We had an unforgettable evening at GOLD in Cape Town. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and truly unique. The entire experience felt like a joyful journey through different African cultures. The three live performances throughout the evening were absolutely spectacular — energetic drumming, beautiful dancing, and captivating storytelling. Each show added a wonderful rhythm to the night and kept everyone entertained and engaged. The food was outstanding. GOLD serves a wide variety of dishes from across Africa, all beautifully prepared and perfect for sharing. Every plate introduced new flavours and textures, and the entire menu felt like a culinary expedition. The drink selection was excellent as well, and we especially enjoyed the Rosé wine, which paired perfectly with the dishes. What made the evening even more special was the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Every team member made us feel welcome, explained the dishes with enthusiasm, and contributed to the warm and lively atmosphere. If you’re looking for a dinner experience that combines culture, entertainment, and fantastic food, GOLD is an absolute must. We will definitely be back!

We were a little sceptical when we booked our evening at the Gold Restaurant. But, what can I say, it was a great experience! The mood and atmosphere captivated us as soon as we entered the restaurant. From the very beginning, the staff provided us with very personal service (thank you, Patricia!) and we felt very welcome. The atmosphere and African joie de vivre immediately captivated us. It was incredible how this positive, life-affirming attitude was conveyed to every guest. The 14-course menu showcased the full range of African cuisine. Singing and dancing didn't just take place on stage. The whole troupe passed by every table and captivated everyone. In the end, it was a big party that encouraged almost all the guests to dance. A wonderful evening!

Gold Restaurant is a very lively experience. There are traditional African dances and performances being done throughout the restaurant that travel to each dining room so you are sure not to miss any. The food, in my opinion, was just ok. It’s a set menu so no need to think about what to order. Some items of the menu I did enjoy were the Zanzibar fish curry and Moroccan lamb stew. Go here if looking for a great experience

I visited all the way from Saudi Arabia, and it was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere is vibrant and full of culture, with amazing live performances that pair perfectly with the food. Each dish is rich in tradition and truly delicious. The staff are warm and welcoming, making the evening feel special. A must-visit in Cape Town!

Very unique, cultural experience! Come ready to try traditional African dishes from all over Africa. Everything for the most part was delicious and you can pre-order the dishes you enjoy the most. The cultural show was also entertaining. Customer Service was great! We really enjoyed our experience here. I would highly recommend attending and being open minded to trying and enjoying some new food.

This was a nice themed restaurant where you can eat some good African food and enjoy some entertainment. It is definitely geared towards tourists, but the food and entertainment were both enjoyable. You also get involved with the first performance with your drums at the table. Overall, it was a nice evening with good food, entertainment, and service.

Each course of meal journeys across the continent—from Moroccan tagines and South African bobotie to West African stews—executed with remarkable authenticity and balance. It is less a meal than a cultural immersion, celebrating Africa’s culinary and artistic richness in perfect harmony.

We had an incredible experience at the Gold Restaurant. It is catered mainly for tourists but it is definitely worth a visit to enjoy their traditional menu of 14 dish tasting dishes, which were fantastic. We enjoy every bid of it due to the traditional cooking techniques and the rich spices that bring each dish to life.The life shows were spectacular with great African music and dances. The drumming, dancing and as a matter of fact, the whole show and experience was great. It has an enchanting atmosphere.
