"Goðafoss is one of the most epic waterfalls in Iceland. Nicknamed the “waterfall of the Gods,” it’s where the rushing Skjálfandafljót river drops nearly 40 feet across a 98-foot expanse."

One of the greatest attractions in the North of the country: a glorious waterfall and a magical scenery. Very easy to reach and park for free close to the main road. Just a short easy hiking path up to the waterfall. If you avoid the peak hours of the tour buses you will have a fantastic experience.

Godafoss, also known as "Waterfall of the Gods," is one of Iceland's most stunning and iconic waterfalls. Located in the northern part of the country, it's easily accessible and offers breathtaking views. The surrounding landscape is very impressive. There's a viewing platform that allows visitors to get up close to the falls, and several well-maintained walking paths provide different perspectives of this majestic site.

Ahhhh Godafoss! What is there not to like. After sitting in your tour bus, it was lovely to get out and stretch our legs for the walk to the waterfall. The day we visited it was halfway cloudy, and then the sun came out which made for some beautiful rainbows. I would think this place would be even more beautiful at night with northern lights. Definitely well worth the money. Tip: there is a side path just before you reach the waterfall that can take you down the cliff onto the very very rocky beach where you can actually approach the waterfall at its foot. Worth the trip but be careful not to break an ankle.

Stunning waterfalls. Cold, icy and rainy when we visited so shoes with good grip for the icy parts a must to enjoy to the full. In good weather you can spend quite some time enjoying the falls & following the pathways etc. Free parking before and after the bridge. Cafe, shop & toilets - had to pay for toilets but as parking was free that really didn’t matter.

Amazing powerful waterfall. It is absolutely recommended to go all the way to the lowest observation point, with a quick path through the boulders (sometimes a bit slippery because of the humidity). There the power of the waterfall is so strong to shake the ground.

Beautiful waterfall and a short trek from the carpark. There are 2 carparks and we parked at the east. It’s a short walk to the west side of the falls and I highly recommend to enjoy both sides since the walk is short:) We had lunch by the benches near our carpark and it was amazing. Didn’t see any WC around but saw a souvenir shop/cafe, so I guess there’s one in it?
