Absolutely incredible experience at Goorin Bros North Beach. I wanted to get a special hat before visiting Napa for Memorial Day weekend and this location did not disappoint. Lamont was the artist who helped me design and materialize my dream hat. His level of professionalism is remarkable; he was actually having lunch when I arrived to the store and he immediately noticed me and offered his help with the hat selection and design. He is a star and a wonderful artist. I will go back and will get another hat from them as soon as I visit SFO again! I’m in love with my hat, needless to mention that I received so many compliments while wearing it.

Customer service lives on at Goorin Bros with the wonderful Robin who went above and beyond to help me find the perfect hat for my husband. There are lots of fun hat options at this store and you will leave looking more stylish than you went in.

My and my better half came to San Fran for a wonderful vacation. While we were there, we did lots of exploring of the bay area including checking out all of the tourist stores. I have been wanting a nice fedora for a very long time but sadly all the attraction store just had some cheaply made ones that we knew would just fall apart. My significant other had the wounderful idea to search around for a true hat store. We came across GOORIN BROS CUSTOME HAT SHOP. Among entering the store, we were pleasantly suprised with the calm and kind atmosphere that the store and the people gave off whom were working there. I found myself the perfect fedora and the items I wanted to personalize it to my taste. Robin jumped right in to help when she saw I was torn between specific items to customize my hat. She helped educate me on the different ways to make the hat more of an every day wear or for a special occasion statement peice. Once we figured out what best suited me for my every day wear, we began the process of getting it put together. She knew we were from out of state and only had a very short time left in San Fran, so in their kindness and efforts to make me a very happy customer, they sped up the process to completing my hat in the alotted time frame that we had before we left back home. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with the quality of work and dedication they put into my fedora let alone each and every one of their custom hats they make. If I could give 10 stars I would! Me and my boyfriend visited San Francisco and while there, made a journey to Goorin Hats and boy howdy are we so glad we did! Not only are their hats amazing quality, but their customer service was next level! We will absolutely visit again for another beautiful hat next time we are in SF!

Really huge variety of hats. They also stitch customized hats per demand. That person who runs this store is very passionate about hats and possess deep knowledge on what he's doing. I'll visit this store again with lil more time when I come back to the city.

Goorin Bros original shop is in the cutest North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. The store has a picturesque hat wall steaming with swag and Bay Area style. The employees are so kind and knowledgeable, I definitely wanted to stay and hang out with them. I bought a Billy The Kid hat. It’s a large brim, stiff felt hat. I get a ton of compliments when I wear it. This is like my 5th hat from them. I highly recommend checking them out. That said the parking is very hard at this location with all of the new parklets so allow extra time for that. Also, be sure to ask for tips on hat care, and don’t leave without a feather in your cap!

Robyn hooked me up with another amazing Goorin hat. And best of all, it’s named after them! Check out the Del Rosario! As always, top shelf service with a smile. Goorin always feels like family. Thanks again!

I bought my first fedora hat here with the help of the gentleman named Lamont. He was very helpful and patient w me. The store offered free cleaning bottle, and cleaning or reshape my hat if needed. Definitely will come back here to shop again.

Dropped in there first thing this morning to get a couple of my hats refreshed. "Big Mike" took care of me. Very knowledgeable, very professional, and truly a pro. I've been buying my hats from here for years. Every single experience there has been fantastic. Thanks again "Mike." I'm vacation ready now.

Stopped in looking for a very specific hat. Robin helped us. Very knowledgeable, obviously enjoys the business. Found what I wanted, but as we were leaving the city in 36 hrs, she didn't know if they could get it ready as they were quite busy & it was late in the day. Nonetheless, she promised they would make it work. Sure enough, about 3:30 the next afternoon, I got the call. Hat was ready. Can't recommend them enough. If you need a new lid, be sure to stop in.

If you go, ask for big Mike; friendly, helpful, and informative. Made my visit super pleasant. He needs to train people on how to do customer service, cuz he's on it

I bought this Goorin Brothers hat which said it had a stiff brim but did not state a stiffened body (wow was it stiffened!) But they agreed to take it back even though it was "non-returnable" So HATS OFF TO GOORIN BROTHERS (hohoho) for being a great customer centered USA biz this was the Gemma hat probably just the thing for someone under 40 I'm way over 40 !!! Thought these photos were a laugh ....

