Golden Tulip Zanzibar Resort

Everyone was extremely helpful, with everything, literally! The room was beautiful, they helped with my sisters birthday. I would highly recommend this hotel. Even wake up to the beach out the window and you can walk over there and see it. I would definitely return over and over again ! I love Zanzibar on the whole.

The operation manager refused to give us 1 extra bottle of water on our check out day knowing that they only give us 2 bottles on the day before and said on the check out day you can't have water and you need to pay for !! We ordered room service for over 50$ and you can't provide 1$ bottle? I never seen this in any other hotel in the world, also they missed with our luggage while we are out of room and we didn't complain, he should at least give us the water as a compensation for what happened but no Also we asked for a hair dryer and an iron they brought it but the next day they took it ! Even though we had more night and we needed to use it Overall very unpleasant experience and I don't recommend anyone to book with

Stayed at this hotel for a couple nights during. A visit to Zanzibar. Great hotel, big rooms, decent beds but dated. Service was top. Happy overall. I would recommend staying here if you’re on a budget. The pool was a little dated and needed some e servicing and maintenance as the water was greening a bit too much.

Mariam was great! Very sweet and happy to help. Definitely made the trip better. The hotel room could definitely have some improvements, but overall the stay here was comfortable.

My stay at Golden Tulip was not great. Incorrect Beds/Room: We did not get the rooms we paid for. There were supposed to be two beds in each room due to the number of guests. Each room had one bed. When we arrived on the first day - they said they will fix this when we returned from our day; that did not happen. Unfortunately they provided us with tiny metal cots even after they confirmed it would be separate beds. We were booked to stay in this hotel from July 25th until August 1st - sleeping on a metal cot for that much time is unacceptable. When we asked to speak to a manager we were told the manager was not available. When our booking agent tried to contact their reservation manager she stopped answering the phone. It wasn't until day 3 that they provided us with the correct number of beds. Towels There were a limited number of pool/beach towels - not enough for all guests. When we finally got towels- they were not in the best shape. Condition of Rooms One of our rooms had a clogged shower - the plumber came and said there was nothing he can do "it's broken, use the other bathroom." This room also had a broken window in the bathroom - allowing for there to be bugs, lizards etc get in. There was a sink leaking in another room, but fixed. Shower doors constantly got stuck. Also there is no direct access to the beach and the pool is dirty. I would not stay here again and I would not recommend.

We checked in after 11:00 PM, yet a kind staff member still prepared a hot and fresh dinner for us — a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the rest of our visit. Every morning, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The consistency and kindness of the staff stood out. Everyone we interacted with was polite, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The reception team was always attentive, the restaurant staff made every mealtime a pleasure, and the kitchen team consistently delivered delicious meals. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the service was excellent and the food was fresh and flavorful. The resort’s team truly went above and beyond at every opportunity. We never felt like just another guest — we were treated with care and respect, and that made all the difference. I could write a full page about how wonderful the service was. It’s rare to find such consistent hospitality across every department, and we’re so grateful for the warm and professional experience. The resort offered a pleasant stay. The rooms were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The pool area was a highlight, perfect for relaxing. A good choice for a quiet getaway

The rooms were clean and functional however outdated and needed better aesthetics.|For example the shower had one container for soap and non for shampoo or conditioner. Toilet bowl lid was shaky and flimsy. |Towels were clean but seemed like they were used. Not very white and not as thick. No wash cloth size towels were provided. |Pool was cold and didn’t seem crystal clear. |Front Desk very helpful and pleasant. |Restaurant staff very helpful and sweet. Queen Africa was very honest one day when I forgot something at the table. I truly appreciated that.
