The gopchang (intestines) here were okay, but noticeably different from the New York location. In NY, they’re crispier, cleaner tasting, and just have a better texture overall. The Annandale version felt a bit chewier and less flavorful, like they weren’t grilled quite right.

Last Saturday night. it was the worst service ever! I think all the servers didn't know the meaning of buffet and service. Why? Because they don't care how hard it is to call them to get food. We paid $50 per person, but when we tried to order food, it was hard to call them 😡. I've never been so angry before. They made us wait too long, and it wasn't busy at all! This place sucks when it comes to their service, and they didn't even change our roast, which was burnt! Do you want us to get cancer? How can you open a restaurant if you don't care about customers' health? Another thing, they didn't have a heater, it was so cold in there. The last thing I want to say is that buffets are unlimited food, if you say all you can eat, that means customers can eat whatever they want. If you want to limit your food, please stop selling buffets. Also, their meat changed flavor.

Fabulous experience! Ordered small intestine fried rice and large assorted intestines. The small intestine was very clean without a gamey/stinky smell and the fried rice was delicious as always…bonus point for presentation. Our server Jay was super goofy and made the special birthday dinner even more special. Birthday boy was extremely pleased with his birthday dinner 🎉

I can proudly say that I try almost every Gopchang location in the United States 😍 All of them are great, delicious but this location is unique because they have pork skin 🥰 Highly recommend!!

Google
This Korean restaurant never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, made with high-quality ingredients. The servers are always attentive and friendly, making each visit pleasant. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the bathrooms are clean—something I really appreciate. Highly recommend!

Google
Korean bbq spot with tortillas?? Changed my rating from a 4 to a 5, had pretty good service as well, getting the meat was quick, changed the pan often for us when it got burnt, meat was also pretty good. No complaints personally, shout out to the staff, very friendly

Ordered delivery for Large Intestine and Fatty Brisket Rice Bowl - it’s super good, and came along with a set of sides!

Google
I've been looking forward to coming here and am super happy that I did. It's going to become my favorite place to have grilled intestines. It's clean throughly, so it doesn't have a weird smell/taste when eating. They prepared it mostly in the back and finished the cooking when they brought it out to your table. It was great! I tried the soup, too, but wasn't a big fan. It's just too salty for me.

Yelp
I have a love-hate relationship with this place. Ever since the pandemic, all the late-night KBBQ places in Annandale stopped being 24/7 or open past 11pm-12am. All hungry late night guests had to rely on Tosokchon after the club and my oh my has Tosokchon gone off the deep-end... they literally do not care if their food is old, not well-made or overpriced. Then one day Gopchang Story decides to stay open until 2am - Hallelujah! This place was my go-to since then since all their options tastes high quality. As for why my rating went down... I came again when they offered AYCE. This seemed like a dream come true because I love this place. But.. BUT.. the all you can eat was ruined because they are stingy with the portions. I had a table of 4 but the serving size was only enough for one person. How can you give 4 hungry people 6 pieces of meat at a time? To make matters worse, it took forever for us to flag the server down to get more meat. It became obvious this was some sort of tactic to save money and make guests suffer small portions to get full over time waiting on every little serving we can get. I'm never coming here for all you can eat ever again. Again, I'm leaving my rating at a 4 star out of my respect for when I came here at 1am and my hunger was satisfied. I hope they take my review into consideration to improve the AYCE serving sizes and service.