Visiting San Francisco for a graduation and wondered into Grooinbros in North Beach, and then wondered out with a new fedora in Wiskey brown. Outstanding help by Lamont. He was patient and gave me wide breadth to wear and think. If you are ever in North Beach and thinking a hat might work, stop in and walk out with a new lid.

Disappointing Experience at Goorin's Hat Store as a Repeat Customer I recently made my way from Union Square through Chinatown to North Beach specifically to visit Goorin's Hat Store. Walking along Grant Avenue and Stockton Street, I couldn't help but notice the numerous signs of city disarray, from stickers and illegal postings to sidewalks not in compliance with city regulations. As I approached Goorin's, I found their large A-frame sign smack in the middle of the sidewalk, obstructing pedestrian flow. Understanding that these signs are meant to advertise, I moved it against the wall where it would still be visible to passersby without being a hazard. When I mentioned this to the merchant, he became quite unhappy. He asked me to step outside and bluntly told me he didn't care about the city code, nor did it matter whether I worked for the city or not; he was going to place his sign wherever he pleased. This encounter was very disappointing. It reflects a broader issue of disregard for regulations and common courtesy, contributing to the city's ongoing problems. I had intended to buy a hat, but after this unpleasant interaction, I chose to walk away. Until the management at Goorin's Hat Store decides to respect both city codes and their potential customers, I cannot recommend this store.

This is the 3rd chapeau I've purchased from GB. They are single handedly bringing these time honored styles back. Perfect for that unique SF flavor that sets the Bay Area apart. Essential for those cold Summer days when a lid warms you up while making you look cool. Not a hat person? I think the skilled staff can find a hat that accentuates YOU in a way that will make you smile and proud enough (with encouragement from other shoppers and whomever you may be with) to drop a cool Hundi or more for a stylish chapeau that you will be happy with for a very long time. My only issue, is in spite of today's parking CAR-MA, trying to get near this place is crazy! Best to scooter, walk or Lyft here. The neighborhood is always popping. Should you purchase a lid from here, and walk out into the NB scene, you will be popping too!

High quality hats in my size (I have a big head so usually finding my size is an issue)

Bought great hat and berets. They have lots of beautiful options and the lovely staff Robin was very helpful and so friendly. I like how they have plenty of french beret options because it's hard to find them in SF. If you're looking for a hat this is the best place in town.

Try to buy it from the Store. The staff is great and can really help you develop your hat style. Not to mention the website is horrible second only to their social/text marketing. (It's like they are trying to make it hard to buy a hat from Instagram.) The store is awesome and has a great vibe. The staff is honest and will not push you beyond your comfort level but are a great hype team if you need the extra push. They always welcome you back into the store with your hat to give it a steam or a quick brush off. I have yet to add feathers or add-ons to my hats. Even though I have a dozen+ Goorin hats -- it's just a bit too much attention to me and the hat. But I have watched hats go from cool to amazing and I wish I had the style/confidence to pull it off. I use my hats as everyday hats -- hoodies and a fedora is not out the question for my outfit on a Sunday morning breakfast run. Lucky Tip: Go during a weekday and enjoy the experience. Wear the hat out like you did as a kid when you got new shoes. Go grab a pizza next door at Tony's and have an amazing day/evening. You can shop online but going to the store is better. Not all hats remain the same size. Wicker hats tend to shrink up on me a bit -- just a bit but it's noticeable and frustrating. So if you are between sizes go with the next one up. The hat quality is amazing. Felt hats tend to lose their stiffness (dean the butcher) but bounce right back into shape with a little touch. Take care of the soft hats and they will last forever. I have a few that are now going on 5-6 years old and they look amazing. They just moved away from an old skool customer loyalty program/stamp card to a digital process that is less than clear how it works. If you are new to hats -- flat caps are a gateway drug.

Visited in search of the perfect fall hat. We only came close, but not for lack of effort. The friendly and helpful service made the experience easy and fun. Don't miss the next door / linked section with more casual and fun (sassy?) selection of hats.

