Good Measure Pub & Brewery

For starters, I am all about supporting local. I hate leaving a bad review, so I am going to start with the positive. Our Waiter was awesome. He was genuine, caring, and very responsive. My family has also eaten here a few times a month for the past year, so hopefully next time I can replace this review with a positive one. Onto the reason for two stars. Tonight wasn’t awesome! We ordered like normal, but after an hour of waiting hadn’t received our food. I politely asked a waitress to see if she could follow up on our order, and instead of “sure”, she replied with “well if you look around you can see we are busy”. Snarky, with a pissed off look on her face as to who would ever dare ask for their food after only an hour wait. I mentioned to her that the table next to us was seated after us, and had just paid their bill and was walking out. She agreed to check, but the adults at our table were a little shocked at how it was handled. Onto the food; 6 of us, and it was a $200 total. Not horrible for a great meal with drinks, but instead only two drinks were ordered, and 3 of us left hungry! My 11 year old son who eats almost anything couldn’t chew his $26 steak that was cardboard thin and cooked an extra 20 minutes to ensure it couldn’t be mistaken for anything less than “extremely well done”. The tacos were smaller than normal, and the fries were not the normal helping. We are going to try again in a few weeks to see if it was just a bad day. Another experience like this and it will be out last!

Highly recommend. This is a large brewery with indoor and outdoor seating, nice bar seating, and an overall fun environment. There's a very large menu and we enjoyed the wings immensely. Large prayer list and everything we tried was delicious.

The beer is decent, early riser being the star it’s a good beer. The owner/staff are lovely people who care for their patrons, that being said the food is overpriced and pushed beyond what it should be. You’re the pinnacle of the Northfield good and beverage scene, treat your community right with fair priced pub fare and not pretending to be some type of upscale hubbub offering $18 dollar half sandwiches.

Unless you are from the Vermont region, you might not understand how intense the beer scene is here. Very similar to Asheville, NC, Vermont has carved out a beer scene with world winning beers. It takes a certain amount of confidence and faith in your ability to think you can carve out a piece in such a competitive market. A small population combined with a risky tourist season can make a local small business struggle to survive. Trust me I know as a small business owner!! Good measure not only have carved out a peace but has taken most of the pie. Incredible brew and amazing food. Excellent staff!! If you are in the area, you should check it out.

While visiting family in Northfield we discovered Good Measure Pub & Brewery. This place is a gem for sure. The food, service and drinks were all outstanding. So nice to have a place like this available while traveling. Would highly recommend to anyone and really hope this place will be around in the future when we come back for family visits.

Worth the stop. Found parking next to the building. Outdoor seating available. Food was good and the beers (they have flights) were solid. Good alternative to IPAs. Try the nashville hot if you like chicken sandwiches.

Great beer and excellent food at a lively taproom and pub. The beers were very tasty and of varying styles including a "Vermont IPA" which was clean, refreshing and delicious. I hope it becomes a trend! We had a poke bowl and steak salad, both of which were excellent. We hope to stop back soon! [Update] We stopped back here after a couple of years and it's even better. There is a nice outdoor space where you can have a beer and some nice food with your dog(s). We loved the dark lager and American farmhouse beers. The beet salad and sweet potato fries were perfect.

Had the close shave sandwich. It was amazing so were the margaritas. They are a little pricey but it is well worth every dollar! Service is top notch as well as the food. Highly recommend!!!

excellent food! just worth every single bite and every single calorie. so delicious. great service. We also got fried mushrooms and wings as appetizer and we ate them so fast that I forgot to take a photo. highly recommend!

Tasty lighter abv beers. Unique individual styles and flavorful. Service was attentive.

We had a party of 8 come in and we were totally fine waiting if we needed to, since we know restaurants prefer that larger parties have reservations. Unfortunately this was a very last minute decision. The hostess was very accommodating and put together 2 tables for us, which was great! Our server though was just rude. I've never had to leave a review regarding rude service before. Food overall was great though!! If I go visit VT again I would consider going, I just hope not to have that server in particular.