Yelp
I found this restaurant off a food page on Instagram... their handle was like hyper foods or something like that. Mainly came here because they opened until 2am, but I was very shocked to find out that it's not just a late-night spot - it's an absolute GEM! The quality was superb. I did not try the gopchang, but the beef brisket was insanely good. The Galbi and Pork puts the other late night KBBQ to shame. I will never step foot in Tosokchon ever again after this HAHA! Gopchang Story Annandale; you will be seeing me again soon :)

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday night because I was craving some kbbq and the intestines that this place was known for and so glad I did. When I first arrived there's was only 3-4 other tables, the host told me that I needed to wait a bit for my table as it needed to set it up (which meant putting down plates, all the side dishes, and turning on the stove I believe) before I could get seated which was fine as it only took less than a minute. We ended up ordering the beef brisket soy bean casserole, the beef tartare, the steamed egg with tofu and of course a small portion of large intestines. The beef brisket casserole was ok, I did find the soup to be quite thick from all the spices so I didn't enjoy drinking it as a soup. I was quite surprised that there were glass noodles in the dish which I liked but overall I wouldn't order it again. The steamed egg and tofu I didn't like at all (which was kind of my fault as I was looking more for that traditional steamed egg and didn't ask when I ordered). However I wish there was some kind of description or something on the menu that indicated it would be served with this kind of sauce or this way as it was very overly salty and made the dish hard to enjoy. The beef tartare was pretty good especially mixed with the raw egg yolk as it was nicely seasoned and was pretty tender, the slices of pear on the side also gave it a nice added texture and added to the overall flavor of the dish. And lastly the large intestines were served pretty much cooked by the time it came out so we didn't have to wait much longer to enjoy it which was nice. We did let it sit for a bit as I like them to be a little more on the crunchy and crispy side for the outside, one of my favorite dishes here and can't go wrong. Now for the service, which I thought was kind of interesting as at first I couldn't tell who worked there and who was a customer since no one was wearing any kind of uniform or anything but just their normal clothing which can be confusing especially since it took me a bit to realize who actually was working after getting sat, especially when most of them are just wearing tshirts and jeans or a hoodie and jeans. Of course this place is pretty casual given how late they are opened and the type of food they serve but this was a first time I've seen it like this going into a restaurant. Our server was pretty attentive and made sure our casserole and small intestine dish were fully cooked before we could eat them, and also made sure to check up on us throughout our meal. Overall, it was a pretty nice experience and I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

Yelp
It was quick and fast. Not busy at all. There was plenty of places to be seated. It's great for dates, friends, and families. It's interesting that they cook the intestines on a hot plate. I got the assorted intestines and I believe one of the beefs. The intestines is an interesting texture like you slurp a straw and it's very chewy. Not sure it's my favorite and if I would get it again...

Yelp
The food was great, but their soybean paste soup is honestly bleh... 1 out of 5. Disgusting. Service is good. Ambiance is chill vibes good for groups too.

Yelp
Love gopchang, love gopchang. Idk how many times I need to say this. I love their side soups that you can order with the intestines. I personally LOVE the fatty big intestines extra crispy. Pair that with the chives and sauce.. *chefs kiss* Open late night on weekends as well so a great place to go sober up or end the night.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was ok here but I feel like the Centreville location does a better job especially with the fried rice with the left over intestines. They are well staffed. Plenty of seating available for large or small groups.
google avatar

Clara S.

Yelp
I've been to both the Annandale and centerville locations. The gopchang here was very good-- the gopchang didn't have any funky smell and the sauce was yummy. Ambiance is very chill and service is friendly. Good to come with friends or family!

Yelp
I've been here 4 times now and it has never disappointed! Today, we were a party of 5 adults and 1 baby. We had more than enough food! We got 1 large intestines gui (large) and 1 small intestine gui (large). I loved the side dishes especially the kimchi cucumber and potato salad. I'm, also, a big fan of the dipping sauce! My favorite is the small intestines! Since for me, small intestines are more flavorful meanwhile the large intestines are more juicer. It is fatty side so we, also, ordered kimchi buckwheat noodles which helped reset the taste and oily feeling. Then we got 4 servings of rice and still ended up have food to take back home. The rice was a good kind of spice and we loved it!

