Cozy Vietnamese restaurant serving up my favorite comfort foods. Huge portions - I got the rice plate with flame broiled pork and added shredded pork with extra pickled veggies. The pork tender and had so much flavor, not overcooked or overseasoned by any means and the shredded pork was super yummy. I've had shredded pork where there wasn't enough pork meat, or it had a porky smell but this was just right. The pickled veggies here are slightly on the sweeter side. Overall, I plan on coming back for lunch during my in office days :)

Too good to Go and got a pho! The quantity was satisfied while only the soup was tooooo salty 🥲

First time having Pho with marinated chicken. It was good but not something I would eat often.

Been eating here since my middle school days. They serve up authentic pho along with other Vietnamese dishes. The owner knows me and my family pretty well and is always welcoming. They have one of the best meatballs in town since its homemade and you can smell it once you enter. I definitely recommend this place to any pho lover or to anyone in the area. Definitely will be back!

Google
Authentic and delicious food!! Not everyone speaks English that's how authentic it is. Got the pho #2 large and I could barely finish it. Beef was tender as we're all the meats. Veggies fresh and the cilantro tasted freshly picked. Can't go wrong here and very well priced.

Google
Authentic Vietnamese cuisine with many offerings. Pho is good and very large portions. Many options to choose from. Friendly staff.

Great customer service! Hot and delicious food. So happy we found it! Loved the oolong tea as well

Google
Absolutely unacceptable and egregious experience! I patronized this places food twice with an unsuccessful third attempt. The time I stopped in the food service and atmosphere was great. The second time I noticed a bit a change in the cashier ladies attitude (she was nowhere near how welcoming she was the first time) but I didn’t pay it any mind. When I got home I checked my order and it was the worst noodles I’ve EVER HAD. My guess is, like most re staurants in Chinatown, you have to be Asian to expect an acceptable level of service. The third time I tried to get coffee they told me they no longer serve it. Whaaaaa??? A Vietnamese restaurant without Vietnamese iced coffee? That’s like having my kitchen without a single piece of silverware in it. The food wasnt good, I didn’t enjoy it! And I would only recommend this place to Asian patrons! I would advise others to be mindful when dining at these places. Sometimes what you think is chicken or pork is not!

Yelp
Best authentic Vietnamese restaurant in China Town San Francisco. We had cha gio as appetizer. I had one large Pho very good. My wife ate chicken salad as usual since years extremely delicious

Yelp
Vietnamese restaurant located in Chinatown's Jackson Street for many years. Used to eat here all the time because of my dad's office was nearby. Now we occasionally order delivery. Located on Jackson and Wentworth Pl.

Yelp
My wife has been coming to San Francisco for over 20 years, and the Golden Flower is one stop she always makes. This was my first time. What's so special? The Lemon Beef! Sliced thin, and served very rare, OK, raw, it is delicious. It's the main reason we came, and the reason we will come back. We've had similar dishes elsewhere, and it never comes close to Golden Flower's version. We also had my favorite Banh Xeo, a type of crepe. It was OK. Our last dish was the charbroiled pork and shrimp, on a bed of vermicelli. Very good. If you like Vietnamese, don't walk past the Golden Flower without stepping in.

Yelp
48. 5 spice chicken with imperial rolls Came for one thing only and was really disappointed. The chicken was marinated in way too much soy sauce AND I'm assuming salt. Never had too much sodium? Lemme tell ya... excessive thirst, bloating, headaches. Chicken was cooked fairly well but I ordered 5 spice chicken, not soy sauce chicken with hints of spice. Good flavor in imperial rolls but wasn't a fan of the wraps they used which were really chewy kind of like mochi. Didn't see a lot of 5 spice chicken pictures and now I know why. Service was better than normal for a Chinese restaurant but I'd rather take good food any day.

Yelp
Have been coming to this spot since I was a teen. Stopped by for lunch with my dad. We got the usual pho combo and the bun w/ egg rolls. Portions were huge! Service was quick.

