Cool old west town with great desert mountain views. Had a chicken sandwich and delicious Sasparilla for lunch in the Saloon. Bought a die cast cap gun revolver for my son in the toy store. Die cast metal. Good quality.

Google
It was a very cute town. They have fun people on the train ride and mine tours with lots of interesting facts. We ate at the Saloon and they had live music. Lots of gift shops! Free to get into Ghost town and wander but $10.00 and up for everything else. We had a great time. Beautiful view of the Superstition Mtn.

Google
Tourist trap. The staff was friendly. The building didn't feel authentic. I bought the combo tickets - mine tour, mystery shack and train ride. Mine tour was informative, interesting but short. The mystery shack does not allow you to carry babies in and when I bought combo tickets at mining tour booth they failed to tell me that even though I made sure to ask questions about having a baby. Train was was neat ride and the conductor had great stories! I'm a sucker for gift shops but didn't buy anything because it felt too over priced. Bathrooms were clean. Overall worth checking out at least once.

Google
After watching this mining town on ghost adventures and tfil overnight Elton it was awesome to check it out in person. The tour guides were awesome in listening to people and their experiences. Actually using an EMF detector and letting us have moments in silence to interact with any entity. *Only issue is there should maybe be a age limit for the night tour because there were a few children that would keep interrupting silence moments or just talking and didn't want to be in the dark which was a little disruptive. The town looks like it would be fun to check out in the day time

Google
Great way to spend a few hours. Family friendly! The food in the saloon was great! We loved the mystery box. From zip lining to the mine tour, the shops and food everything was fantastic. I highly recommend! Even on hot summer days you can cook off in the buildings. Bring cash to tip the guides!

Google
This place was so cool. Had a blast with my family. Handmade crafts. Stories and fun shoot outs in the street. Lots to do.

Google
We had a fun day at Goldfield Ghost Town and Mine. We toured the mine to see how gold was mined by hand. We saw a wild west shootout. We rode the train around town. And we walked through a mystery house. We really enjoyed it.

Google
A fun place to bring friends from out of state. Shops, train ride, gold panning, gift shop and more. Great for photo opportunities.

Yelp
We had such a great time at this amazing attraction that is a DO NOT MISS in my book! We took a tour of a make shift mine to see what it was like for the prospectors search for the infamous gold during the rush. Our tour guide Callan I think was her name was so informative and really helped to put us in the shoes of the miners. I even caught what I believed to be a ghost photo of an orb floating down in the mines. What do you think? Either way do not miss out on this attraction if you find yourself in this area
google avatar

Brian G.

Yelp
This is an interesting tourist attraction. They've got plenty of buildings to check out, gift shops, food, etc. They also have attractions such as museums and gold mine shaft tour. It's pretty fun, expect to be here for at least 2 hours.

Yelp
If there's even a chance a place is haunted, you can bet I'm there, ready to investigate (or at least spook myself for fun). This is a great spot to wander through old buildings and get a glimpse of life in the 1890s--minus the lack of indoor plumbing and questionable medical practices. Yes, it's a tourist trap, but it's the kind you don't mind falling into. There's plenty to do, from mine tours and railroad rides to zip-lining for those who like their history with a side of adrenaline. It's free to get in, but the attractions will cost you. My son and I took a ride on the railroad--$12 for me, $8 for him--and braved the zip line for $14 each. Worth every penny, even if my wallet is now the only thing feeling haunted. Bonus points for having a place to eat and, of course, a saloon--because nothing says "authentic Old West experience" like sipping a drink and pretending you're in a showdown (with the weekend crowds). Speaking of which, next time, I'm definitely coming on a weekday.