Yelp
My go to place to eat gopchang! This is my second time in a roll coming for my birthday! You can tell how much I enjoy it. For a party of 5, we got a large Gopchang, small intestines, and a large daechang, large intestines. I will admit two large dishes were more than plentiful, and we would have done just fine with the regular size. On top of that, we got noodles to help wash down the grease from the meat, which is the perfect combination. It was kimchi based and it was so refreshing and much needed to help cleanse my platte. Must get even on winter days. The difference between Gopchang and daechang. Gopchang has more flavor and is smaller. Daechang is more juicer and fattier. I personally like the Gopchang more. You must get the rice mix after finishing your meat!!! This is a must because truthfully this is my favorite part of the meal.

Yelp
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE GOPCHANG AND WILL GO ABSOLUTELY CRAZY FOR IT. This has been the sole place for fulfilling my gopchang cravings. Service has always been good here. All the waiters are very attentive. Not much is cooked on the spot. Bulk of the cooking is behind the scenes. They just bring out the gopchang once it's fully cooked and then heat it in front of you so it's crispy and juicy! Normally always opt for the assorted intestines whether that be the smaller or large option. My parents and I are able to demolish the large option without feeling too full. Not sure if that's a good metric to gauge how much to order (but I love gopchang). We always ask for the fried rice after we finish most of the meat. They cut the leftover meat and veggies really small and add rice with sauce. You have the option to add masago, cheese, egg, and nori to the fried rice. Yes the option costs money but it's totally worth it. I LOVE it all upgraded and what not. Depending on the waiter, we've gotten cute faces in our fried rice. Def recommend!! Tip: I keep the rice on the pan and make the rice super crispy before scooping it.

Yelp
Making the rounds on KBBQ restaurants in Annandale and no lie when I say I've been to pretty much every establishment in the area. Gopchang is known to serve intestines and I'm not a fan of that so we've never been. It's not a huge restaurant but it looks clean with the standard industrial type vibe of KBBQ joints. Looks like they are going to go to AYCE beginning in Nov 2023 for folks who like AYCE. Personally, I find the quality of the meat drops with AYCE so I prefer ordering a la carte. They do offer a few package deals - beef, premium beef, pork. We want a combination of beef and pork so order separately. We go with our usual- Kalbi, Chadoelbegi (brisket), and pork belly. The cut of the brisket is a bit odd...it is a bit thicker cut or cut against the grain. Not sure what but it isn't the typical brisket that can get nice and crispy due to the thinness. The pork belly is a bit extra fatty but suppose good if you like it that way. Kalbi is pretty flavorful and good. The small dishes (banchan) aren't really up to the standard of others. Limited variety and on the small side. Disappointing. We also don't get the complementary steamed egg or the tofu beanpaste soup like others offer. To sum it up, Gochang is OK. Definitely not the best of Annandale but probably acceptable if you can't get into the other more popular places. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Worth the long drive! Satisfied my gopchang craving. I would probably get the large intestine next time which tasted the best among all the parts. Recommend adding rice cakes.

Yelp
Came back on a Saturday night around 11pm. Very empty and slow. We ended up being the only table for a while. Two other parties showed up midway through our time here. Service was great. Food was still about the same quality. The beef tartare though was lacking in quality yet again. However while enjoying my meal my friend saw a cockroach crawl across one of the tables behind me. When I turned around to look that's when the staff took notice. After I turned back around one of the staffs immediately went to try and catch the cockroach.....

Yelp
The gopchang was very good. First time trying it and it tasted great. The kbbq on the other hand was pretty good but not amazing. The all you can eat menu has a limited selection of meats and it also comes with tortillas for wrapping meat??? A little odd but it's optional so no biggy.
google avatar

Yelp
Have been coming for a while now and always get the large assorted intestines - This time we decided to try out the AYCE Kbbq option and can confidently say we do not recommend :' ) The meat is extremely sub par compared to other locations and the grill heat is really difficult to control. Our server step away for a short bit but the meat would immediately burn and they keep their portion sizes fairly small. The pork belly is fine, the brisket is really dry and the galbi is too sweet. I only left it at two stars because we still like the assorted intestines.
google avatar

