Popped into Goodwood Bakery in Marrickville on a whim for sourdough and ended up leaving with much more. The sour cherry, almond and fennel loaf caught my eye, so I grabbed that too—and I’m very glad I did.
Despite the line and my complete overwhelm at all the choices, the service was absolutely on point. The team took the time to explain the different loaves and pastries without making me feel rushed, which made the whole experience even better.
I took the bread home and gently warmed the cherry loaf, added my favourite butter and… OMG. To die for. Crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and incredibly flavoursome without being overwhelming. I’ve officially found my new favourite loaf.
The sourdough made an appearance at dinner and was also absolute perfection.
Safe to say I’ve found my newest go-to bakery for bread. Highly recommend!