Yelp
Brought my family from out of town here and we all had a great time! I had never visited so I didn't know what to expect but was blown away by how unique this place is. It was pretty busy and we circled the lot a few times for a parking spot. Once we parked, we headed on in. We purchased tickets for the mine tour, train ride, and the sideways house and my cousins also opted in for the zip lining. The mine tour was informative and the guide kept us informed. The train ride was also informative and very scenic as the views of the Superstition Mountains are breathtaking. The sideways house was ehh not worth it in my opinion. The gun show was fun and pretty entertaining. We stopped by a few of the shops and all the workers we interacted with were nice. We got ourselves some ice cream and it was really good. There were plenty of places to sit at and a lot of people watching to be done. Overall we had fun and we spent almost all day there. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
I've lived in Arizona now for almost 9 years and this was the first time that I was able to get here to the Goldfield Ghost Town and considering that I'm from Southern California originally I wasn't super impressed from the other Ghost Towns that I've been to. Now the pro of coming here they don't charge you for admission or parking but I'm sure that's going to be next. The bathroom at the Mammoth restaurant was so filthy with dirty diapers on the floor I'm honestly glad that we didn't eat there. They make up the cost on souvenirs, food and the attractions. Now I honestly have to admit the employees in the stores were friendly and polite but honestly Pioneer Town or Calico is the same concept. So it wasn't a bad experience it just wasn't for me.

Duane H.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this spot! A true tourist attraction so it is exactly the way you want it to be! Lots of authentic items for sale!
google avatar

Dolores Z.

Yelp
Tourist attraction a bit off the beaten path, but scenic Superstition Mountains and historic sights make this a good outing. Free parking, no admission fee, but some attractions have charges. Numerous shops and stores with interesting merchandise, much of it locally sourced. A fun day trip back in time!
google avatar

Chuck D.

Yelp
Ok for kids. Food so so. Patio closed to pets which is old way of thinking. No longer go there.
google avatar

Henry M.

Yelp
This is a whimsical place to stop and check out some souvenir shops, there is also famous Saloon that has dollar bills plastered all over the place, with ice cream shop, post office, restaurant and great views
google avatar

Aubrie H.

Yelp
Fun family place to visit. They have an old town as well as a train ride and panning for gold. There are little shops to visit and a restaurant as well. It's free to park and enter but activities do have a fee. Fun little part of our day in the area.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
Worth an afternoon trip! The saloon was closed the day we went which was disappointing, but we took a $5 tour of the bordello. That was interesting (and it is family friendly, so it's ok to take the kids in) the mystery shack was a lot of fun. So was the train ride around the town. All things are with the small ticket fee, it really gives you the history of the town. About it. I've been twice and it was a good time both time
google avatar

Brenna P.

Yelp
I totally get the criticisms I've seen on here that everything costs money (the museum too?!), but they do not charge an entrance fee and the views are wonderful. I really enjoyed the art gallery and the apothecary. Absolutely lovely ladies running both. I really loved that the pottery makes all the pieces on the premises. I'd definitely go back.
google avatar

Shilo L.

Yelp
Took my niece & 13 YO & had a great day. Did the train ride, mine & mystery spot again. Added the zipline onto our adventure. Loved the gun show. It's a fun tourist trap
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
Neat experience. Tons of history. We took the train ride which is recommended. The shops are not that unique. Go for the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Surprisingly busy and jolly for a ghost town. Family friendly pitstop although most attractions required additional entry fees. The parking lot was free and most crowded at noon. The buildings were rustic but clean. The entire town took a few minutes to completely traverse with a notable prison and church in between. There were free gunfight shows every hour from 12-4PM. Otherwise there were tours, museums, and mining for additional costs. I wanted to visit the reptile museum but it was unfortunately closed for the day. The railroad and mine tours seemed to have the most traction while the other exhibits were ignored. The mine tour was short but I enjoyed hearing about the town's background and mine recreation. It was worth the $12 adult entry fee for 30 minutes of entertainment. Zip lining, horseback riding, and longer tours were also available although it wasn't as easily accessible from the main town. There was a saloon, coffee shop and ice cream shop for refreshments. Most the exhibits had entry fees of $12 or less with cheaper prices for children. Goldfield Ghost Town is best for families, especially with the gold panning, mystery shack and railroad. I don't regret stopping by but the experience seemed more entertaining for a younger crowd. I wished the website was more up to date and the stores were more consistent with their hours. The gift shop was a bit expensive and knick knacks weren't memorable. If this spot happens to be on the road, I'd stop by but I wouldn't drive out to experience the town.

Yelp
A fun day spent at Goldfield ghost town. Buy the 3 attraction tickets as it is worth it. You can get some great photos of the Superstition Mountains while riding the train. Everyone was very nice with a laid back attitude. Take a ride up highway 88 to tortilla flats and see some great scenery. Try the fudge as it is homemade and only $4. We loved the pumpkin fudge.

