The Essential Guide to Yokohama, Japan

"A coffee roastery and bakery that freshly roasts over ten coffee varieties each morning and pairs them with tempting baked goods—standouts include yuzu cinnamon rolls and mochi-flour donut holes—plus outdoor seating under a historic boulevard that makes it a pleasant spot to start the day." - Kim Kay

Stopped by around 11 am on Tuesday. It was so hot that we had to make a quick pit stop. We both ordered soft-serve ice cream which had lemon flavor…OMG! It was super refreshing!! Not too sweet, and it hit the right spot. I will come back for a cup of coffee, as the aroma of coffee variety was amazing!

Excellent coffee. You choose your cup size, and then you go over to the 12 different pots of coffee and pour in the one you want. You are even encouraged yo mix up your own blend of the different types of coffee. You can have ice or hot coffee. There is plenty of seating outside. It is very peaceful watching people walk by and the gardeners watering the curbside plants and people walking their dogs. The place also has convenience store food as well as yummy bakery goods.

Popular morning coffee cafe .. one of a very few open 7am. Weekend highlight - a classic car showcase.

Great tasting drip coffee, wish they had some Espresso options too though. I really love their outdoor seats along the wide Oodori pavement, but the thing is there are so few of them and there rarely is enough to go around for everyone. Pls add more seats outdoors!!

A mix of cafe/bakery/convenience store in one. Has many types of coffee, beer and snacks. Unfortunately, only has a few tables outside to enjoy the food and is primarily offering food for take-away. However, there are a lot of benches near the shop, so that's an alternative. It's also not too far away from Yokohama Park. Try the mixed flavour soft serve ice cream (coffee and milk) in summer!

No overpriced fancy lattes or hazelnut frappachinos here. Just good, strong, reasonably priced coffee. Sandwiches, cakes and snacks are good too. It's primarily a take-away but if you're lucky you can even get a table on the pavement and enjoy watching life go by.

Yelp
Gooz (グーツ) is a great convenience store chain operated by Three F, with fresh baked goods, bentos, onigiri, and coffee along with other kinds of snacks and food (but without a lot of the massive assortment of other products many convenient stores carry). None of it's the best you will have ever had, but it's all good, and it's better than what the other konbini have on offer. Gooz stores also often have a few tables out on the sidewalk so you can sit and eat what you just bought--kind of a self-service cafe. This particular location couldn't be better, with tables both right next to the shop and others on the sidewalk facing Nihon odori. It's not quite the European cafe experience, but it's not bad. The tables fill up quickly in the mornings and at lunchtime tho'. In that case, if so inclined, you can grab your lunch and walk over to Yokohama Koen (Yokohama Park) or up the street to Zo no Hana Koen (Elephant Trunk Park).