Yelp
I absolutely love the vibe of this restaurant. The way it looks is simple and unique, and the customer service is excellent! My friend and I ordered small intestines gui, marinated assorted intestines gui, beef brisket, and a intestine tofu stew. Everything was really good! I loved the cleanliness of the intestines, the flavor and spice of the marinade, and the chewiness of the rice cake. The beef brisket was also delicious, especially with all the banchan. And the tofu stew was very hearty. I even made my own ramen soup with the leftovers. If you like intestines and authentic Korean cuisine, I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Yelp
food was great i love the intestine server the guy was very friendly love how they open late for people that work late

Yelp
It could've been 3 stars but the roach brought it down to 2 stars. Food is tasty but the service is ridiculously embarrassing to experience. The servers and kitchen staff were all standing together like Meerkats and NO ONE was able to help us order. 6-7 people were standing all together looking around, Spanish girls looking at us directly and yet no one came to take our order. The servers and food runners need to train or learn their table numbers. The girl kept bringing out the wrong meat and side items multiple times. Some of the meat options were from Option B, while we all ordered Option A. We made sure the check reflected well. Annandale is filled with kbbq and this one was a huge fail.
google avatar

Ellen D.

Yelp
My friend and I finally decided to give this place another try.. and I honestly can not say that we had a better experience. Their pork belly was fresh this time around and was cooked very well. The intestines were chewy and we weren't able to get it cooked well, but maybe thats just user error. Our friends say that the Chantilly/Centreville one is better..so I think I'll give them one more try in that location.

Yelp
Stopped by for a late dinner since the comedy show we went to ended late. We were hankering for some Korean bbq but realized most would not be open by the time we arrived. Friends have recommended this spot before. I am a huge fan of intestines and that's what this place specializes in. I'd say the Korean bbq is secondary here. We ordered the Marinated Assorted Intestine Gui. The sauce in this dish is amazing and takes this dish to another level. It was so good I dipped the Korean bbq meat in it. We also ordered the beef and pork set. It came with beef brisket, beef ribeye, pork shoulder, pork belly. We also had an order of the steamed egg. We really wanted the fried rice add on which you can opt to do after you eat most of the intestines. Unfortunately they ran out of rice. I heard this option is a nice way to end the meal. The server was wonderful. One of the best I've experienced at any Korean restaurant. He was attentive, friendly, and overall amazing! I'll definitely be back to try the fried rice! Go check these guys out!
google avatar

Zarin B.

Yelp
Boyfriend and I shared the small portion of the small intestine gui which was SOOOO good. It came with veggies and rice cakes. Definitely enough to fill us up on its own but we also got the seafood pancake which was probably the best seafood pancake I've ever had. Banchan was also delicious. I'll be craving gopchang all the time!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Gopchang Story offers a distinctive culinary experience centered around beef tripe, a delicacy that may be unfamiliar to some. The gopchang here boasts a delightful blend of chewiness and savory richness, showcasing the restaurant's expertise in preparation. Also, the staff's attentiveness enhances the overall dining experience, making patrons feel welcomed and attended to. Despite the higher price point, the combination of exceptional gopchang and top-notch service earns Gopchang Story a solid 4 out of 5. A rare gem in the area, where good service complements the distinctive flavors on the menu. Fair warning: it can get extremely busy here so I recommend going for lunch rather than dinner. * For those don't know what gopchang is: gopchang, or beef tripe, has a unique taste characterized by a slightly chewy texture and a rich, savory flavor. It can absorb the seasonings it's cooked with, offering a combination of meatiness and the essence of marinades or sauces used in preparation.

