On the 25Dec2025 the morning, I did not have a great welcome at the dining hall for breakfast at all, from the man and lady standing at the door. Me entering, did they not even say “good morning” but ask in a harsh tone for our room number in another language, they could not even ask in English the LANGUAGE BARRIER! Thinking its all, enters another family and they had the total opposite, kindness galore. Just eww.

Told at 2pm that they only going to start cleaning the rooms now, we travelling with kids that were up since 5am as flew in. I don’t understand why the cleaning starts at 2pm when guest are supposed to check in. What a great start to our holiday

Blood stained bedding, looks like it's been there for ages. Was dupposed to be a non-smoking room but definitely smelled like smoke compared to the room a family member got two doors down. Aircon also did not blow cold. Very glad this was only a one night stay.

What a disappointing stay!
- dust mites and bed bugs
- 2 broken beds in 2 different rooms: after the first night, we were moved to another new with ANOTHER broken bed making that #3
- bathroom amenities weren't changed/replaced from previous guests
- lack of management skills is evident at front desk: no communication happened between different shifts, we were bothered day after day about proof of payment when this was sent well before our stay AND AGAIN THRICE to different shifts at reception
- Complaints were brushed off as if they did not matter
A formal complaint was laid after our return home, and a discounted rate was offered on our NEXT stay as an apology. Tell me, why would we choose to come back to your establishment? Our stay was unpleasant and uncomfortable. As much as we appreciate this form of apology, why waste more money to endure round 2.

Welcomed by friendly staff, our family stayed in the Nile Suite.||We enjoyed Beautiful spacious rooms with on suite bathrooms.|Lovely vintage style bath tubs.|Two king size beds, an entrance area with dining table and lounge.|The reservations staff assisted us with a cot for our 8 month old baby.|Bed linen felt soft, fresh and the cushions were comfortable.||Room service was quick. Close to a variety of restaurants and entertainment including a cinema.|A peaceful evening was had with no noise.||Im a florist so would have loved a fresh flower display in the lobby and an Orchid or florals in the suite.||We loved the access to the theme park, it was good family fun making this hotel extra special.||Thank you Gold Reef City Hotel team, we cant wait to visit again!!
