The Golden Farmers Market is an absolute gem! One of the highlights each week is stopping by Eat a Peach—Jonathan and his experienced team always greet you with a smile and a beautiful selection of seasonal, local produce. They’re constantly introducing new and unique varieties, making every visit a fresh discovery. It’s a must-stop for anyone who values supporting local farms and eating with the seasons! 🥬🍅

This farmers market is just the right size, full of options but not overwhelming. There are various fruits, vegetables, coffee and pastries, craft, salad dressings, spices, soaps and body creams. You can get a breakfast strudel, a tamale, burrito or cupcake, sit at the comfortable designated area or by the water, take a walk by the creek or explore the nearby library. It start to get busy by 9 am but there is still parking nearby. I like how friendly and easygoing everyone is, a great way to spend your Saturday morning!

Dang, 2024 is a glow up year for Golden Farmer's Market! The number of fresh produce stands has exploded. Coffee options overfloweth. Prepared breakfast options abound. Local artisans and niche products are plentiful. The majority of Golden, myself included, use this weekly market as a free form of entertainment for small children. I love that I can start the morning with a run along Clear Creek, grab breakfast and coffee at the market, and then can take my kid to the library (or park) or bring out of town visitors to the Golden Museum or Washington Street. In upcoming years, I hope to see more international stands pop up like the Ukrainian food vendor that joined this year. I always look forward to the weekend markets and will be sad when the season is over!

Golden is the CUTEST town in Colorado. During the summer you can tube down the river and there is lots of hiking. The trails are taken care of really well, and they have a farmers market next to the river once a week. There is a wide variety of yummy restaurants in town as well.

Great atmosphere and lots of sweet treats and things to eat. I went with my grandma and we both had a good time! But keep in mind parking is almost impossible to find!

Google
What a lovely place to go. Many, many choices: Fresh Vegetables, fresh Fruit, Ice Cream, Coffee, Lattes, Breakfast Burritos, Baked Goods, Homemade Breads, Bagels, Streudel, Jams w/Habenero, CBD Goodies, Homemade wares, clothing and SOOO MUCH MORE!! You're also next to the River and very close to the town of Golden. Stop by for a morning or afternoon. We went at 9:00am-1:00pm.

For early in the year there was a good selection and variety of produce. Pricing seemed a bit high

Love love - not too crowded and great environment for kiddos. Not too packed and right by the river!

Yelp
Love this fresh farmers market! Baked goods, fresh veggies, smoothies local plants and friendly local people! They have it all! I had the BEST cinnamon roll in my life at this market and bought the most beautiful golden mushrooms! Parking is a real brat and do not park where signs are posted permit only because the local meter maid will give you a ticket and spoil your morning.

Kaylee S.

Yelp
I love going here every year once summer comes around! It's so cute & charming! Everyone is always so friendly and down to earth. I also love where they set it up, it's so perfect being right next to the park and river. They have so many booths/vendors for you to look around, and buy from. It feels good knowing that you're supporting your local businesses! You can tell they put love into whatever you decide to buy whether it's the produce, jams, pastas, or jewelry etc! Its a nice place to go with your family, friends, or a little day date. Btw - You can also get beautiful bouquets of flowers for your sweetheart while you're there too (pretty sure you can buy already made bouquets or make your own, which I think it pretty cool!)

Yelp
Summer life is the best life in that Farmer's Markets are back! In kicking off the season and wanting to experience something new, we opted to explore the Golden Farmer's Market, which was so fun. FIRST of all, the city of Golden is cute, quaint little town nestled in the base of the foothills and gives off the small-town vibes, yet close to the city! Parking is a little tricky in the area, as the surrounding side streets require a parking permit, so be prepared to walk a few blocks, but I assure you, the cute homes and scenery are worth it! SECONDLY, the market itself is small but spread out in a spacious parking lot on the river. It's the perfect size in that it's not overwhelmingly huge but spread out nicely to easily maneuver about. It's arranged in a large square with vendors throughout and food trucks and drinks stationed at in one corner with perfect access to shade and spots to sit. LASTLY, the vendors themselves are wonderfully nice, sweet and provide a unique variety of options! We noshed on fresh croissants, sipped on fresh squeezed lemonade, came home with beautiful handmade jewelry and found it the perfect way to spend the morning! Pro Tip: The market is a quick walk to Main Street, which is filled with shops, restaurants and a killer view of the river. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Wonderful local artists. Chef's, Baker's and Jewlery artisans. Fresh veggies galore. Open air, enjoy on a wonderful Colorado day.

Yelp
Fun market with lots of great vendors. Bought some hibiscus sun tea to make when we get home and some hot sauce that will was delicious as well and out of Boulder Colorado. Also had a cheese vendor and a salami vendor... both with samples. Definitely worth the fight for parking or take the free shuttle near Parfet Park!!