Yelp
Cool place to spend half a day or so. Zip line is cool, very safe. Took the train ride. It was ok, nothing special. The guide's microphone was going in and out so couldn't really get much info. Mine tour was full of interesting facts and info. Really enjoyed it. But the best experience was Mystery Shack! If you are there definitely visit it. Our guide was Ann super cool lady! Had coffee and quick bites from coffee shop very friendly stuff and good prices. If you have time pan some gold. Really good way of showing kids the definition of patience. Plus the location next to the breath taking mountains!

Aimee T.

Yelp
Meh... it was just ok. Lots of junk shops and little museums and stuff. Probably good for kids and older people.
google avatar

NY Y.

Yelp
Nice place to visit for families. The gun shows, gold mine tour, food, and other attractions give a good flavor of the old west.
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
Fun afternoon for everyone. Lots of shops with good prices and a range of souvenirs. Bruce, the train conductor/guide, was great. Wonderful tour with lots of information. Wasn't easy to figure out where to buy the combo ticket when we arrived, so we just paid for individual tours (BTW: you get it at the Mine Tour booth).
google avatar

Maxine P.

Yelp
Enjoyed time with family at the old mining and ghost town. It's free to walk around the town and feel the vibe of a different time. While there you will see amazing views of Superstition Mountain and desert from different vantage points. There is a charge for the mine tour, zip line and train ride. We dropped by the local saloon for a drink and snack. Shared chips and adult beverages, had a great time listening to music. We were really comfortable with the atmosphere, the old west feel, boots hanging in the entry way for lost lives. Maybe the owners of of these boots are walking the town. The town has some cute little shops and other historic or reconstructed building. Worth driving out and spending part of a day there. While out in the area you can check out the desert park with hiking trails that will take you close to superstition Mountain

Yelp
Great experience!! Go back in time! Saloon, brothel, jail and every hour-some kind of shootout! 99% volunteers work for tips but will make time to share and explain the ole west! Easy parking, kid and pet friendly. Those with mobility issues may want to think twice. Food and beverages are appropriately priced. Portions too. Super scenic. Cute stores and chapel holds services on Sundays.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
Always passed this on my way and from a run at work.. and finally was able to check this place out.. it's kind of like an old Tucson if you have been there.. they have shops and what not along with a "show every hour starting at 12" they also have a train ride you can take which tells you the little history about this place..

Marsha S.

Yelp
Fun to visit..And an area for kids to sift through for gold! Different shops and a bar to sit for a bit and relax. A neat old arizona western town.
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
We drove by the ghost town on the way to Dolly, we all discussed what we will visit on the way back. YES! What a cool way to immersive experience to the old wild west set in the 1890s. It was fun to visit, a lot of shops, free to walk around, there is a train ride, shows, and music on the dirt road. We are supposed for a Thursday, it was packed with people. Kids will love it here. They have something for everyone. Yes, it is a tour trap but it was still fun!
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! Tons of things to do and an excellent view of the mountain. Recommended for all!
google avatar

Tarry B.

Yelp
Cute little town where we ended up getting here at a perfect time for the "shoot out" bit. Cute shops- prices seemed to be pretty decent. Saw the train as we were leaving.
google avatar

Fiorella M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place!! It's worth the drive and worth every penny. It's really affordable too. The Mystery shack is my favorite! It's something out of the norm. I recommend it. They have cool gifts shops on spot too. I love having breakfast there- I recommend the breakfast sandwiches and their lattes. They also have a photoshoot spot- you can pick outfits and pose with your fam.
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
Cool place to go or to take guests who aren't from the southwest! The restaurant is great for lunch and the train ride around the town was interesting.
google avatar

Colby K.

Yelp
On our way to the Renaissance festival we saw ads for the ghost town. The kids instantly said they wanted to go. We decided to come out on a Saturday and this was such an amazing time. From the reptile museum, to the gold mine underground to the soaring eagle zip line we had such a great time. The reenactment of an old saloon style fight in the square was just perfect. The kids were adamant about coming back for the haunted tour but I feel they need to be older before we start that journey. Highly recommend everyone of all ages to come out and experience this location.
google avatar

Greeshma R.

