Had lunch there today with family. The pub is great, lively atmosphere and great musicians. The food however was disappointing. We had seafood chowders with brown bread … the chowder had an interesting if unusual flavour with generous amounts of salmon but no other fish variety visible. The bread was dry and hard, clearly had been sliced for some time , it was most unappetising. The mussels were lovely again with the same bread. Overall I would certainly go back for the pub, the music and the atmosphere but not the food

We stayed at Gogarty’s Temple Bar Hostel for a few days during our Dublin trip, and honestly, it was such a good experience. The place is right in the middle of everything, the atmosphere is great, and it felt like the perfect spot for two friends exploring the city. We did have a little inconvenience with our beds because of the storm, but Andrès was incredible. He helped us right away, was genuinely kind, and made the whole situation so much easier. People like him really change the energy of a stay. So thank you, truly — go raibh maith agat. 🇮🇪

Decent hostel, rooms were fine, location is fantastic. One male member of staff was very rude before and throughout our stay. He tried taking payment with no notice then sent an aggressive email saying that the booking would be cancelled if we did not pay within four hours. Our room had just been painted and hadn't dried yet, and when we asked to move we were told that it was my fault because that payment had been delayed and that was the only reason they moved us to that room. He also said he confirmed with me that this new room was okay, which he didn't, and how would I have known before visiting. Despite this there was a female member of staff who was very polite and gave us lots of recommendations for Dublin which was great.

A great location with a fun and functional space! Large enough for two couples with all the necessities there for you. The small patio is a nice touch! The front desk staff was so welcoming and kind! They did everything they could to make us welcome and even offered us a room early! The location is just steps away from the hustle and bustle! The apartment was clean and well stocked with towels and supplies!

Awful. Waited over an hour for a table then (first time in my life) sent the food back and refused a replacement meal (it was that bad) beef and guinness stew was salty to the point of being inedible and the seafood chowder was 'old' fishy and had weird bits in like wax paper (was told it was onion skin...it definitely was not) still paid nearly €25 for 2 pints. Music also intrusively loud. Absolute rip off, don't go.

was served by an Asian woman who was quite rude, unfortunately. The food was really disappointing …I ordered a soup that was extremely spicy and the fish and chips were tiny, with some strange bits inside. Honestly, it felt like a complete rip-off

Pub is expensive and not worth it. Food was mediocre. Beer prices were (intentionally?) not to be found in the menu. As a special surprise from the house they charged us € 11.45 for a pint of beer and € 9 for a small n/a Beer. Great experience in the tradition of irish highwaymen. Chips would have satiated any toddler.

We had a really great experience overall. The location was perfect. The only complaints were how hot the room is (expected for Europe) and the noise (which the hostel was transparent about from before we booked.) Fabio specifically was so helpful and kind. We had made some logistic mistakes due to poor planning and he helped make sure everything was taken care of and that we were comfortable. He was great!
