We'd actually attempted to grab a bite at Good Fork a week earlier, but the place was full and the wait was 45 minutes. Yikes.
So we returned the following week and showed up about 15 minutes after they opened. We snagged a nice window table and began perusing the extensive brunch menu.
We decided to share a couple of items:
Crispy Chicken Sandwich ("toasted bun, breaded n' fried chicken thigh, lemony schmaltz mayo, lettuce, dilly labneh, pickles, choice of side"). This is a decent if unspectacular 'wich. The chicken was cooked very well, admittedly, but the other components were so sparingly applied that I could barely taste them, to the degree that it really tasted like a fried chicken sandwich with zero toppings on it. I could've used more crunch on the chicken itself, too.
Blueberry Halva Pancakes ("buttermilk pancake stack, orange blossom ricotta, lemony blueberry, halva crumble, pure hockley valley maple syrup"). This was definitely the clear winner. It's an enormous portion of pancakes, and everything works so well together, and the included halva crumble really gives the whole thing a distinct, different flavor. It's incredibly sweet, however, and it ultimately feels more like a dessert than a main.
I enjoyed my meal at Good Fork, although there are some things here and there that could easily be tweaked.