Yelp
Phở was not authentic it was alright.. The noodle is the small pho type and the broth was light and not so flavorful. Never have I put siracha & hoisin sauce in a bowl of pho but this one I had to put both in. It tasted better after. There was a man that sat in front of me. Not sure if he works around there or at the restaurant but the whole time I was eating there he was smiling and staring at me very creepy. I didn't try to cause a scene so I was just minding my business and just try to eat... but it was a scary experience. (Im a female that go alone and there was not much ppl in the restaurant) This is only my experience. I have not try the other food nor come here more than that 1 time. I bet they might have other specialty. There is no photos of the bowl of pho because of that creepy guy, I tried to just finish my food and get out.

Yelp
I swear we've been here before, but this place has amazing Bun Bo Hue! Great service, but maybe since there was no one else there during dinner. Dipping the rare meat into the pho was so tasty and juicy. I'm not sure if they got new owners or what, but worth trying again if you haven't been here in a while. Our new go to for bun Bo hue

Yelp
Such a great place for pho! The inside was super cute and the rare steak pho we had was absolutely delicious. The service was super fast and the workers were super friendly!

Yelp
My first experience here back in 1998 was incredible. Imperial rolls to pho on the cheap. Back in 98 it was $5.00 for a bowl. It's obviously pricier nowadays but still very reasonable and delicious. Every time I get back to SF, I stop in. Such nice people too.

Yelp
Superrrrrrr Very good food for the first time! I'll be back, very friendly personal our order very yumm

Rachit A.

Yelp
Pho Ga - 2/5 Veggie Pho - 2/5 Will eat here again - 2/5 , No. Looks like the place has had either a change in management or some other change as the food is not as good as before. The chicken in the Pho Ga was very raw, and a little pink in places and the Veggie Pho had a lot of Bok Choy in it.

Yelp
Bo tai chanh was okay, Pho was really bad. I was craving a bowl of pho today after work around 6:30 PM. This was the closest "Vietnamese" restaurant to my workplace and still open, I was like .. okay, let's see of this place. I ordered extra large number 1 & number 30. Disappointing. This is Taishanese owned not really Vietnamese owned restaurant. The worst bowl of pho I've ever had anywhere on this earth.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from Fantuan since there was a good deal. It took 50ish minutes for it to arrive and by the time it did the broth was cold. My bad on ordering soupy hot items, I could tell it was piping hot from the plastic container. The price is unbeatable for the portions. I wish there was more meat for the vermicelli chicken bowl. Beef pho #1 was standard, nothing to complain about. I've walked past here and passed up on dining due to the small space but I'd probably dine in the next time I'm craving pho.

Dave E.

Yelp
Hands down, best pho in the city. The chicken pho broth is savory and delicious. I've been coming here for over 10 years. The lady who owns Golden Flower still remembers me after all these years, even though I disappeared for a few of them. It's a feel good, family restaurant with authentic dishes. Support local, small business and give them a try. We need these kind of restaurants to survive in the city.

Yelp
I got a surprise bag from the app "too good to go" which helps restaurants eliminate food waste by offering food to customers at a discount. It is always hit or miss with the surprise bags, but for 6.99$ I received a beef tendon pho with bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapenos. I personally loveee beef tendon, the chewy fattiness was delicious. But I know my partner is not a fan, in which case a surprise bag like that would not have been appealing. The broth was flavorful and the tendon was good. It perhaps wasn't as large as their normal meals, but still satisfying.

Yelp
My friend recommended me this place. I rarely go to Chinatown but when I am in the area I always get pho and boba. When we first entered, we were greeted by a very kind lady. This place has a homely feeling and the staff is very kind and sweet. I ordered a medium A5. The broth is AMAZING. Some of the best pho broth I've ever had. When it comes to pho restaurants, I look for amazing broth and quantity of noodles since some places skamp on noodles and this place hits the jackpot. I rarely go to Chinatown but the next time I'm in the area, I'll be sure to return.
google avatar

Yelp
The broth was okay. Didn't taste that good for a small size priced at $11.95. We were sat down and served our orders pretty quickly though.
google avatar

Ellie R.

