Cute spot for breakfast or lunch with a great selection. I tried the hot chicken with hash brown casserole. They warn that it is "hot" but it is really just right. Don't be a baby and just try it. The food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. I guess school is out and we had 2 young girls waiting on us. Our cups were always full and they were very polite. I love seeing kids doing this rather than sitting on their phone or by the TV. Awesome experience. Don't miss this place if you are in the area.

Google
I saw the great reviews and jumped on the bandwagon passing through town! I will find a way to eat here again!!! I got the Chief, go ahead and upgrade to the bread pudding waffles, thank me later! Our waitress told me to try them without syrup and she knew what she was talking about!!!! One child got the kids burger, other got tenders! Fantastic food and a great value!! Spouse went in for a burger and quickly changed mind to an omelette!! Eat 👏🏻 Here🤌🏼 you will love it!!!

First time eating here, it was very good I cleaned my plate. I ordered "The Dalton" upgraded to the bread pudding mini waffles. It was delicious.

Google
The bacon is wow! So delicious! The waffles are soft and wonderful! Coffee ain't bad either!

Google
Quaint and yummy! BEST OMELETTE Breakfast I’ve had since I moved from California. Add the bread pudding waffle and you will love this place as much as I do. Thanks, Korey and crew.

The first time we wanted something different And it was my husband had some kind of burger and then we shared fried Green tomatoes for the App was very good I had never had any I thought they were going to be bad. I had fried apples and bread pudding mini waffles I had never had bread pudding before and I expected this to be so sweet when I saw it but it was delicious.

Google
Food was great, our waitress was nice, but the hostess was not. We waited for about ten minutes to be seated, which I don't mind, it looked like they had the front section closed. No big deal. The hostess did not greet us at all, she came to the host stand several times while we were waiting with a sour look on her face and did not acknowledge us or the others waiting. When she did decide to acknowledge us, she said "who's first?" like she was annoyed to even seat anyone. There was a family in front of us so they followed her, and when she came back she grabbed more menus for us, took us to a dark corner booth and left without another word. Our waitress came and she was nice enough to make me forget, but the hostess returned with our appetizer and the same sour attitude later. I work in the hospitality industry, so I understand how it can be sometimes, but as someone who is customer facing, you have to be able to at least fake it! A simple greeting of even a hello and a smile would have been good enough for me. Words and smiles go a long way, especially in this current state of affairs.

Google
Started with loosing our name on the wait list. While the place had a steady stream of costumers it did not warrant the hour wait for a simple breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Place seemed very disorganized . Once food arrived, it was fair. Not great nor was it bad. Overall food not worth the hassles and wait.

Yelp
We'd heard about this place and made it a point to stop - GREAT service, brekky and ambiance. Our Billy the Kid breakfast was SO good! The bacon and sausage were exceptional! Ya gotta try this place!

Yelp
Nice little breakfast spot in downtown. They were doing a pretty steady business on the Wednesday morning we visited. Only one waitress but she was covering everyone very well. My wife had the 2 miniwaffles and a side of bacon. She liked the waffles but thought the bacon was fatty. I had the sausage breakfast sandwich (sans egg) with home fries. Nothing was hot, but it was warm enough to be good. I ate the sausage and potatoes snd brought the biscuit home. We would eat there again for sure.

Yelp
Good food but I think it's kinda pricy to start the day off bacon cheeseburger omelette is my go to here it's great but it's 13.99 the biscuits and gravy as a side and hash brown casserole is good no complaints from me give it a try!!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. Lots of food for a reasonable price. I had great service and frequent coffee refills. My only complaint is that the menu I was given was so badly faded that you literally couldn't read some of the words. They really need to buy new menus.

James L.

Yelp
Use a phone roster system to save place in line so customers don't have to congregate at the entrance.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Great food and service! We also loved the funny decor. Only downfall is the long wait with no room to actually wait. People end up clogging up the doorway while waiting.

Trent W.

Yelp
Waitress was awesome and stayed on top of the coffee. I will be dreaming about the bread pudding waffle tonight. Excellent.

Yelp
This place is a hard 10 plus. The people are great, the food is amazing and the price is even better. Make we wish I lived here. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy and I ended up eating most of it. The absolute best biscuits and gravy I've ever experienced. And it is an absolute experience. This is a must eat at kind of place.

