I’ve been wanting to visit Gordy and Son for several years now, and while in Houston over Christmas, I finally did. The first thing I noticed beyond the overall all classy atmosphere was how friendly the staff were. Although this establishment is clearly upscale, and one might think that staff would be stuffy…. well nothing could be further from the truth. In short order one of the staff, Breyden, engaged us and we began to talk shotguns. When I mentioned I’m a SxS shooter, he asked if I would like to see their vault. That was a resounding Yes, and he took my wife and I on a tour where I got to see Purdey, H&H, Boss, Woodward, David McKay Brown, et al. up close. It was spectacular. And Breyden could not have been more friendly or informative. We went back the next day because my wife I had seen a shirt that she really wanted. We were greeted just as warmly the prior day, and I had the pleasure of speaking with another staff member, Jimmy Walker, who was very friendly. This is my new favorite place. They check all the boxes. One last thought, Breyden, I wish I hadn’t shouldered that Grulla…. it was perfection.

Went in for my first over under shotgun today. Amazing selection, even had left hand models, and Troy was incredibly helpful. Picked out a beautiful Rizzini! Troy gave me a tour of the gun smith work area and the gun vault was absolutely amazing!!

Ended up here today because we were looking for more of the Poncho Outdoors shirts that my husband just started wearing. He really likes them and he looks great in them. Sure I could order them online but why wait? Besides, I want to see some of the patterns in person to be sure he will look good in them. The selection here was very nice with many colors and styles to choose from. After looking at the shirts we spent time looking around and let me just warn all the wives out there—this place is like a candy store for men. Lots of fishing and hunting attire, fishing supplies, guns and knives. Not the same old same old stuff you see at other places. Here the guns are high end and lots of custom ones too. Plus, lots of Benchmade knives—his favorites. Troy was the person who helped us. He was unbelievably warm and friendly. My mom was with us so after she and I walked around the store, we sat happily in their cozy and comfortable leather chairs. In the mean time, Troy showed my husband lots of the amazing “confections” they had. It’s so refreshing to go into a place for the first time and to genuinely be welcomed in. Everyone there was lovely. Now that we have discovered this store I can confidently say we will be back.

What an incredible store. It was a short visit for me because of time constraints but I was not expecting the store to be such an upscale experience. Very knowledgeable, friendly staff. Phenomenal selection of fly fishing gear for every type of angler. I stocked up pretty well 👊🏽

Very cool store. All the brands that very few others have. Sitka, orvis, sims, poncho, first lite, filson, ball & buck. Stylish

Great selection in-store/on-hand. Much preferred to drop-shippers that can't show pics of an actual product and can't tell you when exactly you might get it. Service is excellent and responsive via phone & email. Simply a class above and worth spending a few extra bucks to have the right folks that you can reach out to with questions.

Paradise for an upscale hunter or fishing enthusiast!! Gordy & Sons is an elegant store with beautiful rustic-chic decor and lots of clothes, accessories, guns, fishing equipment, etc... of the very highest quality. i recently bought a DuBarry jacket on sale there and am really pleased with it. The treasures in the gun safe are incredible. The staff are also really nice and approachable. Everytime we've gone, they've offer us complimentary soft drinks, coffee, Topo Chico, wine and spirits. Last of all, alongside the building is their own fly casting pond and they regularly hold classes such as fly tying, etc.. A lovely experience for a "country gentleman"!

No place like it, especially seeing how immaculate the compound and building is. Great service and team as soon as you walk in. You know you're walking alongside some pros in the hunting world, who spend a great deal in their hobby, once you enter the compound. Therefore, I see why this place can seem very elite. I had a blast walking around and adding goodies beyond what we came for, who would have thought!? The pond out back was beautiful! It had live fish and allowed you to practice fly fishing or even just try some of the equipment that they had out. Cannot wait to go back! Thank you for offering us some delicious beverages.

An outstanding place for all your hunting and fishing needs. I went by yesterday to pick up a new TFO Baby Blue Water fly rod and the staff was exceptional, especially Baron. He insisted on checking the rod for me before I left the store and provided a couple of quick pointers. I'll have to go back, when I have more time, and chat with him a bit longer. You can't go wrong shopping here.

If you fish salt water and hunt it is a great place. Staff is helpful and they have a lot of equipment in stock.

Awesome customer service! I was in a time crunch and the store wasn't even open yet and they were willing to let me in and make a purchase. From having to open a gate and have someone else from another floor to let me into the elevator and then to the correct sales associate and floor. They didn't have to go through all of that... So rare for this to happen these days and it didn't go unnoticed or unappreciated! Thank you again Gordy and Sons...the best manners I've seen in along time!

Have the biggest selection of Sitka gear I have ever seen. Literally every product and camo shade that Sitka offers. Have a superb selection of fishing rods, reels, lines, flies, and accessories, as well as lots of hunting jackets (European, American, and camo styles), more than shotguns than Cabela's, and a decent selection of handguns, knives, and rifles. The outdoor private casting pond is stocked with peacock bass and catfish, and the safe in the middle of the store is amazing. They will let you handle the $300,000 guns and will tell you all about the guns' history and manufacturer, etc. All-around quality operation by the Gordy family. Don't go in here expecting to leave with a heavy wallet, but do expect to leave with a product that you will have for a very long time and knowledge that you did not have before. 10/10 recommendation from me.

This is hands down the nicest hunting and fishing gear and apparel store in the Houston area. Very high end and has a gun vault / library with some old english shotguns costing over $500K. Very knowledgeable staff and gunsmith on-site. Also has a casting pond that's stocked. The kids love it.

By far the greatest selection of Sitka gear and other high end sportsman/hunting gear I have seen in the Houston area. If you have the means or are simply interested in the best quality gear, this is the place to go. I'm sure the place prides itself on it's service as well, as mine was phenomenal. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and took the time to get to know my name. I was even offered a complimentary beverage. I enjoyed every aspect of my time spent here!

I did an online order with them. They are first class and 5 Star all the way. Excellent customer service, fast shipping. Have great selection of items, and best price for what I was shopping for. Will be shopping here again and hope to one day visit the store.

This place is a dream land for hunters. Excellent staff and the clothing lines are top quality. If you're looking for a shotgun from budget reasonable to "don't ask what it cost", look no further.