Yelp
I love love love love gopchang story. I love gopchang story so much I've had my birthday here. The signature gopchang set is phenomenal. Don't let the ingredients deter you. They make the gopchang super super clean here and it tastes delicious, juicy, fatty. I love the crispy rice cakes that offset the greasiness as well. Finally, the rice they fry after the meal is absolutely to die for. I will probably be back for my birthday again!
google avatar

Yulee K.

Yelp
The gopchang here is pretty high quality. The servers are always so friendly and nice. The 볶음밥 you order after you're done with your meat is also delicious!
google avatar

Mág T.

Yelp
I went here for the first time, not too long ago with a friend. We couldn't read the menu so the waiter just got us the standard couples option. They gave us a lot of food! I'm not sure I would've picked out the fluffy egg side dish on my own. My friend thought that maybe we could get away with taking some home but we got denied. It's somewhat expensive and we wanted to get our moneys worth. I guess the waiter just threw away the cooked meat that we couldn't take home. Wasting food makes me sad! Nevertheless it was a good meal. Not much lighting inside
google avatar

Cynthia K.

Yelp
Soo glad a place like this opened up closer to home!! Its hard to find a goood gopchang place, and this place delivers every time!! Ive tried their small intestines, large intestines, and marinated intestines! All sooo good!! Even though the spicy marinate sauce is delicious, but I will always prefer the grilled version. I love that I can grill it to my desired crispiness!! But the BEST part is the fried rice at the end! Just *chef's kiss*! The service has always been phenomenal! Always attentive, friendly, and accommodating. My go to place for gopchang for sure!

Yelp
Must try their intestines! I think we found a spot for late night BBQ/snack craving. We discovered that this place closed at 2am & we were able to do just walk in at midnight on a Saturday night. The menu has great selection, you can do soup stew, Korean bbq and their casseroles set. One of my favorites was the octopus casserole & their garlic fried rice. They have their signature sweet & chili sauce that goes so well with the bbq meat. Can't wait to go back soon to try their other casserole sets.

Emily B.

Yelp
Come here if you want to dine in an unsanitary environment and receive poor service!! As a person who has been here numerous times before, I can say that this time will be my last time. I recently came here for dinner and even before we sat down, I noticed there was a strand of hair in the kimchi which already set me off. Everything was okay until I found a SQUISHED, DEAD BUG, half way through eating my rice. We quickly informed our server and he immediately threw the rice bowl out and informed us the best he could do was to offer us 30% off on our meal. While i hate to be one of those opportunistic customers, this felt like a big slap in the face. I wish the situation could have been handled better since there was a dead bug in my meal. Ever since they switched to their AYCE options, the quality and service has definitely declined. I definitely will not be coming back to this establishment due to its disregard of food handling and safety.

Maria A.

Yelp
Food options are pretty good and overall experience was good but the service is sooooo slow. This was my second time here and service pace is the same but otherwise a good spot
google avatar

Cham K.

Yelp
This has grown to be my favorite KBBQ in Annandale. With each visit, I discover more and more menu items I genuinely enjoy. I first came for the Gopchang which was a new experience for me. I've had intestines in other cultures, but never the Korean version. I only seem to like it when it's extra EXTRA crispy. I wasn't sure if I'd return because I'm a beef guy and need my beef. I'm glad I returned because their beef options are EXCEPTIONAL! I thought I was in Los Angeles with the way the beef came out; not to mention you can taste the quality (much better chew than the cheap AYCE beef). Third visit, I realized not only was the beef amazing, but their pork-belly, corn cheese, seafood pancake, practically the entire menu was top tier. Never judge a place by one visit. Try the whole menu and you will see why Gopchang Story is my favorite in Annandale right now!

Yelp
Service was terrible. There were only 3 tables seated when got there and 3 workers at the front desk and dining areas. After we got seated it took awhile before anyone took our order. Apparently the owner of the business was sat at one of the tables with his friends or family. He actually had to signal one of the staff to come to our table to take our order. Staff was at the front counter chit chatting not paying attention to the customer's needs. This happened at least 4 times throughout dinner including trying to ask for a check to pay for dinner. I think the owner should have taken the initiative to step away from the table he sat at and talked with his staff about paying more attention to his customers. Food was good but a little expensive for the lack of service. Don't think I will be going back there or recommend friends to go there anytime soon. Hopefully the owner will figure out what it takes to keep customers to come back.