Yelp
We have visited like 3 times now and every time we have had a good experience here. It's a bit crowded and everything has a good 20-30min of wait time. This place is perfect for photographs, with a beautiful backdrop of the superstitious mountains it's definitely worthy of the shot. The saloon is quite popular and was there since 1800's which is pretty impressive. The mine tours, zip line, train ride, mystery shack, the gun fight show, there's so much to see and do. You can definitely spend all day here and great for kids. The gun fight performance is a nice touch and the last show is at 4:00pm Overall a day well spent with lots of things to do.
google avatar

Summer C.

Yelp
This place is so fun. We came on a Saturday a few weekends ago and had a lot of fun. It was perfect weather and it was crowded, but not too crowded. Our favorite part was seeing the pretend gun fight. It is by volunteers that do a free show (donations/tips accepted after the show) every hour on the hour. Well not every hour but I believe starting from 10am to 4pm (at least when we were there). We did the train ride which was more of a historical train ride. Honestly, it was hard to understand everything the tour guide was saying - he mumbled a lot. We still enjoyed it. We also did the mine tour which was really cool and our tour guide was awesome (I'm forgetting her name, but she was great). Then we did the mystery shack which was fun and made us a little dizzy haha. We ate ice cream which was yummy, but overpriced. We walked around some of the shops too. For lunch we ate at the saloon. It was a fun atmosphere, but the food was not that good and the customer service was eh. They messed up our order and still charged us for an extra order of something we never ordered. Besides that we enjoyed our time at the ghost town.
google avatar

Angel R.

Yelp
this was a spontaneous trip and it was worth my while! everyone is so nice and welcoming, you can take pictures with the dressed up cowboys, you have an amazing view in the background, all while learning the history! they have tours, zip lining, and horseback riding. My favorite was ordering a pickle berry frozen lemonade at the coffee shop and strolling around. it takes about an hour to experience the whole thing and it was the perfect pit stop of the day

Yelp
Seeking something to do out of the house and soak up the sunshine, my grandparents suggested an afternoon in Goldfield Ghost Town. Located on the outskirts of Mesa, this hidden gem at the base of Superstition Mountain is truly one of a kind. A former thriving mining town, the town offers just about everything. A saloon + restaurant, shops, tours of the various mines and more! There are a handful of attractions too - like a train ride, ziplining, Apache trail tours, ghost tours and gold panning - so there is literally something for every type of tourist! The town is rich in history, is picturesque and has the perfect view of Superstition Mountain, which makes for one hell of a view! wow! Best part - it's free to enter! We opted to explore the grounds, tour the mining museum, pretend we were in the wild west, partake in a little shopping and ultimately decided on an ice-cold beverage at the saloon to round out the afternoon - which was the perfect way to capture the moment. The only drawback I will say the grounds aren't paved (primarily gravel) and there is a lot of uneven ground (and directly uphill = pretty steep!), so if you're not quick on your feet, it can be a little dangerous and/or require a little assistance. With that in mind, it's definitely not ideal for those with walkers or in wheelchairs - just FYI. Overall, what a fun little spot just outside Meza, AZ!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
It was great to step back in time, and the place was very busy. People are eager to get out, get some sunshine and learn about the history. Fun stores and restaurants and great entertainment at the stage. Coach by Bobby. I WOULD RECOMMEND
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
Just an overall great place to go for a change of scenery, the bartenders were very friendly and stayed on top of our drinks and food, even though they were very busy.
google avatar

Dani S.

Yelp
Such a fun adventure! Most shops were open on a random weekday, we had fun and bought some of the yummiest pickles and fudge ever (super random I know lol)
google avatar

Nikki A. J.

Yelp
It's a fun place to check out if you're in the area. They have a bunch of cute activities and a show every hour! Definitely check out the apothecary for some organic homemade personal care items!
google avatar

Tawnya S.

Yelp
I was torn about my review. The cranky husband doesn't like "tourist traps" and this is indeed one of but that said it is a really well put together one! I would say it is a nice half day family adventure. For about $30 a person you can see three of the major attractions which take about 15-20 minutes each. There are also fun shoot outs done by costumed locals? There are not nearly enough bathrooms tho. They could handle bringing in a few porta potty's to handle the overflowing as bathroom waits were long! It is a great family outing. I would have given it 4 stars. Cranky husband gave it 2.

Kevin B.