Yelp
Great array of Southern breakfast and lunch offerings. Amazing biscuit breakfast bacon egg and cheese sandwich and an amazing hardworking staff as well
google avatar

Tracy K.

Yelp
The ambiance is fab! You'll spend more time reading the walls than the menu. The food is great! The cheese sticks were logs!

Kelly D.

Yelp
Good food - our party of 4 had breakfast and lunch entrees. Their signature bread pudding waffles were delicious! However, service and food was extremely slow. And the interior is dated and dingy. Looked like new floors, but the wood booths, walls and decor were not. And Couldn't tell if they were under construction or if the makeshift storage/service area was intended to be permanent. It was an interesting stop, but no plans to return.

Yelp
We came to Paducah from out of town for a baby shower and were on the hunt for a good breakfast place. Upon searching on Yelp, we were presented with Gold Rush Cafe so we said let's do it! We were there the weekend of BBQ on the River so maybe it was an off day for them but the wait to be seated was ridiculous. It took about 45 min to be seated and they had an entire section of tables closed (~10 seats). This is in a restaurant that probably only seats 30 people total. It was more challenging than I anticipated to even get on the list to be seated. I had to wait 10 minutes just for someone to take my name down. Once we were finally seated the experience improved. The server was decent. I ordered the western omelet while my husband ordered the calamity jane. We both enjoyed our meals and the portions were very generous. The breakfast only options in Paducah are limited so I do recommend going here and I do think we'd give this place another try despite our initial frustration over the seating process.

Yelp
YUM YUM YUM! If you haven't been here, stop everything you're doing and go now! The food is DELICIOUS! A must order is the bread pudding waffles. Melt in your mouth to die for. It's a small venue and it's definitely worth the wait. Staff is amazing and service is quick. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Went to Gold Rush for breakfast during quill week, no surprise, but of a wait. Worth it. Had a combination with pancakes, eggs, and ham. My wife had the bread pudding waffle. Service was great and food terrific. Everyone around us was nice too. Friendly place. Highly recommended

William W.

Yelp
The wait was way longer than the hostess said. And once we did sit down and order the wait on the food was extremely long. And the worst part of our experience came when the food arrived, the mac and cheese was horrible and microwaved, the chicken omelette was terrible couldn't eat it. Biscuits and gravy were horrendous. Paid and left very upset.

Yelp
We try to get to this restaurant every month or so. We appreciate the friendly waitstaff and enjoy the cute & funny decor. About the food, my favorite is the Bread Pudding Waffles, and my husband has several favorites but this time he got the Golden Eggs (2 hard-boiled eggs wrapped in ground sausage then panko breaded and deep fried). They also have excellent coffee. The only downside for us is that they close at 2, and there have been a few times we forgot and tried to go there later in the day! They also have more typical breakfast and lunch foods, we just seem to always order breakfast foods there. If you are in Paducah, check them out - you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Oh dear. We are from Texas. Someone recommended this place. I would say it's like entering a horror film... dust and grease cover everything .... Holes in chairs... a weird half upper level with supplies and more dust store. The front when will give you an indication... dust and weird Easter decor.... In August! We left before eating... save yourself the visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast place. Very good service. Nothing special, just a solid breakfast. I would recommend.

Yelp
I love this restaurant great food, and fast service We WILL BE BACK!!! I Love the Big Dalton
google avatar

Yelp
Service took a crazy amount of time. Apparently this is a popular place. I will stand by this statement: I did not like their gravy. This was not breakfast gravy it was dinner gravy like you would find on a chicken fried steak. Coffee was crap. Bathrooms were dirty and the staff was rude to a few people while we were there. So much so we ended up paying for anything lady's tab. Will not be back.

Yelp
One of the few places to get breakfast on a Sunday in Paducah, but boy do they deliver. I ordered the Billy The Kid which comes with choice of egg (scrambled), meat (bacon) and potato (hashbrowns). For under 9 dollars it had been one of my favorite breakfasts. The bacon probably the best I've had. Fluffy scrambled eggs and a giant glass of oj made for a great foundation to explore Paducah. We ended up going there twice (Paducah needs more early breakfast options) but both times were a treat. And very affordable. They even have doughnut bread pudding I didn't get around to trying, but hope to in the future!

