19 Best Beaches in Hong Kong

"One of the longest beaches in Hong Kong, Golden Beach sprawls across 1,788 feet on Castle Peak Bay. Fringed by palm trees and lots of flowers, the beach is actually full of artificial sand—but you wouldn’t know it by the feel." - Kate Springer

Didn't visit the beach on a sunny day so this might have detracted from my experience. With sewage pipes, a yacht club and some busy ship routes nearby, water was not so clean. Sand also became hard because of the light rain. Seeing the water quality, I wouldn't choose to swim there though I did see a few swimmers despite the gloomy weather.

Golden Beach is a nice spot to relax and enjoy the sea. The sand is soft and the water is clear, making it good for swimming. There are some shaded areas nearby, which are great for taking breaks from the sun. Facilities like small cafes and snack stands are available close by.We spent a quiet afternoon there, enjoying the calm atmosphere and the natural surroundings. It’s a good place to visit if you want to get away from the busy city for a while.

It’s easily to get here by bus get off at Cafeteria beach bus stop then walk 5 mins to get there. This beach is not that big but chill enough. It’s a good spot to watch sunset. There is public clean toilet here. The beach and water are clean. Good place to spend time in Tuen Mun area

There is a string of beaches along Castle Peak Road southeast of Tuen Mun including Cafeteria Old, Cafeteria New and Golden Beach. It is nicely located for those staying at Gold Coast hotel, not far from the town centre of Tuen Mun. The beach sand is pretty good, plenty of designated swimming area, facilities and a few eateries at the nearby Golden Coast Piazza. For those staying elsewhere in the city, there are quite a few convenient beaches you can choose from that might be preferable to Golden Beach. However, it is fine to visit here if staying in Tuen Mun or areas in New Territories West.

I come here weekly. Towing a float buoy, I swim along near the safety buoy lines as there is no floating platform in the swimming areas. Parking isn’t a problem during weekdays.
