Goldene Rose Karthaus

This hotel is really very special. Not only is it beautifully located in a peaceful alpine village, it is the service which sets it apart. Between us, we've travelled a lot but we have never experienced service like it. We had a flat tyre en-route, but the wonderful staff ensured that we arrived in the end and the restaurant was kept open for us...nothing was too much trouble. This was a theme throughout our stay...encountering staff who are friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. We were humbled by our stay here-we had great service without feeling served. The wooden walkway serves as the transition between high-end hotel and isolate mountain spa that was so tranquil. Breakfast was spectacular...taken on the terrace and presented in stages...from the bread baked on site to lovely bowls of fruit and more. The owners were very present and if all hotels trained their staff in this way, there would be no need for an option of less than 5 stars on Trip Advisor :-) We would love to return.

Wonderful find in the breathtaking village of Certosa (Karthaus). Stefania and Paul were perfect hosts and their love of the mountains and hospitality showed in every aspect of our stay. Staff were genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and perfectly executed. We will be back and plan to stay longer next time. Highly recommend this gem!

We recently stayed at the Golden Rose with our family. The hotel itself is exceptionally comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully considered to ensure a relaxing stay. What really stood out, however, was the care and attention shown by every member of team we came across; nothing was too much trouble, and the team consistently went above and beyond to make our time with them memorable.|We would not hesitate to recommend the Golden Rose to anyone looking for genuine hospitality, comfort, and excellence in every way.

We stayed here in September 2024. I hesitated for a long time about whether or not to write this review. After letting it sink in for several months, I've decided to write it after all. We chose this hotel because it had excellent reviews and dogs are allowed. Let's start on a positive note: the food is delicious. We were also given a friendly welcome. However, this quickly changed. We had a room on the street side, just below the hotel terrace. On the first evening, there was an event in the village. Some people (I don't know if they were guests) decided to continue the party in the bar and on the hotel terrace. After 10 p.m., there was still a lot of noise. We reported this to reception, but not much was done about it. To our great annoyance, there was still a lot of noise until well after midnight. That's why we asked the next morning if we could have another room. At first, the hotel owner didn't really believe us and reacted with surprise, but in the end, they tried to find a solution , which we thought was positive. When we returned to the hotel on the second day after a nice walk, we were immediately called by the owner. It was as if we had been reported, because as soon as we set foot in the reception area, the receptionist called the owner over. We were addressed sternly: 'Are you properly insured? I didn't understand the question. The owner continued (in front of all the other guests). “Yes, your dog damaged the door of the room. It's covered in scratches.” I tried to remain calm and said that I found this hard to believe. We have stayed in hotels with our dog many times and have never had any problems. Our dog does not suffer from separation anxiety. A whole discussion ensued and the owner also went with us to the room to show us the damage. It was clear to us that these were scratches that had been there for a long time. They were clearly not fresh. Moreover, they were much too high to have been made by our (medium-sized dog). Nevertheless, the discussion continued. In the end, they couldn't prove anything, so they had to drop it. But our stay at this hotel was completely ruined. We just wanted to leave. This hotel is far from (dog) friendly. I would advise them to no longer allow dogs. And to take a course on “how to deal with customers in certain situations”. The way we were spoken to was downright rude and aggressive. Other guests just stood there while we were being accused of something. Finally, I also wonder whether regular guests (without dogs) are also addressed in this way if they cause damage in the room. Because, in all honesty, we have to say that the room also showed a lot of wear and tear from normal guests. Are they also asked if they are properly insured? See also the photos I am adding to this review. It is also very surprising that the cleaning service has time to make such reports when they would be much better off clearing up the dead flies.

I couldn’t be happier with the service, atmosphere, food and location. If I could give 50 stars I would. Dinner was exceptional, my server was friendly, helpful, and polite. Davide at front desk helped me with my arrival after airline troubles. Truly amazing. I have never experienced an SLH like this one. Goldene Rose Karthaus is the winner of them all.

An excellent base for our hiking and so many walks to access close by . The hotel was amazing . Rooms large and very comfortable with great shower and a good large heating rail to help washing !! and the food across every meal was excellent . ( they have one star Michelin ) . The pool area is fantastic and such a good tetreat after the hiking . The service from all staff is outstanding . ||Hotel highly recommended

We had the perfect stay here! From the moment we walked in, the receptionist Lisa made sure to assist us in every way possible and helped make our honeymoon trip perfect. Ever staff person we encountered was both professional and incredibly friendly. The spa and sauna areas were relaxing and the views cannot be matched! The food was amazing and we are still missing the breakfasts we had there! We can’t wait to come back and stay here again.