Yelp
I went to the Golden Flower with a friend, and the service was quick, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was serene. The staff was very friendly and attentive, they brought out water and tea, and offered us to go containers when we were too full. The servings are big, we ordered to medium bowls and was surprised by how hefty the servings were. The prices were well within reason for the serving size! Check this place out, it's family owned.

Jason K.

Yelp
Foods are not good at all, the veggies are not fresh, soups not hot and the noodles are not softened. And the bun bo hu, where's the meats?? This is the horrible place I've went to and expensive. I'm not recommending this restaurant to anyone
google avatar

Yelp
amazing, strong, and authentic vietnamese iced coffee! the service was great! they have a pretty big menu so they have many food options:)
google avatar

Tina O.

Yelp
We come here often. The owner wow works behind the counter is very nice and personable. He always remembers me and asks how the kids are doing everytime. I love their lemon rare beef, very fresh. I usually go for the pork chop over rice with a fried egg on top.
google avatar

Christiane F.

Yelp
Stop by here on a Sunday and it was just what we needed. The pho and noodles were delicious, the place was cozy and the service was great.
google avatar

Yelp
This one is nostalgic since I came here as a kid when my parents took me to Chinatown. The flavor of their pho broth is absolutely unchanged and I felt like the critic from Ratatouille when he had the flashback. This place is not the prettiest and the tables are kind of cramped but the food is still solid and they give you a huge portion of noodles, normally I can finish an extra large at any other pho place but I could not finish it at this spot. So if you're in Chinatown and you want a huge portioned solid bowl of pho, then come here.
google avatar

Peter H.

Yelp
The pho ga (chicken noodle soup) is great. A ton of noodles. Been going here for years and love this place! Very pretty inside and the staff always recognizes me.

Emily L.

Yelp
A yummy neighborhood pho spot! The decor is very cute and home-y and I really enjoyed the broth in the pho tai. I also appreciate how they offer different pho sizes. We didn't get a chance to chat with the staff much but there's a friendly lady who I think is the owner and she was very sweet.

Yelp
ROACHES EVERYWHERE!! Went for the first time tonight, waiter was extremely rude. Right before getting my food I noticed 2 different HUGE cockroaches crawling around near my table.
google avatar

Nina Z.

Yelp
Came here back in December on a chilly SF winter evening. Hole-in-the-wall in Chinatown. The pho definitely hit the spot! My only issue was that the staff spoke minimal English; some speak Cantonese, some speak Vietnamese. Thankfully, we had someone at our table who could speak both Cantonese and Vietnamese, but it makes it difficult to order, ask for the check, etc. Otherwise, the pho here is legit (according to our Vietnamese acquaintance) and the price can't be beat!

A A.

Yelp
I ordered a pho. Noodle portion is huge. Soup is warm and not hot enough. Soup tastes average and needs more flavor. Deduct to 2 star because the tendon topping is missing and the waiter has no intention to give me change.
google avatar

Emily X.

Yelp
Ordered a combo pho (no. 1) in a size medium (you can change the size even though it's listed as extra large, but I was very disappointed. Sadly, I didn't notice until halfway through that I did not receive all the items from the combo. I only got the rare beef, well done brisket, and tripe. There were no meatballs or tendons - my favorite items from a combo. I should've realized sooner, but I had already eaten about half the dish and didn't want to bother asking the waiter. Suffice to say, I will not come back. The price, however, was fairly decent (~$12 for a medium.

Yelp
Such good value for the amount and quality of food! Ordered the shrimp and pork rolls for appetizer and the house special combo pho. #1 house special combo- The pho broth was clear and didn't feel too greasy or salty. It was the perf meal for a cold day! The meat was actual edible potions and not the fatty parts. There were generous portions of meat that was well-balanced with the amount of noodles. Didn't feel like it was just a lot of broth so it's def really filling. You can order the other numbers on the menu if you wish to forgo the beef balls, tendons, etc., to customize the order. Shrimp and pork rolls- the rolls were def packed full with filling and you can see the whole shrimp. I could taste the freshness of the veggies. Also, the peanut dipping sauce was flavorful and generous for the 2 rolls (they're cut in half so you'll get 4 pieces). Overall, the meal was a great value! I like how they're open late so you can go when you get cravings for pho or other Viet foods, especially when it's cold. The staff were friendly and service was quick. Would def recommend!