Kari U.

Yelp
To be honest the customer service is extremely poor. The waitresses are a bit rude and snatched the menus away and did not come back to ask if we wanted to order more. At places like this, they come back to ask, but they did not even come to check on us even once. They forgot our drinks and our straws... I felt as though they only really checked up on bigger group that looked like they'd be willing to spend more money and order much more. We were going to order more, but with the way they were acting, we just decided to leave instead.

Amy A.

Yelp
We recently had late dinner as a family of five with three kids who are currently 10 and 12 years old and I was charged adult pricing for my three kids and when asked they stated that they only do adult prices. When I checked the receipt, they also automatically charged me 20% gratuity when we have a family of five...

Yelp
Gopchang story is a great additional to Annandale in terms of diversifying the Korean scene. On the outside, it looks like an ordinary Korean restaurant and you wouldn't know that its specialties are actually unique. But they do the best with innards and other unique cuts of intestines. I would say that several of the cuts are a little too fatty for my taste, but that's just the way gopchang is intended to be. Other than that, the ambiance and service is great. If anyone is looking for makchang/daechang or gopchang, I would recommend his place over other places that serve the same cut.
google avatar

Hunter B.

Yelp
We decided to come here since another place we went to was fully booked that day. We were able to get a seat very quickly and the wait staff was super nice. Apparently, they just started to do ayce and that was a great call. The pork belly slices were thick but still good, where I would say the soy garlic was better than the spicy. The stir-fried pork and beef brisket were both good. Something that I have not seen at any other place was their cubed rib meat, which was really good and a stand out on the menu. Not a bad place to go for some ayce kbbq.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's be real - intestines are an acquired taste. But Gopchang Story does it well. They also have a good amount of less adventurous foods too. The raw beef dish I had was very good. The beef texture very fresh and paired well with the egg yolk and Korean pear. I would definitely recommend if you're feeling adventurous. The seafood and intestines casserole was also really good and hit the spot in the cold weather! I definitely recommend getting rice at the end and mixing with the casserole to make kinda like a "fried rice", it was very good. Now onto the intestines themselves, I tried both the small and large intestines. I prefer the small ones because they are crispier, while the big ones had a more fatty texture. But both had a great flavor and the "snow powder" they put on top was also great! Service was great! A waitress accidentally dropped one of our Tteokkochi skewers, and quickly and promptly replaced it after apologizing. The waiter was attentive and provided lots of information for the question we had. Everyone was properly masked up and I truly appreciate the covid precautions they took with the plastic dividers and appropriate seating distance. 10/10 would recommend if you're looking for an adventurous eat!
google avatar

Claudia J.

Yelp
I love love love this place - I can eat here everyday if my arteries don't get clogged. The intestines we had were amazing, I prefer waiting for the large intestines to cook for awhile, until it gets really crispy and most of the fat is rendered. We always end the meal with fried rice, which happens on the same skillet the intestines are served in after you finish them. The rice soaks up all that flavor, even when I don't have the room for it, I take it to go and have it for lunch the next day :) The service was excellent as well. Organ meats can be intimidating but I'd say definitely give it a try!

Yelp
We had a few minutes waiting time but instantly we were able to get a table. We ordered intestine gui and spicy intestine gui. The grilled intestine with vegi and soju combination was amazing. It was so chewy and flavorful, best food I've tried. The service is prompt and the dining area is spacious and clean.

