Gopi Guesthouse And Roof Restaurant

Location - very convenient to the key sights, in heart of the bazaar. Rooftop restaurant, great views. Good food, menu and reasonable prices. Lounge area excellent to chill. Friendly staff. Room is fairly basic - backpacker type, no hot water. Fully priced (overpriced compared with everywhere else we have stayed in India but the location and limited supply of alternatives probably driving this). Rooftop restaurant area not kept clean - tables not cleaned down, rubbish on floor etc. Does not accept credit cards.

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the guesthouse. Slightly expensive compared to other guesthouses we’ve stayed in but the room was comfortable and quite clean and there was hot water (tap, not shower). Location is very good for exploring on foot or renting bicycles. Staff are lovely and very helpful. We really enjoyed chilling at the roof restaurant and ate pretty much all of our meals there, but do want to flag that we’ve just got to our next location this morning and my partner has food poisoning which must’ve come from the restaurant as we didn’t eat or drink anywhere else yesterday.

The location of the guest house is really great, it is very close to Virupaksha Temple and all the other sight seeing places are also pretty close by. The rooms are decent, the highlight of this place is its food. They serve a variety of cuisines and they are all very tasty. The staff behaviour is very good and cordial. A must stay place and if you’re staying at a different place, you should definitely try out their restaurant. Good value for money.

Related to the restaurant. Centric location, friendly staff. Tasty coffee banana shake. Omelette lacks taste and cooking. Masala dosa has a ridiculous amount of potatoes like a joke. Accompanying soup is very liquid. Coconut chutney is nice, but very spicy and instead of cooling down, it burns even more. Nice place to chill in the laying area.

Gopi Guest House is just 200 meters from Virupaksha Temple. Rooms are clean. Service is very good. Food is tasty and healthy, too. Mr.Ravi was very helpful and a good guide too. He helped us with transportation, places to choose and also with pickup-drop to the bus stand. We were only ladies and we felt very safe every minute. Will surely recommend this guest house to everyone.

Great place to be based right inside Hampi. Overlooking the Temples and the river is a fabulous location 👌 Rooms very clean. Food is fantastic freshly made to order and very yummy.
