On the Grid : Gontran Cherrier

"France is the daily bread. Here, it smells good, there is nothing to put in their mouths, passing or take away. Two bars adjacent windows, one would ask quietly. Fulfill your Sunday morning pastries, breads and many thousands of flavors to accompany your days." - Julien Ly

Amazing bakery, probably one of my favourites in Paris. Amazing croissants, kind service.

Fantastic for traditional French breakfast of coffee and pastry. Place was spotless and the service was super friendly.

Cozy corner café with excellent choices for pastries. My favorite is the pistachio white chocolate cookie, the croissant cookie (crookie), the new york roll with pistachio filling and the flan. They have fresh orange juice and coffees that are a perfect choice as combination with your pastry. Their quiche is also vegetarian but did not like it as much as the other choices. Bare in mind that seating is available but when it gets crowded, you might find yourself missing out on grabbing a seat. I’d highly recommend stopping by before your Montmartre exploration.

If you’re in the Montmartre area, this is a must go spot. We had a croissant and a tuna baguette. The croissant was heavenly. To distinguish a great croissant from a typical croissant, look at it from the side and observe the layers. The Gontran Cherrier’s croissants layers are absolutely beautiful. This is food art. The outside was crispy, the inside was fluffy. Truly a pleasure to enjoy. The tuna baguette was also very good. High quality tuna paired with goat cheese, ripe cherry tomatoes, and red onions. We were there for a quick snack so did not try the tarts but they looked fabulous as well. Don’t miss this before, during, or after your trip to Montmartre. Bon appetit!

The scones has no flavor. The Americano coffee cost $2.35 and this is what I got. (See picture)

The best croissant I had in Paris. All of their pastries we tried were incredible. And they were very patient with us and our broken French.

A little pricey but delicious. Had a black bread sandwich that could have a bit more ham and a andocolate/almonds croissant which was perfect.
