Golden Dragon Hot Pot 金龍火锅

Our new favourite spot for hotpot. Used to stick with AYCE places but this place is totally worth the price. We dont mind paying a bit more compared to AYCE places cuz the broth + meat options are sooooo good it outweighs the price. Plus if you stay late enough for their happy hour the meat is even cheaper. But we usually go for the $109 combo with a ring tray of meat. My favourite broth option is either tomato or golden sour and spicy. Tried their tea + milk tea as well. It’s better than we expected! Totally a hidden gem. Did not expect a almost hidden restaurant in the corner of a neighborhood is this good!

We chose Golden Dragon to be our intro into Hot Pot experience. My 10 year old has been asking to try it and we thought there couldn’t have been any better place for it after our experience last night. Now it appears we found a new taste for the whole experience which was beyond just getting served with some prepared food. It was engaging, interesting and almost felt like a sport associated with some delicious variety of meat, seafood and vegetables. It’s a little hidden spot close to the Brentwood COOP. When we arrived there after a hockey practice at Brentwood, the place was packed. It looked magical with the lightings and steam dancing upwards from the boiling pot of soup base located center of each table. As we waited 30 minutes on top of our reservation, the aroma making us even hungry and impatient almost, thinking this calls for a not so good review was completely reverted after our experience :) Not only they took the time to explain us the whole process, the service remained exceptionally positive! Also, to our surprise, this place offers not only Halal meat alongside the regular, they also don’t serve pork. It was a bonus for us as we don’t eat pork. After a full traditional experience, our total was around $92.00 that included a 3 types of soup base, pops, tea, bunch of marinated meats, dumplings, hand rolled noodle(you got to try this), udon, seafood and vegetables. We were full with taste, flavour and a whole new level of experience this tradition. This place seems popular and busy so, please make a reservation beforehand. And to our surprise, they not only offered us a really good discount and offered not to accept any tips to make up for the inconvenience of the waiting at the beginning was really nice touch to complete the experience. They cared about their service and that’s left us with great positive vibes. We highly recommend you to check this place!

This is definitely one of the best hotpot places in Calgary! The ingredients are incredibly fresh, especially the sliced beef and lamb. We loved the broth options (highly recommend the Tomato broth and Spicy broth). The staff were friendly and attentive, always making sure our soup was topped up. Great atmosphere for a friends' gathering. Will definitely come back!

Great hot pot place! The broth is flavorful without being too heavy, and the ingredients are fresh and well-prepared. The service is friendly and attentive, and the food comes out quickly. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience. Would definitely come back.

Me and my friends came here for some late night hot pot and it exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere is super cozy and our server was super helpful and friendly given two of us were new to hotpot. They didn’t rush us and let us order more even right before closing. Our server also recommended great soup and sauce bases. Give this place a try! Service is 10/10 and everything was so delicious and worth it. We spent about $28 each with a good tip and it was well spent!

Had a fantastic time here. Food is great as usual. Definitely get the cheese rice cake. We were served by Ariana who is a pocket of Sunshine. Ariana, thanks for making my birthday meal amazing. You have a great future in hospitality and Tourism. Keep doing your thing :)

OMG, it was absolutely amazing! We visited this hot pot restaurant for the first time, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The customer service was beyond incredible. One of the staff members (a lovely woman) took so much time to walk us through the entire process. Since it was our first time, we had a lot of questions, but she explained everything so clearly—from how to choose our broth and ingredients to how long to cook each item. She was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and you could tell she genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. The attention to detail and the warm, welcoming vibe made us feel right at home. On top of that, the food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We left not only full and happy, but already planning our next visit. If you're new to hot pot or even if you're a regular, I can't recommend this place enough!

The service was also excellent; the staff- Ariana was friendly, attentive, and always made sure our table was clean and well-stocked. They explained the menu clearly and gave great recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. I would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Ariana is a fantastic hostess. She was very thoughtful and accommodating, and so knowledgeable about the offerings. The food was excellent! The soup bases and sauce ingredients were top notch. And the different foods to cook were fresh and beautifully presented. We will visit again!

This is probably my favorite Hot Pot in Calgary. The best outside of China and the broth and experience reminds me of a Chinese hot pot in mainland China. You can choose up to 3 different soup base which is perfect because my husband likes it super spicy, my mom likes it bland and I was still able to order their popular tomato base broth. The food is a la carte with lots of options to choose from. It's a great family meal and perfect for a cold winter day. (Even though we went on a hot summer day. :) Parking is not fun though. My suggestion is to park near the liquor store (old Blockbuster) and walk to restaurant as it's attached to a condo building with very limited parking. Prices vary pending on how much your party eats. We averaged to pay $30 per person. However, in general I really enjoyed it. A fun night out and will be back!

Food was really good. Service very friendly. Tables were hard to sit around if you are taller than 5'4.
