Golden Horseshoe Barbecue

While this texas bbq joint didnt completely corral me, I get why lots of people lineup for and love it. The Good: Pork ribs were fall off the bone tender and tasty. The brisket had a good smoke. The cornbread had the perfect melted butter on top that soaked its crumbliness well. The key lime pie was tasty tarty and crusty. The mustard sauce they had on the table was amazing. The Meh: The sausage was a bit tough. The pork belly burnt ends were a bit too fatty. The side beans and corn were ok. The lines are long, but it serves quicker than how it looks. Most seating is counter, though there are some booths. Prices are what prices are these days. Overall, a good spot if you want good bbq.

Traveled all the way from Burlington and man, it was absolutely worth the journey. Also definitely worth the price given the quality meats you are getting. This was hands down the best BBQ I have ever had! We were greeted by such a warm and welcoming staff. Arrived with a group of friends and we had one of everything, including the beef rib special. Each protein was tender, juicy, perfectly rendered and had their own distinct flavour profile. All sides were amazing, too! Man, these guys don't miss. Creamy and flavour-packed Mac and cheese, saucy Pinto beans with tex-mex spices, moist honey cornbread, esquites (mexican corn salad, my fav), perfect slaw to cut through the richness of it all (radishes were a nice touch) and a very surprising Texas red chili which ended up being one of my fav sides! Right down to their two bbq sauces, (one red one golden mustard), complimentary brioche, pickled onions and pickles, everything was on point. Definitely don't miss out on dessert either! The banana pudding was absolute perfection, but I'll be back for those cookies! I'm originally from Toronto, so seeing this historic building brought back to life is SO nice to see. 11/10 Golden Horseshoe! Thanks for doing what you do!

Overall food quality is great As others have said, they make solid sides. The meats: it is on its way to being pretty good. I found the seasoning to be a bit heavy and the tender/juiciness of the brisket, pulled pork, ribs needing some improvement. Flavor wise I can taste a bit of smokiness but I was hoping for more. To each there own but I like heavier smoky taste. Their BBQ sauce makes up for a lot of the missing points and balances out things nicely. The staff are super friendly and love their BBQ. They explained how they are continuously tweaking and improving and I am looking forward to return and try it again!

I just ate THE best authentic Texas barbecue in the city! I ordered their brisket, pork ribs, and pork belly burnt ends. Their rub on the brisket was perfect, it had the right amount of saltiness with a smokey flavour. We chose the fatty end of the brisket and it really kept the meat moist. The pork ribs were tender with lots of meat surrounding the bone. Our favourite were the pork belly burnt ends. It had the perfect texture with a slightly burnt crust that was sweet and savoury, and had me wanting more. I also ordered the coleslaw and green bean potato salad as sides. The potato salad was slightly pickled, and surprisingly acted as a great complement to cut into the heaviness of the meats. Shoutout to the owners Andrew and Kris! I came with my wife and 1 year old, and they helped us set up a high chair to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. They also made their way around the tables to make sure everyone’s needs were taken care of. Excellent service!

I’m not exaggerating when I say this might be some of the best BBQ in Toronto. We ordered the brisket, pork ribs, mac & cheese, Texas chili, and banana pudding, and not a single bite disappointed. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and you can taste the love in everything they make. If you’re anywhere near Dupont, go. Your stomach will thank you.

what a great team of people working there! I took my two year-old daughter and a friend there for lunch today and not only was the barbecue. Some of the best I ever had in my life. I had a great experience with Service also. very accommodating and is even offered a tour of the barbeque pit. The owner came by everyone’s tables to see how their meal was, which I really appreciated. The brisket was by far the star of the show, but I do have to say the hidden gem was the turkey and the ribs. They were by far the best barbeque turkey and ribs I have ever had in my life also, the cheddar biscuit was phenomenal. highly recommend adding that to the order. thanks again for the wonderful experience your place lived up to the hype.

Golden Horseshoe BBQ absolutely blew us away. The food was incredible — rich, smoky, perfectly cooked barbecue with sides that were just as impressive. We got lucky and managed to snag the beef ribs before they sold out, and they were unreal: tender, flavorful, and easily some of the best we’ve had in the city. If we had one tiny critique, it’s that the cutlery was plastic. a real fork and knife would’ve made tackling those ribs a bit easier, haha. But honestly, when the food is this good, it barely matters. We’ll definitely be back. I left with a bottle with the yellow bbq sauce.

When we heard there was a new barbecue joint supposedly offering up authentic Texas BBQ, it was just a matter of time before we showed up to eat some meat. We arrived a few minutes after they opened on a recent Saturday and the place already had a fairly significant lineup, to the point where it took a full half hour to order and get our food. I'd say it was worth the wait, though. We decided to share a platter with brisket, sausage, beans, and coleslaw. While I can't say any of the items knocked my socks off, everything was very well prepared and quite tasty. The lack of smoke in the brisket was a disappointment, however, although it wasn't a surprise. I've never managed to find a place in the GTA that sells the kind of deeply smoky barbecue they do in the southern United States. Still, the brisket was super tender and the sausage was packed with flavor. The beans and slaw were decent but nothing to write home about, ultimately. The ribs looked phenomenal, so I assume we'll be returning at some point to try those.

Had an ultimate meat nirvana experience at Golden Horseshoe. Wanted to try once they announced two specials! Smoked Pastrami Brisket( I picked fatty instead of lean) - texture, quality & thickness was just done right. It was a heaven in my mouth once assembled with mustard, pickled cukes & onion on a piece of rye bread. Char Siu Pork Belly Burnt Ends.The best Char Siu glaze I have ever had. Not overly sweet and nice hint of hoisin sauce. It was a perfect match with smoked belly. If you are a pickles lover, get more pickles!!! They are excellent! Thanks for the special memu!

The place has a line up from open to close. We were there at 1230 and they ran out of smoked chicken. We ordered the ribs and pork belly. It was very good, service mess excellent. The corn salad has a little bit of a kick. It's wasn't bbq gasm, but it was darn good and worth returning to.