Bought a trucker hat because I was told it was 50% off. The salesperson told me to my face that it was on sale. Full retail for the hat is $75 (I would not have bought it for that much). At 50% off, yes please. Bought it along with another $180 hat. Was happy. Noted today, a month later, that I was not given a discount on the trucker hat. I called and they told me (Robin) that there was nothing on sale in that "capsule" and that I should take it up with customer service. I understand it was not Robin's sale or their fault. I was just blatantly swindled. I love Goorin Brothers and have a lot of hats from them...but this just sucks.

The Best Hat Shop ever. Goorin Bros are leaders in fashion in the hat industry in my opinion. Robyn is amazing, she makes the whole experience perfect. If you go in and are serious about buying a hat you are going to leave with the best hat for you. Guaranteed!!!!!!

Goorin bros cemented my hat addiction, and I am always complimented on their styles. Many hats, feathers and caps later, I still love stopping to see what's new and to chat w the knowledgeable crew there.

Lemme give you a quick heads-up - Goorin Bros. is the best hat store in the Bay Area. And their North Beach location is the best one in the Bay Area. I used to come here for all my fedora needs. But in the past year, I've taken a liking to their funny line of trucker caps. Each one has an ironic animal/slogan on the front (eg a dog that says "Weiner"; a Squirrel that says "Nuts"; and a grey hat that says "Silver Fox"). Maybe it's not funny to you, but it cracks me up. Trust me, these hats are always a great conversation starter at meet-ups and parties. Most of these caps run between $20 - $30. They're super comfy and well made. And if they get too dirty or sweaty, you can always rinse them out in the dishwasher (it takes just a few minutes). Service at the North Bay location is always super friendly. You can try on as many hats as you'd like without someone giving you a dirty look. I've never left this store without one or two new purchases. Thankfully, this store isn't in my hood... otherwise, I'd be broke and have a closet full of hats. Long story short, when it comes to hat shops, Goorin Bros. is head and shoulders above the rest!

Today I purchased my third hat from them, will be posting pictures too! Service is great and the staff has great suggestions. I purchased all summer hats and will be back for their fall and winter selections. They have men, women sizes small to large in ladies, I don't know the sizes for the men hats. I love that the three that I purchased are a little different. My black hat is travelable it can fold and hold its shape. Go in and see the team!

One of the best experiences at a Goorin Bros I've had, and I've been a customer for many years over multiple locations. Robyn was incredibly helpful.

Came in Wednesday 11/20/19 about 6:30. The store was holding the last size small County Line Fedora hat for me. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came in but I was greeted by an awesome group of East coast guys. They were al so incredibly nice. We all chatted, laughed and they help to set me up with properly fitting the hat and feathers. The hat is absolutely beautiful. They taught me how to temporarily roll up which I hope I remember. I already used the hat when I went to the rainy redwoods that weekend. I post pics of the hat. It's my favorite and I'm anxious for another one! PROS: - flagship store - held my desired item - accommodating to me having to drive from An hour away for the hat - all the staff there was super awesome, helpful, and great to chat with. If the store had drinks and snacks I would've stayed all night. Ha - located in an area where I went to grab a drink and snack right after - got to use my discounts - great shop with tailored experience, like shopping used to be for fine quality items CONS: - parking is challenging. Would be great if the website gave helpful tips about parking - no where on website for me to order the felt fillers for small heads. Don't want to drive an hour to get another one and I lost mine

Came in for the first time the other day and had a wonderful experience. I'm a fancy-hat novice, but Robin was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She helped me pick out the right style and fit for me. Customer service is top notch here and the hats are gorgeous. Will definitely be back!

Inventory was thin and it was a bit crowded, but I found a hat, amazingly. What they had in hand was really nice, I hate that I came between inventory runs. Service left a lot to be desired. Three guys there and one was on his phone, one working the register and one with customers. I'll be back, as I like quality hats, but I hope to hit my visit with a better selection.

The single best retail experience of my life. Robyn was amazing for helping me pick the greatest looks, she shaped and fitted them to me perfectly and was just an incredible and sweet person through the process. Ever since we've found out about Goorin Bros., we love their hats and own many of them. The quality is great and they are so stylish and comfortable to wear. We get so many compliments from people whenever and wherever we wear them.

