"Formerly Hamilton's Church of St. George, the high-ceilinged space at Good George Brewery and Dining Hall now attracts happy drinkersreading from the gospels of fine craft beer and excellent wood-fired pizza. On weekend afternoons local musicians with a singer/songwriter vibe perform in Good George's garden bar—delivering tunes you'll probably know all the words to. The brewery's ciders and fruit beers are regarded as among New Zealand 's best. For a similar feel, and the opportunity to drink other beers from around the country, head to Little George on Hood Street, the centerof rowdy nightlife in the city. A five-strong tasting flight is the best option for curious drinkers keen to experience New Zealand's fantastic craft-beer scene."

A decent spot with a wide variety of beer options—though the food selection is limited. Nevertheless, it’s a great place to hang out with friends.

Great pub experience. All the classics done really well. Staff are friendly and nothing seems like too much trouble. They love their product and dont mind giving advice about it even trying different beers and ciders. We went on Wednesday night which was "Burger Special" a burger, fries, and anything that is on tap for $29. We had one of each burgers, fish, chicken and beef. They were all of a great size and you could not fault them. Beef was especially juicy and not dry or over cooked. The same could not be said of the pork belly bites, although it had a great sweet sauce the bites were dry and stringy. The cheesy baguettes were amazing and a great starter. The food was good but the staff were better. The made it very homely and especially Leslie, he made it a night to remember. His customer service is second to none, both professional and welcoming with great knowledge but not pushy. Great place with background music, plenty of televisions to watch. Also having a bottle store so you can purchase your drink of choice is a massive plus. Great place with groups large or small. We will be back.

The team were amazing to deal with and made our recent private function so stress free. Nothing was an issue, the food was super tasty and Paul and the team were such a pleasure to work alongside. Would 100% recommend the Good George Dining Hall for your next function!

Popped in for a quick stop lunch, apparently Wednesday is 2 for 1 pizza so we had chicken and cranberry and a margherita. Quick friendly service, nice music playing, sat out in the garden bar which is covered over winter and nice and warm. Tried a non-alcoholic Black Doris Plum Cider and my husband tried the Good George Lager, the advised match for his pizza. Lots of parking around the side and side entry. New menu launched today apparently

Such a fun afternoon spent trying out the different makings of Good George then ending it with a Pizza & more Beers. We were a group of 4 that did the beer tour! This was a lot of fun. Our guide Lesley showed us around the brewery & got us to try a few ciders & beers. We also tried some of the spirits! A fun experience overall & good spot for beers and food. Will be visiting again!

Terrible experience here on Sunday night. A group of us came in for a booking at 8pm. The bartender/server was incredibly rude and told me he couldn’t be bothered making me a cocktail after serving other people in my group. The drinks my friends were lucky enjoy to receive were half filled and made wrong. The kitchen was reduced down to their snack menu which was fine. We all ordered the $10 pizzas which was cheap but about as much as they were worth. Some of us got nice homemade pizza bases while some people in the group clearly had unimpressive supermarket bases. Wouldn’t come here again.

Found this place by accident when we were stopping between our Auckland - Rotorua transit. Amazingly good eggs benedict and a fresh buddha bowl with interesting tastes.

Awesome staff, really nice atmosphere and typically delivers on the food front. Love the selection of ciders available, especially the strawberry one! I went tonight on a date with my boyfriend and had a great time, also a great laugh! I ordered chicken dumplings, accidentally got given prawn ones. They actually tasted quite good, but i was really after a delicious chicken dumpling so i sent them back and mistakes happen i wasn’t mad. very quickly after this they returned with some chicken dumplings - however….. they were those $6 ones you get frozen from countdown. not mad at all, it was a quiet night so someone must have gone to countdown to not disappoint me further and it was worth the $22 laugh. really appreciate the effort put in and bless the poor girl when i asked why they looked different. always reliable on the food, even when they run out hahahahahahhahahaha