Yelp
Boy does this place have some fun signs! Be sure to check out the bathroom. Now that the most important thing's out of the way: the food. I didn't eat any my first time. Just a mason jar (with handle) or cranberry juice. Second time in was a different story. I ordered has browns with a side of queso. That was a delicious combination that I should repeat at home soon. Dining companions' orders and their notes: Dalton: good biscuits and delicious gravy Little piggies: good omelet with bacon, ham, and sausage gravy Billy the Kid: one person said bacon was very good and the scrambled eggs were light and fluffy; other person liked the sausage links the best FYI: the hash brown casserole is not vegetarian, but the hash browns are Servers were very friendly. I took off one star because the tip suggestions of 18, 21, and 25 were post-tax figures. No. Don't ask people to tip based on tax. Tips are pre-tax.

Yelp
Had breakfast and it was very good. The portions were generous. The service was excellent

Yelp
Good food!! Wasn't gonna get there award winning waffle thes I did and didn't regret it

Yelp
I am so glad my group stopped here for breakfast while in Paducah. It is located in downtown Paducah. There is only street parking available. Guests were to be wearing masks upon entering. There were lots of breakfast items on the menu. I created my own omelet. I really enjoyed it. The hashbrowns were also good. The best item had to be the biscuit and gravy and I would definitely get that as an entree if I am able to come back. The staff was also great and helful.

Yelp
We are staying in Metropolis, IL, but it seems there is not many places to eat, so we traveled out to Puducha, KY and here we are. The food here was so good. I may be coming back here tomorrow for breakfast. I've never been a fan of bread pudding... but, they have bread pudding waffles that are making me think twice on becoming a fan. Don't know much about Kentucky charm but I think Phyllis gave us the biggest dose. Love this place.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
Fantastic breakfast. Wait staff was very nice and helpful. Not much seating so on a busy day don't know what the wait would be. Old school food.
google avatar

Peyton M.

Yelp
Had the big dalton and there wasn't a single thing on my plate that didn't blow me away. Great and fast service despite being short-staffed. The home fries and biscuit and gravy were the standouts for me, but all of it was perfect. Will 100% be back!

Yelp
Yelp reviews of this place promise so much; breakfast at this place delivers so little. This restaurant is dingy. The seat in our booth had a big hole torn in the fabric. Our breakfasts were okay but nothing out of the ordinary. Not planning to go back.

Casey O.

Yelp
My first time going here. We waited for 20 mins at the table without any service. The staff forgot about us. I will not be returning to this establishment ever. This is disappointing considering the so many good things I heard about this place.
google avatar

Yelp
I was in town for a wedding and took one look at this menu and knew I needed to try it out. It's a cute cafe with fun signs hanging everywhere. My husband ordered the Dalton while I ordered the Annie Oakley for breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly but the stars of the dishes were definitely the biscuits and gravy and the mini bread pudding waffles. The biscuits were soft and delicious and the gravy was warm and well seasoned. Oh! And I had the hash brown casserole with mine and it was 10/10, certified slap yo momma good. So now, let me tell you about the magical bread pudding waffles. They are served with maple-butter and syrup. After one glorious bite, I regretted not adding them to my meal as well. It is a beautifully sweet cinnamon-maple flavor. If you have a sweet tooth, you must try it!

Yelp
A nice place to eat after a walk downtown Paducah. Courteous staff with good food. I recommend the bread pudding.

Brian D.

Yelp
Wouldn't let me put an"0" or I would have! We entered the establishment, there was only one person being served, the hostess was very dismissive and didn't act like she wanted to serve us. I guess because we have piercings and tattoos idk, just my guess. we stood there waiting to be seated in an empty restaurant. she didn't acknowledge us anymore and just walked around. we left. beyond unacceptable!
google avatar

Yelp
Was very disappointed after seeing the positive reviews. Maybe 10 tables total, waited for 20 minutes for a table. Ordered food at 11:40, at 12:20, another table that came in after us, party of 7, was served (they ordered ahead?) before us. Ordered breakfast, nothing crazy. Food was served cold... never send food back but after waiting 45 min, figured what the heck? It was ok... and the waitstaff apologetic, but unless they get it together, won't go back. PS: an option for breakfast item was an additional up charge without explanation and was told by our server it was an option with no up charge mentioned. Maybe don't use phone to take orders too... seems to slow down server :(

Yelp
Best place in town to get breakfast! Try the Scotch eggs, the bread pudding waffles, and the hash brown casserole.... All delicious!!!

