A calm and chill vibe with friendly host family and waiters. Neat and clean. Safe. Good location Location: Walkable distance from Virupaksha temple and bus stand. Good place to start the monument sightseeing. Tour guides available at the temple. Ferry point across the river (to hippie island side) is also walkable distance. Streets are narrow so bringing a four wheeler vehicle is challenging. Bicycle rentals are nearby. No motorbike/ scooter rentals anywhere near. This is not a location with greenery and farms around. It is a place within the village. Rooms - Standard, clean and tidy rooms with clean towels and sheets for the budget price. A great value for money. Clean attached washroom with hot water. No toiletries. Laudary service is available at a very reasonable price. Restaurant - The food is tasty but overpriced. It is the case with most restaurants here but here it is more compared to others nearby. You also have options of local home food and thalis nearby for lesser price. Serving chicken and alcohol is not allowed anywhere in this location because of its proximity to temple area. There are few books in shelf to take and read. Nice and decent place to chill. Gopi Guesthouse was a wonderful experience. Before I arrived, Naresh was extremely helpful and remained so until I reached my next destination. He and his family made my stay very comfortable and heartfelt. Naresh knows all the best places and the right people to get around. I always felt safe and well looked after. I am very thankful for that. The house itself couldn’t be closer to the temples and offers a direct view of them and the river. The food is very good, with Western, Indian, and South Indian options. Altogether, I would always come back!

The rooftop seating was beautiful and boasted great views of the temple and the tungabhadra river. Highly recommend their mushroom soup and sandwiches. The service was great and the price was reasonable. Great food option in Hampi!

The owner is very cooperative. Rooms are basic but clean. Very near to Virupaksha temple. Rooftop cafe is also good. Vibes are chill. We tried their local banana flower curry and we loved it. The owner allowed us early check-in and after our checkout he also agreed to keep our bags at his restaurant.

Clean room. Clean sheets. Clean towels. Good location. Good safety. Helpful staff (booking train tickets, changing money, renting bicycles, suggestions on where to go swimming...) Friendliness and flexibility. Good English being spoken. This guesthouse has everything you want and need if you are travelling as a backpacker. The restaurant serves good vegetarian food, particularily the special thali. I will miss this place.

Gopi Guest House is a lovely spot for a relaxed meal in Hampi! The food was really good — we especially enjoyed the veg thali and banana curry. Just one tip: watch out for the wind on the rooftop, or your food and glasses might go flying! 😂 A fun, breezy place to chill after temple-hopping.

A warm cosy stay with local flavour It is a very good local property in the centre of the town. Don't expect a luxury retreat but a warm, local atmosphere in the heart of the town. Ofcourse the food is good with many options and the staff serves you well. They also arrange your town visit and pickup which is great. Nothing much to dislike if you know what kind of stay you are booking. Those expecting a hotel experience with luxurious amenities may be disappointed.

I stayed there for two nights. The room was extremely clean and you will have a beautiful view on the rooftop on the Tungabhadra river and the Virupashka temple. The restaurant itself offers good food in a nice atmosphere. I liked especially that it is a family owned business where the owners take care of you and organize things like the transfer from the nearby bus and train station in Hospet or a motobike rental