Sally J.

Yelp
Awesome vendors and great location! One of my favorite farmers markets ever! Highly recommend!

Jill J.

Yelp
I used to love going to this farmers market, however Golden has has taken away any of close parking. Even the blocks surrounding the area are permit parking only. I'll be visiting the farmers market at Alameda and Garrison from now on.

Trevor W.

Yelp
My wife and I have attended many a farmer's markets, and this one is one of the best. It isn't very extravagant like some we've been to, but it definitely has a great balance of vendors, food/drinks, and produce. That and a great Vista with the creek just south and the mountains to the west. It is located just west of the Golden Library (see my tip about parking) which is a nice pit-stop for restrooms and respite from the heat (if it is very hot)...that and putting your feet in the water. Come on over to spent an hour or two sampling the fare, bring some bags to take back some nifty items and food, and, if you want, grab something to eat/drink there. Some vendors are here year after year, but sometimes you'll see new ones replace others. Come as early as 8am but get there before 1pm. One more note, there's a Bike Library, where you can 'check-out' a bike at no cost. It'll make riding the trail quite easy. Whatever you do, stop on by, enjoy the time here, relax if you can.

Nick P.

Yelp
The Farmers Market in Golden was fun and provided a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to sauces, art, jewelry and food. It was odd that there were so many lemonade stands but if you want lemonade that is the place to go.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Walking around this market made me feel sad. It was as if a couple of adults got together and decided to have an adult lemonade stand, it is barren and sort of pointless. I'll usually walk through this market if I'm already at clear creek with my husband and dog. On our last visit we did buy some dog treats, but my dog wouldn't even eat them, and I don't think they were organic or flavored with anything special. Two biscuit treats cost $2. All of the other "stands" consisted of generic food vendors and soaps and other things I don't care to buy at a farmers' market. I saw one produce stand, and no one was buying anything. The prices weren't listed anywhere that I could see, and I really don't like asking and then responding with, "WHOA, that's too expensive!" so I just walk by stands with no prices. They need some competition here to 1. fill the parking lot and 2. have more variety.

J. J.

Yelp
Like Cass A., I've been going for (11) years, and the quantity of produce (replaced by companies advertising services) and overall experience has declined dramatically in the last couple of years. I am sad: I miss so many things that used to make going a homey, lovely and unique experience: the horse-drawn carriage, puppet show, alpaca lady and fresh roasted green chile while you wait. At least a few farm goods and the dog-friendly atmosphere persist.

Cass A.

Yelp
This used to be our favorite farmers market. It was large enough to offer a variety of quality products but small enough that it was easy to navigate with two small children (unlike Boulder which is super overwhelming when chasing two kids). For five years we were there first thing in the morning every Saturday from June to October. We'd grab some Pangea coffee (they used to have a booth but now have a shop a block away) and drink it by the river, take the kids to story time at the library just a few feet away from the market and then walk down the creek over to Lions park to eat some of our goodies from the market and play at the park. It was a family tradition. Over the last couple of years, something has happened with the Golden Chamber of commerce and some of the key vendors have left. We don't go anymore because we can no longer get our $10 bags of veggies from Miller Farms, the toffee/chocolate booth is gone, the beef jerky booth is gone, the fresh fish booth is gone... not sure why all our favorite vendors are leaving. And, there has been an increase in commercial vendors, some of which borderline harass you to come into their booth or use annoying gimmicks to get you to try their product. It's really sad and has put a kink in our happy Saturday tradition.

Mariah W.

Yelp
I love this farmers market. I love seeing familiar faces each year. I love the local small businesses that take pride in thier company to produce quality products. It isn't a huge farmers market, but they do have a great variety of items. Another plus side is the Golden river that flows just behind the market. It is a great place to take your shoes off and cool off after or during your time at the market. One tip however. Bring a bag that can keep items cool with maybe a couple ice packs. Some of the items available require refrigeration so without freaking out about getting home to cool them just bring a cooler bag you can carry around. You may need cash for one or two places, but most all these vendors have CC capabilities so don't worry about not going because you don't have cash.

Caroline S.

Yelp
My favorite farmers market in the Denver-golden-boulder area. Fresh cheeses, cherries, tea, bbq sauce, salsa, oil, eggs... Literally anything you could want from a farmers market. Favorite parts- The 10 dollar produce bag. Got around 20 dollars worth of yummy fruits and veggies. All the cute doggies Walking around the creek after

Renee W.

Yelp
GREAT farmer's market!! I wish that there were a few more produce stands but I loved the "grab a bag and fill it for $10" stand - fresh peas! The market is easy to get to and has ample parking as well. Get there early because I have heard it gets packed pretty quickly and vendors run out.

Meagan L.