Nice little place, was busy on a Saturday after so seating sometimes might be tight but overall great selection of beers and food. Service was good. Will be back

Was visiting the area for work and was recommended this place by a local. What a great recommendation! The place was clean, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and there was ample outdoor and indoor seating. The menu has a number of options you wouldn't see anywhere else. My boss and I actually came to eat here twice because of the quality of food and the comfortable ambiance. If you're in the area, make this a stop for food or a drink!

Awesome atmosphere. Very Vermont!! Beers for everyone. Food was delicious. The pretzel was huge and delicious. My wife had a bowl and it was very tasty. Service was perfect.

Overall a positive experience with tasty food and excellent service. Cute place with indoor and outdoor seating. It was half priced wing night, so there was a large college crowd. Scene was upbeat and staff was hustling. Smashburgers were great and I was able to substitute the Mac&cheese as a side for $2. One of the beers that was ordered fell a little flat and the warm cookie ended up being a bit mushy. They do offer cans to-go for purchase and have trivia and other themed nights.

Good Measure seemed a bit advanced for such a small VT town. Great selection of beer and cocktails along with a terrific menu. With started with cocktails and then lunch on Saturday around noon. Lunch consisted of a hotdog with extra crispy fries, poutine and gluten free chicken nuggets. It was so good we had lunch again on Sunday, this time we had a smash burger, hotdog on a gluten free bun, and grilled cheese. We would have gone back on Monday but they were closed due to New Year's holiday.

Great little bar and restaurant clearly a staple of the community, food is fantastic beer selection is great, and the vibe of the restaurant is awesome. One thing to keep in mind, the bar is a popular spot for college kids on Friday nights and the place can get pretty crowded with Norwich students. Not a bad thing but it's not quiet on weekends.

Came here for the eclipse, stayed for the beer. People at the bar were responsive and kind, even with how busy it was. Place looked very nice with classic modern tavern vibes. Place has a big beer list with some bangers. I don't like IPAs, but I like the Totality IPA. Dry Irish stout was also great. Honestly want to come back just to try out all the beers. Food is also nice, I had some poutine to go with the beer.

Such a good atmosphere! Great service, great music and great food! Excited to go back and try their Tuesday night trivia!

Awesome food and beer! We were greeted by the owners Scott and Andrew and they made us feel like family! Dreamcatcher was delicious - probably the best brew I've tasted. The Jaws pinball machine just added the finishing touch to our visit. There are outdoor tables and we saw some pooches enjoying their time there along with their owners. Waitstaff brought water out for them- it was adorable. Fantastic place.

I visited Good Measure on Wednesday, April 10, a couple days after the eclipse. I arrived at 6pm and it was moderately busy. The waitress, who was also the hostess, took over 10 minutes to acknowledge me and add my party of 6 to the waiting list. I chatted with the group ahead of me and they had a similar experience upon arrival. The staff never provided an estimated wait time and just told me that I'm "on the list." On two different occasions, the waitress incorrectly called the party that she had previously sat. The waitress also sat a similar sized party that arrived after me. After an hour wait, we finally got a table. The waitress immediately took our order, which was three burgers, fries, and a side of mac and cheese. After taking our orders, she came to our table multiple times to refill drinks and give us silverware. She brought three sets of utensils because that was "all the clean ones available in the kitchen." After nearly an hour of waiting patiently with three hungry kids, the waitress came back to our table and told us that our order never made it into their system. She requested that we repeat it so she can re-enter it. We were done at that point! Since we had already wasted two hours without getting any food, I asked the bartender for the manager on duty. The bartender stated that she wasn't a manager but she was "in charge." I explained the whole situation and asked what could be done to resolve these issues. She stated that she wasn't in a position to provide any remediation but would give me the contact information of the people that could help. The next day, I emailed Liz Frazer and Scott Kerner, to share my experience. I assume they are the owners and/or restaurant managers. Neither one of them has responded to my email. Very poor service and I didn't even get to try the food. Shame on management for not responding or taking responsibility to make things right.

I was hoping for a great meal but after an hour after ordering and still no food, paid for my dark and stormy (which was fantastic) and walked out. Waitress was higher than a kite and although I asked multiple times about the food I ordered, she kept asking if I wanted to order food. Shouldn't have know something was up.

