One of my favourite nights in Cape Town—Gold Restaurant is a must.
If you’re into trying new flavours and getting a real feel for the culture, this place delivers. The tasting menu lets you try a bit of everything from all over Africa—14 dishes, and not a single boring bite. It’s generous, flavorful, and full of things I’d never tasted before.
🎭 The entertainment is where it really kicks off.
Dancers, drummers, and vibrant energy fill the space, and you’re not just watching—you’re part of it. There’s drumming before dinner (yes, they hand you one!) and dancing between the courses. It’s interactive, welcoming, and genuinely joyful.
🕕 Hot tip: Get there before 6pm.
That’s when the entertainment starts and you don’t want to miss the opening. It totally sets the vibe for the rest of the night.
Whether you’re flying solo or with friends, this is the kind of evening that makes you feel like you’ve actually travelled—not just eaten somewhere fancy. Gold doesn’t feel like a restaurant—it feels like a celebration.
