I just got back from camping at the Gorge Campground over Labor Day (Dave) Weekend. This was my 6th year at the Gorge, and while I’ve camped in different areas over the years, the last 4 have been in Gold/Big Rig. I also camp at various sites throughout the summer, so I’m familiar with how different campgrounds operate. The Positives: -The best improvement this year was the painted lines marking each site. In the past, parking was chaotic and stressful, but this simple change made arrival so much smoother. Kudos to LN for implementing it. We rolled in knowing we had the exact space we paid for. Excellent! -Lanes were also clearly marked, making it easy to exit if needed. -Check-in and security were seamless. The process was efficient, and every staff member was friendly and professional. It felt reassuring knowing all vehicles were being screened. -The new shower trailer was another great upgrade. Having individual lockable shower rooms gave the privacy and comfort that campers appreciate. -As always, the port-o-potties were impressively clean and well-stocked, with plenty available and regular maintenance. -I also noticed additional fencing this year, which further improved security. Wishes for the Future: -My biggest concern is still security inside Big Rig. While we receive bracelets at check-in, no one checked them after that. In reality, anyone coming back from a show could walk right in without being questioned. I understand it would take significant staff and infrastructure to monitor bracelets, but it remains a safety gap. -The price increase this year was steep. The upgrades were great, but I’d love to see prices stabilize for a few years now. -A lofty wish-list idea: it would be amazing to have e-bike or e-scooter rentals available in Big Rig for on-site use. Overall, thank you for another great weekend at the Gorge!

The music was KILLER at Tipper & Friends and the Gorge itself is BEAUTIFUL. The staff here are beyond ridiculous. We got searched at Least 15 times.. they thumbed through every dollar bill and card in my wallet and made us throw away stickers the vendors there gave us. Camp being a good 40 minute walk and being disabled made going back impossible. We were told to stop talking at our own camp site by the staff. No music AT all no matter how quietly in camp at night. None of the security people had the same list of items were were allowed to take in with us to the amphitheater. Different answer depending on which 18 year old you asked. We paid $40 each for shuttle access and then they just let everyone ride it no charge. Be prepared for steep ground and try to not let the Amubdance of cops get you down! I'll never go back but it was beautiful.

Some people seem to really like the camping experience, I don't. I camp here for Labor Dave weekend sometimes because there aren't really any other great options in the area. I love Dave Matthews and I love the venue, but the campground is like the penance I pay to access the show on time. Although I admit my bias, the Gorge campground seems to be a uniquely unpleasant experience. Firstly, it's the new enhanced security. It ruins the vibe. They search your car with DOGS each and every time you enter the camp. I feel like a criminal just for trying to pitch a tent. I remember a time when you used to be able to just come and go freely. It was much more pleasant. Secondly, the camp is huge, and rarely full, but they pack you in next to the people you camp by. Why? There is plenty of space to spread out. Thirdly, for a campground, it is extremely barren and hot. No shade at all. Many people seem content to sit around in the heat, but it drives me crazy. Many August days easily break 95F. Finally, people roam around the camp playing loud music until at least 2 am. Sorry, but I need to sleep after being up all day in the heat with a huge five hour concert in the middle. They literally have a loudspeaker on a cart, and drag it through every single row of the campground. It seems intentional to wake people up; like they don't want you sleeping just because they can't. Maybe I just don't enjoy camping, but I bet I would like this a lot more if it were more like a normal campground with no K-9 security, normal size camp lots, some trees, and no obnoxious concert goers insisting you shouldn't be able to sleep because they are insomniac partiers.

I had the BEST experience at the Grove RV Campground!! MARK IS NO DOUBT the sweetest and kindest man we met there running the Campground. We had multiple things go wrong with our RV and he helped us no questions asked! Made us feel at home and basically became part of our family! We will for sure be back next year but only if you keep Mark around! 🫶🫶 Much Love and Happy Bass Canyon

Beautiful way to experience concerts. They have an organized system to get everyone inside, parked in the right direction, while still keeping the roads to get out clear. Trashcans and porta-potties very accessible. There’s a grocery store, medical area, and ice available. The only downside is that now they have a long screening process to get in where the dogs n people search your cars for drugs and weapons since the shooting few years back; downside is that it takes a long time. We ended up cutting the long line for the car search by actually having a knife/ammo on us that we had to surrender (then pick up after event). There was no penalty for turning in a weapon.

This place keeps getting and better! We've been coming to the Gorge for years and almost always have an amazing time...apart from last years Lumineers Fiasco... Since their security updates, they have strived to make better systems, and we really enjoyed our experience for The RED Hot Chili Peppers. Take your time, pack light, be nice to your neighbors, and rotate waters and beers... Find points of reference for your campsite so you can find it late at night after the concert. Also, there is now a great general store, place to buy beers and ice, and they even played Indiana Jones on a projector for campers who came a day early!

I cannot express enough how sweet this venue is. We drove here from Portland and it was beyond worth it. The sound, the view, and just set up was 10/10. Easily the most beautiful stage I have ever been to. Recommend camping at the venue if you’re driving in! Will say, the price of drinks and food is practically highway robbery but not a surprise

Day One: Gorge Amphitheatre , Jack Johnson Immediately impressed with how friendly all of the parking guides were. We arrived around 3:20 for the 4:00 opening on the first day, camping with our ‘95 Westfalia on premier camping. First step is waiting at a staging area until the camping area opens. As for the staging area - think 5 lines of 20 cars as opposed to 100 cars in a single file. Everyone is chatty, drinking a beverage and excited about your rig. Overall the check in system is slick, but does take some time. Bring levelling blocks if you have a camper/rig, there isn’t a lot of flat real estate…special thanks to Zack for lending me the yellow Camcos! So far so good…updates to come on the concert day. Get those banana pancakes ready!