Yelp
forget the amazingly wonderful breakfast !!! rachel t was the greatest waitress we have ever had the humble honor & pleasure to be served by in over a decade !!! thank you rachel t for being friendly, funny & fabulous & for making our whole trip more fabulous !!!

Yelp
Used to come here while traveling thru. After 2 years, finally came back a few days ago. don't know what has happened to this place: It's not clean, not at all. We were given a booth , but the seat had a huge hole in it and the table had not been cleaned. Sticky; looked like jelly on it. We left without eating. Don't know if this is norm now, but we won't come back.
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
Very limited seating makes for long wait times. The food was just ok. Nice staff. It'll do in a pinch and it took away the hangries but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. Hey, you can't say we didn't try~
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast before heading back home. Being hungry and not able to make a decision, I ordered the big dalton. This came with eggs, sausage link, fries, biscuits & gravy, and mini waffles. The portions were decent sized and everything was so delicious. The waffles and biscuits & gravy were my favorites. I would have ordered more but I was so full. Service was outstanding. Would definitely visit again.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast ... very fresh and unique. Amazing biscuits and gravy... cool waitress staff that are fun and friendly

David B.

Yelp
We were headed home after a weekend in Nashville. They have a good and filling breakfast. Mine included eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit and gravy, home fries, and bread pudding waffles. Pretty, pretty good. If you're in or passing through Paducah, KY, it's worth going to for sure.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
A solid, local diner and good choice for breakfast but only if you're not in a hurry and you can roll with a staff a bit on the grumpy slow. It's obscenely slow. It's nothing fancy and the interior desperately needs some TLC but again the food was fine.

Yelp
My husband and I went to this restaurant on Saturday morning, October 8th around 8:30 am. When we walked in, we were immediately struck by a distasteful joke about a customer's bad review on a sign at the front of the restaurant. There were already two couples waiting for a table. The front part of the restaurant had most of their tables blocked off and not being used. More and more people came in. The entrance was packed. People were standing all around the front door and even sitting on the stairs. There were probably 12-15 people waiting for a table. The staff seemed completely unfazed and in no hurry to serve food or tend to customers. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait. Fifteen minutes came and went and no customers left. One of the couples in front of us left. We waited a few more minutes and we left, too. We were disappointed that we weren't able to have breakfast here because we planned to spend our morning downtown. We had already been to the farmer's market, and we wanted to contribute to downtown Paducah's economy. Unfortunately, this place has changed and not for the better.

Yelp
Cute and homey breakfast place. I loved the atmosphere and my food/service was amazing!
google avatar

Ann l.

Yelp
Great breakfast. We had eggs, sausage, bacon and hash browns. All were really well prepared. The sausage patties had great flavor!!
google avatar

Justin B.

Yelp
I had the double cheese burger with onion rings and BBQ sauce, fries, and Iced Tea. Our waitress kept the iced tea full and even filled a to-go cup for us, which was really nice on a 90+ degree day. The burger was good - not great, but good. The fries were hot and crispy. The boss got the wrap and seemed to love her meal. A nice clean atmosphere and our waitress was super friendly. I'll have to go back to check out her recommendations next time we are in town.

Tina J.

Yelp
This place was good home cooking! Very good flavor and service. I have celiac disease and can't have gluten and they were very accommodating and owner understood how serious the issue was. You should definitely stop in here you won't be disappointed.

Jamie M.

Yelp
Just average in my book , IHOP or Waffle House just as good . Server was good but that was just about it .
google avatar

Sandy C.

Yelp
We were a bit disappointed after having read the previous reviews. The main dining room was full so we were seated in an area that was clearly being used for storage. I got the Annie Oakley, and my wife got an omelet. The hash brown casserole was greasy and neither of us could finish it. My eggs were fine, and the biscuits and gravy were pretty good, but not spectacular. My wifes omelet was OK, but didn't have the extra ingredient in it that she had ordered. Overall, it was a decent breakfast, but I had hoped for more based on the previous reviews.
