"Feeling at Home in Berlin's Most Stylish Place To Sleep This trendy boarding house, located in Rosenthaler Platz of Berlin -Mitte, has been meticulously designed to look and feel like a typical Berlin apartment. You might even miss the entrance to the building as it's hidden between a café and a restaurant with little signage out front. But though the apartment building is clearly well-designed, it's also not as over-the-top as so many design hotels tend to be. The rooms have been individually decorated with many vintage and antique objects found at Berlin's many flea markets. Vintage photographs adorn the walls. And carefully crafted, typographic nameplates label the rooms not with numbers but with names—as if you're staying in someone's apartment."

Gorki Apartments, a Design Boutique Hotel Berlin, Germany

"Welcome to the Gorki Apartments Berlin. We are the place to come for those who would rather really experience the city instead of just visiting it. Feel at home and enjoy the moment, brought to you by the Gorki. With 35 individual apartments and two large penthouses the Gorki is a unique venue that reflects the character of Berlin-Mitte, but at the same time adds to it. A place where the charme of the "Kiez", the neighborhood, is distinct while always remaining open for change. Guests mean a lot to them. They want them to be comfortable and feel at home. Some say this shows in the arrangement and the design of the building. Each apartment of the Gorki is uniquely designed with bespoke colour schemes, materials and furniture so every visitor can enjoy their own personal retreat." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Gorki Apartments (Berlin, Germany) 26 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Put simply, it’s the sort of hotel we’ve been wanting to see from Berlin for a while. (It’s a tough business; we know these things take time.) Built in a 19th-century residential building in Mitte, the district that’s still right in the mitte of everything that matters in Berlin, the charmingly oddball Gorki Apartments are just what the doctor ordered: a proper hipster hotel without any of the off-putting try-hardness that sinks many a similar effort." - Tablet Hotels

We loved our stay at Gorki Apartments. ||||We arrived early (before the official check-in time) and were greeted warmly, checked in quickly, and offered anything we would like to feel comfortable. Throughout our stay, all of the staff members were always friendly and helpful.||||Gorki is near nice restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, and public transportation. It is a safe and comfortable location to base your visit to Berlin.||||Our apartment was large, comfortable, and quiet. It included a kitchen area with a coffee maker and teapot (with coffee and tea provided). The windows opened up to downtown Berlin, providing views, lighting, and airflow.||||The bed was comfortable, and the shower was great. The bathroom lighting for the mirror needs to be much brighter, and the foam couch was too low.||||We highly recommend Gorki Apartments.||

We had a stressful trip to Berlin but the moment we arrived in the courtyard here we took a breath and relaxed. The staff here was AMAZING from reception to housekeeping, we were so well taken care of. Our apartment was spacious, spotless, and almost too relaxing - we barely wanted to leave! This was the last leg of our trip and we truly enjoyed the big fluffy bed and spa-like bathroom complete with robes and slippers. Although the apartments are located on a bustling street, it is very quiet in the rooms. The place is conveniently located by a subway station, but we also were able to walk to many of the places that we wanted to visit on our trp. There are tons of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops right outside the door and a very nice supermarket less than a 10 minute walk away. I can't say enough good things about this property and the people who work there.

Our’s was a last minute booking for a wedding anniversary city break. Not knowing much about Berlin, we followed online suggestions about the best places to stay for those unfamiliar with the city, and most guides recommended the district, Mitte as it’s close to the best known historic and cultural sites for newcomers. ||We very nearly booked other places to stay but a slight adjustment on the budget parameters for our accommodation and Gorki Apartments popped up in the list of suggestions. ||It’s a fabulous place … while all the apartments are unique, ours (Schulze) was great even though I suspect it’s not even one of the “nicest” rooms. I was a bit puzzled when we had to go through the bathroom in order to get to our bedroom/kitchenette, but it turned out to be a really smart use of the space. Room accessories were good quality - from Dyson fans (the rooms are not air-conditioned, but this is common in Europe) and hairdryers, to a dishwasher and fridge in your kitchen. Complimentary coffee pods and teas are refreshed daily … so it allowed us the independence to sort our own breakfast out before early starts to see the city. ||As others have said, you couldn’t choose a more central spot to travel around, the underground is metres away and the tram just on the doorstep. ||It’s a pretty grown-up space for people who like a bit of independence when traveling. But they still offer a concierge service for those who want to be a bit spoilt on their vacation. ||Our room had windows into the inner courtyard, so we weren’t bothered by the traffic noise that those facing the main street might. The only thing out of the hotel’s control is the conscientiousness of other guests if they choose to hang out in the courtyard and talk loudly, which we had on a couple of nights as we had our windows open. This is also where smokers sit, so we had cigarette smoke drifting into our room some evenings too. And it was garbage collection day one night so the wheelie bins stored in a section of the courtyard were super noisy early one morning when they were wheeled out over the cobbled paving, for collection on the main road. ||But overall, it was a great find and we enjoyed our stay, thank you

My stay at Gorky Apartments was absolutely fabulous. The apartment itself was stunning—the aesthetic and design, the high ceilings, the super comfortable bed, and all the thoughtful touches like a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules, bathrobes, slippers, and both a shower and bathtub in my room. Everything is designed to make you feel at home. The staff were amazing—so kind, welcoming, and attentive. And the location couldn’t be more perfect. Truly a flawless stay, I’d highly recommend.