I can't say enough about this place. The hat selection and staff, especially Michael, are the best. All of their hats are designed in the USA, most are made in the USA unless there is something unique about the material (I recently purchased an Italian suede flat cap that is get this, water resistant. Excellent craftsmanship and customer service.

What an elegant and awesome shop in North Beach right on Washington Square Park. This is one of the nicest Hat Shops around and is well worth a visit whether you are coming in with an agenda or just to browse for some new ideas. I've been impressed all around. There is an old school quality to this shop. ... Of course, it's North Beach, so that feeling is not entirely unique. Walking in the store, the whole experience comes together - Dark wood shelves, high quality merchandise, helpful and attentive service and cool accessories. Goorin Bros. makes some terrific quality hats in a variety of styles and a good selection of sizes. The store is spacious and spread between two high-ceilinged rooms with windows looking out towards Washington Square Park. It's a fun place to look around if you're passing by. I've been impressed with the service, which is friendly but not overly hovering. I also really like the accessories, such as the cuff links, tie clips and hat feathers - all very cool.

We had such an amazing and personal experience with "Tall Tara". Tara confidently and expertly picked out hats for my wife and I. She took the time to educate us on all the fine details for the care of these beauties. Prices are very reasonable for these top quality hats and section is wide ranging for all types of style. If I could give 10 stars I would. I've shopped here for years. Previously at the Haight St. location, which is closed now. But I finally made it to the North Beach location to freshen up my selection. I will be back for as long as Thomas is there. He is a true gem. Patient and helpful, knowledgeable and kind. The type of customer service you just don't stumble upon anymore. I didn't want to leave. I could have spent the whole afternoon there with him, but that would have verged on stalker status. So instead I happily took my hats home and raved about him to any friend that would listen. Do yourself a favor and shop here should you find yourself in need of a hat. Just make sure Thomas is there to guide you through the journey!! The hats themselves are worth every penny. They last a lifetime. The quality is impeccable. I've never regretted a purchase here!!

Since the Melrose location didn't have my size in stock, I gave this location a call and Steven was very helpful with getting the order processed quickly and efficiently. Much appreciated!

Oh boy, this place is bad if you're trying to save money. Don't come in here if you are. If you are going to come in anways, I would say hide your pocket book or give it to someone else to hold and tell them do not give it to you no matter what. If you have ever thought about getting a hat (other than a baseball cap (they have this too but with more style than the typical)) and wasn't sure, this store is for you. They have a bunch of different style hats for you as well as finely crafted custom hats. They could also alter it a little if needed to make it fit you better. I wish there were more hat stores like this around. I know they have an online store, but there's nothing like trying on a hat personally and seeing how the hat adds a whole new different character to your look. I guess I'll just have to make a trip out to SF.

I had a wonderful experience with this store. I asked if I could have a video meeting to look at the hats before coming to try them on considering I live across town and the manager Robin was happy to accommodate. I found their style to be very professional and friendly, I was very well taken care of and would highly recommend them to anybody looking for a hat!

Horrible customer service!!!!! I ordered two hats online and received my orders on time. I Wanted to change out to a different size and I requested an exchange. Return process went smooth however, they shipped my return to a wrong address. When I followed up with customer service by sending them several emails almost no reply. I tried to call them by a number provided in their website it is impossible to be able to speak to someone.

Went in admittedly close to closing and not one familiar face. What happened? The door was boarded up, The (no) help was on their phone. It looked, in a word, sloppy.