Yelp
Gopchang literally means intestines so go here for their dishes that involves intestines!! The restaurant is clean and and very organized. I liked that the vibe is minimalistic so the focus really is on the food!! We ordered a variety of intestines, an order of thick pork belly, and fried rice which comes at the end of the meal. Note that they also have white rice if you request it. The variety of intestines were great! They cook it infront if you and add what they call their "crack powder," which by the way, I can see why they call it that . In any case, that dish includes small and large intestines, the entrails and tripe. The small intestine is the cheesiest out of everything, then the tripe and then the large intestine and then the entrails. I thought they tasted good! The thick pork belly was also delicious! I do like mine crispy and so I made sure it was well cooked. Good stuff! No complaints here! At the end, if you have leftover intestines, you can request the fried rice be mixed in with it. They also cook this infront of you where they add egg and if you request it, cheese and roe! We did and it was delicious! So get it at the end! Yummm!

Yelp
Yummy! Had gopchang here for the first time and it was delicious. Definitely bot something I could eat too much of since its veryy heavy but the highlight is the fried rice. Super awesome service and good banchan

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Saturday and was extremely satisfied. We were seated quickly and the food came out so fast. The highlight was the large intestine. It was amazing and unlike anything I've ever had before. I would order it was the crispy rice cakes which were so flavorful on their own. The restaurant itself was very spacious and we didn't feel too close to other guests. Workers were very attentive and kind, and it also didn't hurt that they were good looking haha. Overall a great dining experience, 5/5.

Yelp
First time trying Gopchang Story! The interior is very modern and sleek. There were some leftover meat crumbs and tissue paper in the corner of our table against the wall. That was a bit of a turnoff and I think more thorough checks could be done. Even though it was a la carte, we were full after three meats. We ordered the thick porkbelly, brisket, and small order of intestines. For extras we got the steamed egg which was SUPER THICK and fluffy, along with rice and soybean soup which was delicious as well. I really enjoyed the brisket and porkbelly and got full from those two meats alone. The portions don't look like a lot, especially the porkbelly, but once it's cooked you realize you get a very good value for the price. Our server was also super helpful with cooking our meats and friendly as well. I loved the banchan that they provided and was very fascinated by their wagyu option- something I might try next time I visit.

Yelp
A few of us grabbed dinner here today because we all wanted to eat gopchang (intestines). I've never eaten gopchang before, but I was excited because I knew I would enjoy it - I mean, I love foods like chicken feet and chicken gizzards, so... We were able to split the following two (between four people) and we were quite full even though we didn't order any rice. Okay, to be fair, huge shout out to our super chill server for bringing us so much banchan. My favorites from tonight were the gamja salad with carrots and odeng (fishcakes). We were stuffed from this. ASSORTED INTESTINES GUI (SMALL) - 28.99 Ask for the yam powder while the intestines are being prepared in the grill!! It tasted good and added flavor to the gopchang. The small portion was more than enough for the four of us (probably because we don't eat all that much). I'd say most of the dish were non-gopchang items like napa cabbage, onions, rice cakes, and a big whooping amount of sliced green onions. Wow, the green onions were super fresh and was the perfect garnish to every bite of gopchang. Our table personally preferred the small intestines more because it tasted more "lean". The large intestines had a HUGE amount of fat which was tasty, but became too much after a couple bites. We also got two types of dipping sauce and I happily smothered my intestines in them for an extra kick of flavor and spice. I'd highly recommend giving gopchang here a try especially if you're curious, I mean, this place is called GOPCHANG Story! I'd probably just get the small intestines or entrails in the future, though. BEEF BRISKET - 22.99 They grilled this on the side for us because our grill was too small to handle both brisket and intestines. There wasn't a lot of brisket, unfortunately, but it sat on a fat bed of sliced green onions. I swear, they're the perfect garnish for every bite of meat. Of course, smother it with the provided sauce. The beef had a good amount of fat in them with a slightly salted flavor on its own. So delicious. I'd recommend this as it is the cheapest cut of beef that they offer. My friends and I were pretty happy about this beef brisket and the quality. I had a great first time experience at Gopchang Story tonight. I'll be back to eat more intestines and try out their other mouthwatering options (like their stews???) in the near future.