Yelp
This is a complete tourist trap. The mine tour is nothing more than an underground tunnel that goes about 100 yards. Very disappointed.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
Very cool spot! Small area but easy to fill a day there with the family with the tours, food, and a few shops. Beautiful views of the surrounding area too and a lot of history there. After hours there is a ghost tour that is pretty great there too. Some of it depends on your fellow guests, and mine weren't the best, but the staff sells the ghost tour well and did a great job with it. The saloon was great with good food and friendly bartenders.

40 W.

Yelp
This place was cool because it was like stepping back in time to an old west town that is operating. But this place is not cool because no shop keepers dress the part and almost everything they sell is very generic and has little to nothing to do with the town. Why are they selling products from Hawaii in an Arizona ghost town?
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
Went there at a slow time so there were no gunfights or anything going on but heard those were interesting. A lot of little shops that were mostly different from each other so they were interesting to look through. Took the train ride which goes around the whole town and has a commentary which is interesting. I will say that everyone that was working the shops were very very nice. That was appreciated. Prices for everything were also reasonable as well. Didn't go in the mine tour or the zip line but heard from others that the mine tour was interesting.
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
What a great way to spend a few hours during Spring Break 2024. Plenty to explore and learn about this Ghost Town. The trains engineer will tell all about the history of this mining town during a 15 - 20 ride around the town. There's even a great zip lining experience. I definitely recommend spending some time here.
google avatar

Anne C.

Yelp
Went here on a weekday, relatively busy but not overcrowded. My kids enjoyed the little train ride around the property. Lot's of cute little shops to browse through. Kind employees and actors everywhere. Also very educational. Beautiful scenery too. I also noticed a zipline on property.

Yelp
Where history meets fun. Goldfield Ghost Town has been restored to give visitors a taste of the old west. No fee to park or enter. Each experience is pay as you go. These experiences include a train tour, horse tour, shooting gallery, panning for gold and gem stones, and old time photos. Historic buildings now house various small businesses. Two restaurants and a coffee shop. In the old saloon is a steakhouse. Towards the front of the town is Miners Grill. Miners Grill is a quick service restaurant. We chose to eat there. Menu consists of sandwiches, burgers and hotdogs. The chicken sandwich, burgers and fries weren't just tourist attraction good, they were good. The chicken was tender and juicy. Sourdough was toasted to golden brown, and was not greasy. My kids enjoyed their burgers and grilled cheese. Fries were hot and freshly fried. Soft inside and lightly crisp on the outside. The only exception was the person who ordered the chicken strip said they were just okay. Many of those small businesses are souvenir shops. While there is some overlap, each store does a good job of having some unique items. Some more than others. We purchased a cactus from one store. They have a wide variety of small succulents. Succulents could be purchased a la carte, or as pre-made succulent gardens. There was even a creature your own option. The cactus we purchased sprouted flowers, and was blooming within a week of being planted. The Blue Nugget is another much visit shop. The Blue Nugget specializes in fossils and Native American jewelry. Their prices are some of the best in the town. A couple of the shops are more small art galleries. Art featured is created by local artists. Most art is available for purchase. Goldfield Ghost Town has points of interest for adults as much as they do for children. The proximity to Phoenix makes Goldfield an enjoyable day trip for locals and tourists alike.
google avatar

Sy L.

Yelp
Drove out here from Phoenix. 107 degrees. So hot! It was cool to see the ghost town. But the museum and the train ride were okay but nothing exciting. We opted not to partake in the gold mining tour.
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
Super cute destination for visitors. We saw a shooting match and bank robbery, I bought prickly pear margarita mix, a sticker, some candy and a cute little souvenir. All were friendly, my dog was welcome, the views are sensational! What a fun stop for kids!
google avatar

Carlos B.

Yelp
I'm a ginormous fan of ghost towns! That said, this wasn't a ghost town, per se. I dragged my friend, Audrey, along for a spontaneous adventure outta Chandler. I am a geocacher at heart, so I knew that the Adventure Lab cache would be a great way to familiarize ourselves with the town. We walked around town during their slow season so a few shops were closed and the gunfights wouldn't resume for months. We had a great time regardless. We hopped on the train around the town, and thoroughly enjoyed the commentary. The shop owners were cordial and accommodating. Overall, I would say bring the kids and pack a lunch. Enjoy Goldfield Ghost Town today.