Oh my god. I have never dropped off as much as money as I have on a hat before in my entire life. I initially entered Goorin Bros. for my friend, Cullen, who actually needed a hat as sun protection. Well, the moment I stepped in I found myself in love with the different styles they carried that reminded me of various decades of the past. I was in love with the store and then I fell in love with a wool fedora that cost $150. I was surprised at the price and I wasn't sure if I could justify it. The sales associate, Serena, allowed me to wear it around the store as Cullen shopped around. Yep, Serena knew she had me and she knew that this was the hat for me. By the way, Serena made sure that my first-hat experience was AMAZING. So, Serena, THANK YOU for being an amazing sales associate who really knows the facts about the different types of hats, the styles, and the care for the hat. She gave me the run-down on how I should brush my hat and she even personalized my fedora by picking a random feather and placing it there (costs an extra $6, but what the heck, I'm already throwing down so much money it doesn't even matter right?!)... She also told me I need a hat box, and to be honest I didn't even know they existed until this trip... So I'm definitely going to buy myself a hat box when I have the chance. She also told me how to steam my hat, how to keep its shape... I mean, if you are in the neighborhood to buy a hat, go talk to her and ask her for advice/more information. Also - I tried to stop by and get more information about hat-care from her on the day I had to leave, but she wasn't there. Darn! Hahah... I ended up getting a hat-care-kit to make sure I didn't mess up my expensive hat I'm so jealous San Francisco has so many Goorin Bros. - the closet one to me is in Pasadena and I'm in Orange County (it'll take me an hour to get there). Go get yourself a hat people! Whether it's for style or sun protection, you won't be disappointed by their selection and their great customer service. I definitely want another hat... They really do make fantastic ones!

I've shopped with them for years, and have always been so pleased with the time and knowledge the staff is always willing to share. The clerks work with you to not only select the best hat (based on your head/face profile, your style and lifestyle) but to also ensure you get the best fit possible with their steamer and stretching tools. They offer a strong after the sale approach as well; providing care and storage tips to keep your hat in great shape, as well as offering to do no cost maintenance by steaming it back into shape to correct warps, folds and creases you may encounter over time. They also carry boxes, treatment sprays and tools to keep your hat at its best. I've been helped more than once by Serena, and she not only a storehouse of knowledge, but was just as helpful after the sales as she was during it - not always the case in a retail environment.

DO NOT BUY! If you should happen to recieve an item that does not fit or is damaged, YOU WILL PAY! The customer service at Goorin Bro.'s is so absolutely atrocious that they have ruined the reputation of what used to be a fine retailer. It is tragic what has happened to Goorin Bro.'s. If you dare to return an item, you will face the horrendous attitude and condescension of their customer service team while you fight with them to get your money back. Good luck!

I love coming in here. The shop is artisan & professional. It's elegantly cool, & cooly elegant. The vibe is "we may be pretty stylish & kinda swanky, but we're too cool & easy like Sunday morning to get all caught up in it." These guys & gals are serious about hats. I always think I need another fedora; when in actuality I really don't. So, most recently I purchased a stunning hat called Mrs. Franklin in the color natural. Love, love, love. My hat hostess was Tara, & she definitely knows her stuff & what works. She paired the Mrs. Franklin w a scarf that was a gorgeous shade of coral. What clinched the 5 stars is that, once I told her that we were on our way to coffee & then brunch next door at PT, she said she would treat my new hat w weather protectant & it would be ready for me when we were done. Just in case I want to wear it later. What a rockstar. When I returned to pick up my lovely new hat, my hat host, Jeffrey, was also a rockstar. Extremely personable & informative, just like Tara. They even give a neighborhood discount. I love coming in here. 5 stars.

I love a good lid! And the good folks at Goorin Brothers make it happen! Having just finished dinner at Tony's Pizza, I saw the sign and had to go over. The selection here is fantastic (Alas, I was sadden that I could not find a Parsons Hat and worse yet, they could not tell me where to find one...the quest continues)! The prices too are very good. Indeed, I found myself vacillating between one hat and another; between great hat boxes and supplies to keep your lid in tip-top form. I was pressed for time otherwise I might have made a procurement. Best of all? The people who work here make you want to come back. There was no pressure to buy or hurry up and get out. There was even encouragement to try different hats on and to ask questions. It was real customer service and I pray that translates into sales! Heavens knows I'll be back to buy!

A very cool hat store with a very annoying return policy... they basically make it almost impossible for you to return anything... But, the designer hats are really impressive - I'm talking impressive stitching, patchwork, special materials, neat hat shapes, and more. I also bought a great scarf on sale. The best part of my scarf purchase was the awesome tote bag that my purchase was packed in. It's got a fun look and was free!

I cannot remember the name of the gentleman who assisted me. However, I came in today in search of the perfect hat for my trip to England. It was such a breeze, not only do I now have the perfect hat, but they were super knowledgeable. Super stoked on my hat!!!!
