I love a bookstore that has lots of those cards providing staff recommendations and displays that are curated to highlight books you might not have found on your own. Golden Hare does both so well and I always leave having found books I’m excited about but hadn’t heard about before. The staff are lovely and it’s just a delightful shop.

told myself i wouldn’t buy books today. told myself many lies, it turns out. it was over the moment i saw all the little post-it notes with personalised recommendations. the genre spread is so exquisite i dissociated briefly. there was also a real fireplace, which i assume was there to weaken my defences. i was set up to fail. i will be back.

Golden Hare Books is a beautifully curated little gem. The selection is small in the best possible way — thoughtfully chosen, easy to browse, and full of books you immediately want to take home. It truly feels like they have something for everyone. The staff are warm and friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of the shop. A wonderful independent bookstore well worth a visit.

Very positive experience! I ordered several books as a birthday gift and was contacted by a very friendly staff member asking whether I would like gift wrapping and a card — free of charge! She went out of her way to handwrite my text in German and even took the time to verify the address (which was indeed incorrect). Many thanks for the effort and the time. I now know where I’ll be buying my gifts in the future! Yet another reason to support shops like this instead of large, impersonal companies.

Lovely bookstore & the book selection are quite different from the mainstream ones. The children section was cozy & we spend a longer time there selecting books for the little ones! Truly a gem & must go!

If you’re someone who loves bookstores, don’t skip over this one. Wonderful mixture between popular and unique titles. Store was beautiful, staff was very kind and we were able to pick up a book my wife was looking for! I’d highly recommend!

Fabulous book launch event hosted at the Golden Hare. Interviewer was very knowledgeable about the author and his books. The shop had a really excellent range of books and genres. Useful cards on books to help with selections too. I'll definitely return to shop there.

Swoon. I am completely taken by this independent bookshop. - Head over heels! This is the book haven of my dreams, with a warm fire and suitably good tunes in the background. Golden Hare is all classics and interesting new reads, pointing you boldly in the direction of something different. And I really, really like that. I popped in for a present, and after quite the browse, found the perfect book for the occasion. I had to show some serious restraint because so, so many of the books stood out to me. I loved the super-cute brown tags which hung from each of the shelves and categorised the shop into genres. They also had a pretty neat looking selection of graphic novels; something I've been meaning to get stuck into for a while. Service was chirpy, which was the cherry on the cake. I just couldn't resist telling them how lovely their bookshop is, and now I can't resist telling you.

This is a uniquely decorated shop. Its adorable. I love perusing bookshops whenever I travel and this one was lovely to skim through. They didn't have the book I was looking for but I enjoyed the time spent there also. Bright books against white walls, its like a candyshop!

Such a cute store! They have great books, many that have unique covers. The books tend to be more expensive here than other places, but it is still worth a visit just to look around!