Yelp
Came here after realizing the wait for Z&Y was way too long, and they had no wait! Honestly pretty decent food given the cheap price point, and the interior is really unique with the decor. My pho wasn't amazing but not bad for $12. The imperial rolls were crispy and delicious too! Only annoyance was the amount of flies inside the place.
google avatar

Valerie L.

Yelp
a very small place next to an alleyway. It's usually pretty dark in here. I came in the afternoon and there weren't that many people in there. Service was great though. I ordered the #1 and it was pretty tasty, but wish the soup had more flavor. It doesn't have as much meat as other viet places, but great value!

Yelp
It was my first time here and it's located right in Chinatown. This restaurant is pretty small and there were about three servers. I've been to quite a few pho restaurants in SF but haven't found one that serves shrimp and pork spring rolls until I came here. The fish sauce that came with it has been the best one I've tried thus far. It went perfectly well with the rolls, almost as if it's homemade. One of the things I liked about this restaurant is that they offer sizes for the bowls ranging from small to x-large. I got a large combination and it was so amazing!!! The broth is the best broth I've tried in SF. I couldn't really explain it but it was perfect. I don't eat pho without chili oil, so glad I asked for it!!! This chili oil tasted like homemade, it was good and spicy. The food is so good. The fish sauce and spring rolls paired well, and the chili oil with the pho was even better. Definitely give the food 5/5. When we arrived to the restaurant around 10am, no one was inside. There were 4 of us. As we were eating our food, the restaurant starts getting busy. Other than having to wait for over 20 mins on our tab, everything was so fulfilling! Also this place is about a 10 minute walk from my apartment so I know I'll be coming back for more! I made sure to pack some of that chili oil home lol.

Yelp
Wow. I just had dinner here again and can't recommend this restaurant enough. The menu is excellent. Have dined here probably a hundred times and have always been very very happy. The owner, Kim, is delightful. She is very friendly, in a completely genuine way. I just discovered I can have a Vietnamese breakfast, including their unbelievable Vietnamese coffee, delivered by Door Dash. Yes! Food is great. Service is great. Ambience is great, a perfect little family-run place!
google avatar

Yelp
This was a hidden gem! We really wanted some Phó, so we looked around and randomly chose this spot. It seemed to be family run. The couple who served us were so sweet! The food tasted so delicious. We ordered the vegetarian phó and the flavor was amazing! We will definitely be back here again someday!
google avatar

Janny W.

Yelp
Had a sudden craving for vermicelli noodles so I've decided to order their bun heo nuong (flame-broiled pork) & Bun bo nuong (beef) ! Both were absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of meat it came with. Currently open for takeout! Please check them out and try this for yourself! BONUS: I can always appreciate when a restaurant serves you two servings of fish sauce instead of one!
google avatar

Charles M.

Yelp
I struggled with this rating because this spot has so much potential and deserving of maybe 4 stars but I'll share my experience which felt right to rate them at 3 stars. The food was pretty good. I ordered the brisket Pho and shrimp rolls and I would order it again. The peanut sauce for the shrimp rolls was lacking flavor but other than that the items were fresh and reasonably source with the appropriate portion. The customer service is where the restaurant could improve significantly. All of the yelling and bickering within the team was a little off putting and distracting. There were a pile of dirty dishes in visible sight area and the utensils/chopsticks were available without being washed and stored at each table. The menu is diverse and the people seemed to enjoy the food so I would try it again!
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
Good Vietnamese crispy pan fried noodles here. I had their #43, Golden Noodle (Special) $14. The crispy pan fried noodles weren't dense enough, but it was flavorful. The noodles had the perfect firmness with a fluffy crunch. They used thicker egg noodles than Chinese pan fried noodles giving it a unique crunch. The gravy had good "wok hay", a deep, smoky oil flavor. The assorted toppings include fish cake, imitation crab meat, minced garlic, shrimps and vegetables. The plate looked big, but there really weren't enough noodles compared to other restaurants that serve this dish. Regardless, it was a good meal. The service was great as I was the only person dining indoors tonight.