Yelp
Service was slow even though the place was not packed and there were 7+ servers. They were lounging around near reception and were not tending to the tables. Food portions were very small for their price. We were also not given proper instructions on when to eat what or what was ready and the server walked away with the heat on so some of the meat burned. Fried rice after meat is a must!

Yelp
Me and my husband are huge gopchang lovers so we drove all the way from Maryland for a weekend getaway and came here for dinner. We ordered assorted intestine gui (모듬구이) and added rice cake, soybean paste soup, and steamed egg. When we got our soybean paste soup, I noticed this huge radish in my soup. Radish is used to make broth richer but never served in small soup dish like soybean paste soup. I grew up in Korea and grew up eating Korean food and never seen a place that put a giant chunk of radish in soybean paste soup. After taking that radish out, I was only left with half the soup. We were also given a tong with a dried piece of vege (?) on it and when we asked for a new one, the waitress didn't even apologize. We were disappointed and wouldn't come back here because of these experiences.

Yelp
One of the best place to get gopchang (intestines) in Northern Virginia. (That is if you like intestines.) Highly recommend you eat there for best results (hot and crispy). They have different options and combination of small intestine, large intestine, and entrails. All were flavored and cooked perfectly. That extra sprinkle of special white powder is the flavor! The sauces and sides are great pairing to intestines. My favorite is the small intestine, it has the perfect balance of fat and flavor. Large intestine and entrails are a little harder for newbies. Large intestine tends to be too fatty and texture can be hard for some. For me, I can only really eat a couple pieces, but that flavor is better than the small intestine. I can't do entrails, because they are too iron-y or gritty. However, if they are your thing then do it, my friends enjoyed that part. I recommend eating there, because I like my intestine super hot and crispy with fresh scallion to help cut the grease. I also highly recommend doing the fried rice from the leftover grease at the end for that extra delish. Some other notable great dishes are the stew, cheese kimchi and pear beef tartar. For me, brisket and other bbq meats are good, but I would highly recommend that you get that at an actually kbbq restaurant. Gopchang is what they do best, so why be there otherwise. Attentive service, good environment, and easy parking.

Yelp
First time trying out gopchang (intestines). I was little nervous but friendly waiter who explained everything thoroughly made me feel very welcomed. Also, the restaurant was Covid friendly as there were plastic dividers between tables. We ordered small Assorted Intestine Gui (grilled small intestine, large intestine, and entrail). They pre-grilled them in the kitchen and brought it out so we can eat them right away. The intestines and fresh vegetables were on cast iron so that it's warm the entire meal. It was very good. Didn't smell/taste weird. If you like chewy things, you will like it. We also ordered Seafood Pancake (scallion pancake with assorted seafood). It's shareable appetizer. Nothing unique about it; some parts were burnt. The reason why I am giving 3 stars is because the waiter wasn't attentive. It wasn't very busy when we were there. Also, our water pitcher had food remains floating around in it. :(

Yelp
Love that nova has its very own gopchang place now! I don't have to stop by the NY one every time I go now. I've only picked up food from them, but all three times it was great. They give you a plate full of side dishes and sauce too! (Might have to remind them to pack the complimentary rice because they forgot it the first time!) I can't say their side dishes are amazing, but they're not bad. Although, if the owner is reading this, I hope they can experiment with the sauce better. The sauce in its own container that comes with the side dishes tastes like nothing and I'm really not sure why it's there. Overall, the food is great! If you pick it up, a tip is to grill it one more time on low heat when you're eating it at home. Gopchang definitely tastes better when it's hot, so please do this if you don't like lukewarm gopchang! (If you live close by, this isn't really necessary. I live ~15minutes out and I definitely didn't grill it again the first two times and it still tasted great! Just tasted greater when I re-grilled it the third time ;))