Yelp
It's a little small, and a few stalls are more commercialized than I would personally like to see. Produce usually looks pretty good and the two different coffee stands both sell good coffee (if a bit pricey...). I like coming early before it gets hot (there isn't shade except at a few tables since its set up in the parking lot) and before it gets crowded. Its nice to get some coffee first thing, sit by the river for a bit and then mosey around to the stalls and then pick what you want to buy. Friendly people and I've gotten pretty good deals on local produce. The largest produce stall on the west side of the lot has $10 bags - as much as you can stuff in a bag. But, I have also gotten better deals on certain organic items at Whole Foods than at some of the other stands. They could use a couple more food trucks with Vegan and GF options too, I think, but there may not be enough space in the parking lot for that. I come a couple of times every summer when I really want farm fresh produce, or Peaches.

Aisha R.

Yelp
I'm a fan of the Golden Farmers' Market! There is a stand that sells beautiful handwoven baskets from Ghana. The baskets are very sturdy and you can fill the basket with fresh produce from Miller Farms (another vendor at the market) for around $20! I filled a $45 basket today with nearly 20 pounds of organic produce and I can return each week to refill my basket! Now that is a bargain! My basket today included corn, eggplant, onions, scallions, cucumbers, tomatoes, snap peas, Brussels sprouts, carrots, a variety of bell and hot peppers, yellow potatoes, yellow and green squash, and strawberries!!!!! They also had spinach, red and russet potatoes, watermelons, cantaloupe, lettuce and asparagus. A beautiful handmade basket and tons of fresh organic produce....who wouldn't love the Golden Farmers Market?!

Yelp
Golden has a local farmer's market that takes place every Saturday morning, beginning in June and going through the first weekend in October. It's not exactly a big market - there's probably about 20 vendors or so - but it's quite fun and very community-oriented. Several places to get good, fresh vegetables and fruits, vendors selling meat and fish, bread and wine, salsa and applesauce, and a whole lot more, sprinkled in with some non-food based stalls (notably one for dogs and pets). Breakfast/brunch can be had at the crepe stall, the delicious breakfast burrito place, or the bbq vendor. There's even horse-drawn carriage rides around town, and an old-fashioned Punch and Judy show for the kids! The prices are, on average, a little higher than I would expect for a Farmer's market, but you can usually find some good deals. On the whole, it's a nice little farmer's market, and definitely a great part of the Golden community.

Crys A.

Yelp
This farmer's market is just okay. As another reviewer said, there aren't a whole lot of produce stands -- just a lot of vendor's stands selling anything from jerky to gyros to essential oils. Which is great, and fun to look at, but when I go to a farmer's market I want to see a lot of (organic, NON-GMO) fruits and veggies. There's not enough of those here, and those that ARE here seem to charge an arm and a leg for their produce. This, I think, is typically the case at the beginning of farmer's market season, and not so much the case later in summer. Later in summer produce prices go down and it's easier to shop for what you need. All that being said, we love to take our Danes to the market and meet the other dog owners ... sometimes it's more like a dog park than anything else. We always get a bite, buy some wine or asparagus, and check out the beautiful clear creek nearby. So it's a good day, I have to say. Just not a ton of produce.

Yelp
This is a great farmers market!!! There is plenty of parking, a huge park a block away and best of all, it's situated right on the creek. They have free horse and carriage rides - it's a great place to bring the family - both young and old to enjoy all Colorado has to offer. It's situated amongst the table mesas and has the best views of any market around Denver. There are plenty of tables with umbrellas to sit and relax - or walk less than a block to sit along the rocks on the creek or in the park. There are plenty of vendors - and to reference the earlier post, that there are 2 main produce stands. However, as the season progresses, specialty growers will come in with cherries, peaches, apples, cantaloupe, corn...etc. These are all Colorado growers - and unless they "import" - they cannot offer everything like a supermarket. Whole foods is nice, but local farmers markets are about supporting the farmers directly, the community as a whole and living the term, "farm to table". The Colorado farmers market experience is just as much about small local businesses as it is for buying fresh fruits and veggies. . All can be found: Homemade jams, the chef who has developed a new sauce to sell, fresh breads and pastries, local coffee roasters, soaps made from all natural ingredients, local artisans and musicians. The Golden Farmers Market has all of this and more. Tip: You can use your cc to purchase market bucks that act like cash with all vendors. Vendors will even give you cash back on them! Just find the Golden Chamber of Commerce Booth in the NE Corner of market, and they can run your card for as much as you want. All vendors will accept the market bucks.

Teresa L.

Yelp
Golden Farmer's Market reopens next Saturday! This is a very dog-friendly event! Tons of dogs of all shapes and sizes. Not a huge selection of vendors but there's everything I need. Some of the highlights: Horse & carriage rides (free!) White Girl Salsa Fresh pasta The crepe guys- seriously, delicious! The breakfast burritos And of course there's the produce. Everything is fresh and varies depending on how early in the season it is. Prices are high, but they seemed on par with other farmers' markets.