Do NOT go if you have food sensitivities or allergies.!! Vegan burger option on menu so, thought business had food allergy awareness. Inquired about several options but, employees did not know any of food ingredients on menu. Left without eating. Reached out to business twice just to advise them of experience and they couldn't even take time to respond... would give zero stars if I could!

I lived the first 18 years of my life in Alabama, and these are some damn good wings. They are the best I've had in New England by FAR. Scott the owner has amazing energy along with the rest of the staff. Great atmosphere and great food. Hot Honey Dijon wings

Food - I had a double burger . I knew i should not have ordered it when i saw it was a smashed burger, but even a smash burger can be good if there is enough fat in it to keep it moist and the bun is good. That is not the case here. Burger was very very well done and dry with nearly no flavor. Topped with sauces and other items on simple cheap spongy roll. With all the great bakeries around there is not reason for that. Fries are string fries.. fresh and hot so not too bad but not a fan, since the cool off so fast without a little density. Cold before i took 3 bites. May be others would like this place but I'd rate 5 guys higher and that's fast food not a real burger It was a let down. 28$ for burger fries and a beer. I'll pay that with out a thought for good food but this is not even a fast food burger. Service was good. Beer was good. I saw some nacho's that looked good so may be just stay away from the burgers if you don't like over cooked hockey pucks on cheap bread and go for something else.

Horrible customer service. We had a party of 6 with 4 elderly and they told us a 20 minute wait because we needed 2 tables. Watched the waitress put 2 tables together then separate them to seat another couple that came in after us. She then lied to my wife about it. 45 minutes later she then tells us it will be another 20 min hopefully. We left and will never go back. Must be they cater to the youger crowd.

I was very excited to be going to Good Measure Brewing as their menu looked awesome. The problem was the menu they have posted online is not close to the menu they actually offer. It was completely different and very limited. Though disappointed with the menu switcheroo, I did enjoy the food that I ordered. Finally, they violated a pet peeve of mine. All the food was served on paper plates, the beer in plastic cups and the flatware was a plastic kit type with the napkin included. All the disposable crap drives me crazy. Use real dishes and glasses please.

The drinks decor and service are all very good but unfortunately the food is not ..... haven't found anything on the menu that is at all appealing.... Sorry for the negative feedback but I'm hoping it will be taken as constructive criticism

Love this place! All around fun atmosphere. The food was ok but the dishes were CLEAN! Those dishwashers are great and should be on the wall of fame.

Taylor was awesome!!!!!! She is a great bartender and answers all the questions you could possibly have!!!! Food was great and came fast. Love this place.

Good Measure Brewing is a small brewery with some seriously excellent beer. They don't do flights, which was a major bummer because I wanted to try everything (without having to stop to pee every five minutes on our road trip) - but this would have been a five star stop for me if they did. Street parking, clean bathrooms, and seating was a little tight seeing as how it's a small space. I'd definitely make it a point to stop here again so I could try more.

A+ across the board great vibes, beer, drinks, food, service was Amazing! They were so accommodating to our group, above and beyond and then even further. Special shout out to Scott wish you all the luck and thanks for truly filling the void of what Northfield needed and to my girl Liz who as always crushes it with a smile. We had such a wonderful time look forward to our next get together. P.S. next time we will warn you before the wreaking crew shows up thanks!

The boys at good measure are about to bottle an amazing beer called "Yankee Ingenuity" that is aged in bourbon barrels and is rich and fruity enough to be a dessert...my first thought was a rum-soaked fig pudding in a glass. Amazing.

A charmingly small but expanding brewery! The owner served us samples of their diverse selection - farmhouse ales, English bitters, pale ales, saisons. They are purposely different from the typical IPA-brewing Vermont craft beer scene.

Great beer, great atmosphere and great management. If you're looking for small town breweries, Good Measure should be a top pick!

We made a few brewery stops as we recently wound our way through Vermont. This was our favorite. Great beer and an equally enjoyable atmosphere. We are already looking forward to returning.