Yelp
I got this rice plate with burnt pork (Com Thit Heo Nuong)!!! See the yellow circle of my photo. Eating burnt food will give you CANCER!!! I'll NEVER come back!!!
google avatar

Tanusree M.

Yelp
We ordered a too good to go order from here. We got spring rolls and a noodle plate. It would've easily cost at least $15-20 if we had gotten those dishes in the store, but on too good to go, it was only $5! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I have been meaning to try Golden Flower Vietnamese Restaurant for a while. I had the chance to try it for take-out once and enjoyed it enough to want to go back to dine-in! The venue is charming in a wholesome, hole-in-the-wall kind of way. The ladies who work here are super nice! I have only ordered the #1 Pho Xe Lua - Beef combo. I don't normally like tripe or meatballs, but I wanted to see how special this would be. I thought it was delicious! You get far less when you order take-out. The noodles also get really weird a chunky because they're crammed in the take-out box and there aren't nearly as many beef fillings. Delicious, I finished this bowl with no problem. Dine-in was a much different experience. The bowl was so big that I had leftovers. Though mostly broth and noodles, it was enough to be a small bowl. Overall, I really enjoy Golden Flower Vietnamese Restaurant! The only thing I can complain about it the take-out. I understand there are certain limits to take-out, but it was such a difference that I personally would avoid it and dine-in instead. I'm still interested in trying other dishes and am looking forward to my next dine-in visit!
google avatar

Mirba E.

Yelp
I just took a few bites of my takeout lunch just now and all I can say is TASTY! I got the imperial roll and flamebroiled pork vermicelli bowl. Both the roll and pork were excellent, great flavor. Roll has nice crispy outside, tender inside. Pork has a nice smoky flame broiled taste that IMO is hard to come by. I also noticed this place is a tad cheaper than other nearby Vietnamese eateries, even thru the yelp takeout app.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Laughably bad delivery experience. Containers were 90 % rice and 10% disappointment. Ordered a shrimp entree that had a whopping 3 mini shrimp buried under 3 cups of rice. Do recommend however if someone is on a strictly rice diet.

Christian H.

Yelp
Kim is amazing, the food was delicious. Not a long wait at all! The way the chow mein hung from my chopsticks displaying all the bits of meat and herbs. It was fantastic, definitely coming here more often!

Martha M.

Yelp
Awful! Back to back seating. Food was horrible/ disgusting. Waste of time and money. Tacky decor. I was expecting the opposite, sadly disappointed. Can I say YUCK!
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
Golden Flower is my go to Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. It's a short walk from the Financial District and they are open later than most restaurants in the area. It truly a hidden gem. My go to items on the menu are #30 Bo Tai Chanh Salad - beef carpaccio topped with basil, peanuts and fried shallots #40 Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio - flame broiled pork with imperial rolls vermicelli bowl The pork is so tasty. You'll love it! Any if their pho's on a cold SF night Also, the owner Kim is the sweetest!! Tip her well

Yelp
Came in at 4pm on a Sunday and was seated immediately. I should have expected that since this restaurant is in the heart of chinatown, the servers do not speak Vietnamese. When i tried to order in Viet, they had to call the owner over to take my order. Food/drinks: Soda sua hot ga - This is a drink with club soda, condensed milk, and raw egg yolk. This tasted delicious and reminded me of the ones my mom used to make growing up. For those that have never had it, it is very sweet and creamy, but also refreshing since it is mixed with club soda. Pho tai nam - The pho broth was nice and rich. Past the broth, there's not much more i look for in my pho. The meats were both fairly standard, but I will say the brisket was definitely on the fattier side, even for brisket. There were definitely some whole pieces of fat from the brisket i had to leave untouched at the end. Overall though, a solid bowl of pho and I will be back.

Yelp
One person spoke pretty good English, the others on duty were still studying. I don't know Vietnamese so there's that. We ordered spring rolls. Very good. I ordered I guess a Chinese dish with shrimp, also very good. My girlfriend got a wonderful Vietnamese dish with pork, vegetables and other delights. Outstanding.
