit snuggly in one. It's super easy to manoeuvre and you get a map of suggested routes depending on how much time you have. For 1 hour, you can go around the Christiansborg Slot, up and eastwards and under the new Inderhavnbroen, and loop back around passing Noma and under some cute bridges. The boats were clean and there were life jackets on board. The service by the staff was great, the process of booking was easy and the whole experience was totally unique to Copenhagen! I would definitely GoBoat with them again!

This was a really fun day out. Don't expect a speed boat - just a leisurely 'cruise' down the Yarra and a chance to see all those spots you've probably never seen before from the river. Bec H

Incredibly fun option for a warm day in copenhagen and shockingly affordable!! Grab some friends, bring your own wine, fruit, and bluetooth speaker and have the best time. We only rented for an hour and wished it was longer. The people working there are very friendly and easy-going, and despite never driving a boat before we found it very easy. DO THIS

You don't want to be crammed with dozens of other passengers in a crowded tourist boat, but you still want to explore the waters of Copenhagen? Then it makes good sense for you to rent your own boat. The boat can hold up to 8 people and it doesn't take a license to drive the electric boats as it's very simple and straight forward. Since it's electric, it doesn't make any sound either and runs very smoothly. Bring your picnic basket ready because there's no other way to explore Copenhagen than eating on the boat, or just have the drinks. Minimum recommended time is 2 hours, and that's what we booked, but we could have used more! If you have family or friends visiting in Copenhagen, rent a boat instead!

Great way to see Copenhagen. Friendly staff and very clean boats for rental. Instructions were clear and you can bring your own food for the self-driven trip.

This is SUPER FUN. Basically, you get in a boat, drive round the canals by yourself for a while, then bring it back. You can bring a picnic (don't worry, they have supplies if you decide upon this on the spur of the moment) and it's super-easy to drive the boat. We were at the swimming place next door and decided to give it a try - bought some drinks and snacks, and they gave us blankets as it was a little chilly. Life jackets are supplied, too. We saw lots of locals going out on their boats and even a man proposing to his partner on a boat - she said yes! DEFINITELY DO THIS!

BEWARE - no refunds if it's raining & lightning! Total ripoff! We booked a boat ride for my birthday and it started raining considerably (with lightning and strong wind) one hour before our scheduled boat rental time. I tried calling but no one picked up the phone so I emailed asking if the company was canceling the boat rides because of the weather and they said no. I then asked if we could reschedule our boat ride because I did not want to ride on a open boat with no cover from the elements whatsoever for a whole hour and get drenched and cold. They said no again. They would not give us a refund or reschedule our boat ride. Their emails were short and rude and offered no explanation or flexibility. Totally ridiculous. Never again. THEY RUINED MY BIRTHDAY. Unless you can predict weather with 100% accuracy, I would not use this arrogant company.

Friendly people and the absolute best way to experience the canals. Super friendly, very helpful staff. Boats are easy to operate and all electric. Would recommend for couples or groups looking for a date or group outing!

Really - you must do this. Copenhagen is a harbor town. There is water everywhere. You must get out on it. Especially in the sommer. Don't have a boat? No problem. Go Boat rents charming electric picnic boats by the hour for you and 7 of your best friends or family. I adore the slow, cozy, picnic table centered Go Boats for their charm, ease and maneuverability. The kids love the nets given them to scoop up trash in the canals. Bring some back and receive a treat. We have not tried their pre-made picnic baskets as you have to book more than 48 hours in advance, but have always brought our own provisions to enjoy. You can always supplement your own picnic with drinks (sodas, juice, wine and beer) from the GoBoat dock at your reserved time. I recommend booking ahead online, you can select 1, 2 or 3 hour increments. These boats are no where near speedy, but being forced to go slow allows more soaking in of the beautiful Copenhagen harbor. On a sunny day, the kids love to jump off and swim in the water. Easy enough to get off and on and quite stable even in higher traffic zones. Highly recommend it at least once. So very fun fun!