Heather M.

Yelp
We love the Golden Farmers Market! We walk there almost every Saturday. If you don't live in walking distance there is plenty of close enough street parking. Some weeks we leave with a bottle of wine and fresh fruits or veggies and other times we just go for breakfast and to walk around. It's dog friendly and the location is next to Clear Creek-a great spot to picnic and enjoy your tasty breakfast burrito! You can easily make a day out of a trip to the Golden Farmers Market if you want to play in the creek, shop downtown, or check out one (or three) of the microbreweries in Golden afterwards. More vendors seem to accept credit card this year but you can always use your card for Market Bucks at the information booth. The charge is only $1, all vendors accept them same as cash and you get actual change back. Save them for next time if you have any leftover. Definitely worth checking out!! Five stars from us :)

Yelp
I love that Golden has its own Farmer's Market. After living in California where Farmer's Markets were held (in some places) every day, it's nice to have the same luxury in a small Colorado town. Pricewise, it's better than the Saturday Boulder Farmer's Market. I personally found Bouder's farmer's market to be grossly overpriced, then again, a lot of things in Boulder are overpriced. Maybe it's because I'm coming from California where it's ridiculously easy to grow produce... It isn't large by any means, but it's a great way to spend a Saturday morning and pick up some great produce. My favorite vendors are Pane Fresco, Pappardelle's Pasta, and De Le Chiva Dairy. There are also a handful of food trucks kicking around. You may regret eating before you visit because the aromas emanating from the vendors will have you wishing you had room in your tummy.

Chris D.

Yelp
We stopped at the Golden Farmer's Market for the first time today, and were pretty impressed. I'd suggest getting there early and taking advantage of the breakfast treats. We had breakfast burritos that were very good. I got a bacon and sausage, and my wife go the bean and egg which was my favorite. With any farmer's market what they sell is dependent on the time of year. It's getting a little late fore lettuce, but we were able to find some. We got some super juicy, organic western slope peaches, locally made sausages, and bacon. We also got a couple bottle of local wine. There were stands with melons, squash, and several food vendors. Great place to take the family, and dogs (unless they're like our nut case dogs)

Terry D.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Friends living in Golden raved about this farmer's market when they lived there, so thought I'd give it a try driving up the canyon last Saturday. It felt like being at a home and garden show at the Merchandise Mart instead of a farmer's market. Supposedly it's changed management since they lived there, but whatever the reason, it is definitely not worth visiting unless you live in downtown Golden.

Meena L.

Yelp
I can't wait until it starts up again. By the sounds of it it has gotten a lot better over the past couple of years, 2014 was much larger than people are describing from previous years. It's not gigantic by any means but it has quite a few produce stands both organic and fill a bag for $10 style, food carts/trucks, baked goods, pickled things, pies, kombucha on draught, local honey and jerky, wines, vinegars and oils, etc. also some seriously delicious tamales. I love it.

Megan G.

Yelp
Definitely my favorite farmers market in the Denver area. For the past two summer we had been going to cherry creek on Saturday mornings or the pearl st. Market in Sunday's...and I have grown to dislike both... Not because they are not quality farmers markets but because they are soooo crowded & there is so much traffic ( especially at cherry creek) fighting to get parking spaces... No just no. I want to enjoy my farmers market Experience from start to finish. Honestly for us, it's only about a 20-25 minute drive ( which with traffic cherry creek could be too) but at least on the way to golden you get to enjoy the view & drive into the foothills. Parking isn't an issue, and once you arrive it is so lovely. The set up is great- more of a square then a long strip, and all the food trucks are on the outside of the market venders which really helps foot traffic . The quality of vendors is fantastic, lots of organic produce & goodies... and dare I say, it seems the folks here are friendlier?! Probably because of all the reasons listed above! I genuinely look forward to going here every single week.

Brian G.

Yelp
The Golden Farmer's Market is a great place to spend a Saturday morning. I would agree with the previous post about the number of vendors. However, the setting more than makes up for the lack of vendors, and the vendors that are there are always great. It is nice to shop for your Saturday night meal and then take a stroll along Clear Creek. We usually buy our produce, pasta, etc, and then head to the park right down the street with the kids. Plenty of parking as well.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Loved this farmer's market, especially the $10 dollar a bag vendor. The veggies were amazingly fresh. Nice location. Dog friendly-which is rare for Farmer's markets.

Mary L.

Yelp
We really could have enjoyed our trip to the Golden Farmer's Market more if there had not been so many pets at market. Often, they do not get along as was the case the day we attended. We love our dog, but I sincerely believe pets should not attend events where food is so tempting to their sensitive noses. We leave our dog home for these trips. I guess I will research a local Farmer's Market where pets do not attend.