We loved everything about these apartments. The vibrant location was convenient for public transport and the centre of Berlin. The stylish apartment had everything we needed. All the staff, without exception, were great. - Always friendly, cheerful and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Gorki Apartments are great – it was our second time staying here.||Last year, we had a room facing the courtyard, which was very quiet. However, this year our apartment faced the busy street with lots of pubs, trams, and general noise. At night it was especially loud, and since there is no air conditioning in the room, we had to keep the windows open. I would definitely recommend adding A/C to this apartment (the outside temperature was only 24°C, yet it was still very hot inside – we can only imagine how it must feel in the middle of summer).||||Another improvement would be a sofa in the living room. The apartment has two rooms, which is great, but the only place to sit is the large dining table. A comfortable sofa would make the space much more enjoyable.||||Also reduced stars for bad smelling towels upon arrival.

Stayed in Gorki in room Leo Sommer for the Berlin Marathon.|Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, from location, to amenities, comfort and style.|The room had everything we needed and was surprisingly quiet given that it’s in the heart of a city with a very popular bar downstairs.|We loved popping to nearby neighbourhood P.Berg to find great restaurants and shops.|Thank to all the staff for an excellent stay. If we ever return to Berlin, we will no doubt stay here again.

Gorki Apartments is a true gem in the heart of Mitte. The apartments are beautifully designed — calm, elegant, and full of thoughtful details. From the cozy furnishings to the little touches like quality coffee, fine teas, and carefully arranged amenities, everything feels considered and welcoming. The location is perfect, surrounded by great cafés, restaurants, and easy transport links, plus a lovely yoga studio right at the doorstep. The team goes above and beyond to make you feel genuinely cared for. Highly recommended — I can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
We have stayed at Gorki 3 times in about 2 years. It is our go-to housing when in Berlin's Mitte district. The staff is fun and responsive. The laundry service is great and fairly priced. The rooms are distinct, fun, and classy! It really feels like our home away from home (currently Northern California). The location could not be better. There are so many great restaurants with food of all kinds. Whether you are looking for an amazing brunch or late night snack (or full meal) you are covered! Transportation is right in front. Also, when we stayed Gorki had free Fritz Cola!!! We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Do not stay here in the summer. Rooms do not have AC and are ridiculously hot and stuffy, especially the larger rooms. Also, some of them smell bad. When I tried to get a change their response was "it doesn't smell that bad" and "its your fault for not knowing they were going to be this hot." The people at the front desk and the management was incredibly unhelpful and rigid. This place has the price of a luxury hotel but the space and the service of a budget hotel. There are much better deals and nicer/larger places elsewhere in Mitte.

Yelp
Gorki Apartments offers the best of what you would get in a nice AirBnB (a studio apartment with a fully stocked kitchen) and a hotel (housekeeping service, front desk, consistent and predictable service and quality). Even though there is no restaurant or room service, there are plenty of great food options nearby. The beds are comfortable and the shower easily runs hot water with good water pressure. We really enjoyed our stay at this place. That said, there are a few aspects of our stay that could have been better. Two members of our party had a room in the back building, which was nice and quiet; their windows looked into the courtyard. Our room was in the front building, which gave us a nice view of the street, but the noise from the bar downstairs even with the windows kept us up (it's more loud at 2 am - 4 am than it is at 10 pm). People talking, singing, laughing, screaming, everything could be heard. We two levels up from the street. We also found ourselves quite hot in the middle of the night even though we turned the thermostat down. Temperature control was challenging for us in both rooms. I think the issue was not so much the thermostat, but the beds got quite warm with use.

Yelp
We booked this place after reading about it in GQ's article about Berlin hotspots. It is located conveniently near the M trams - an easy tram ride (M8) from the Berlin HBF. Several restaurants, bars, and shops were along the same street as well. The reception staff was very courteous and very accommodating - offering us water, yummy cookies, and a map of the city. Of the many apartment options to choose from, we booked a lighter and brighter room. We stayed in the Fritz apartment, which was so clean, beautiful, and bright thanks to all the windows. On the bed was the welcome book and some cookies in a Gorki cookie bag! There was a large bottle of water on the kitchen counter for us, and an umbrella in the closet in case of rain. On the bathroom counter were Dr. Bronner's soap and lotion - products we actually use back home in Denver! All nice touches!!! The WiFi worked perfectly during our 2-night stay. The bed was very comfortable (we used the pillows and the shams while we slept). It definitely felt more like a home to us. We can't wait to come back to Berlin and stay here again.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely fantastic. I stayed here for 5 nights while visiting Berlin. Upon arrival (totally jet lagged after 15 hours of travel) I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff with beverage and snacks. The hotel has an elevator, though I did not use it. Our room was extremely clean, beautifully (and very hip/modern) decorated and well sized. The bath products were great (Dr. Bronner & John Master's Organics) and the full kitchen (no oven/microwave) was perfect for everything from preparing a light snack to full meal prep. The hotel also has bikes available for guests to borrow (rent?). I had no problems with the WiFi connection. My very friendly and social 6 year old son made immediate friends with hotel staff who were very kind, patient (and accommodating!) It became a daily ritual for him to visit and request a game of Pokémon or chat about his day. Though I am certain they had other business to attend to, they always made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The neighborhood is centrally located with tram and U-Bahn stops steps away from the front door. There are multiple restaurants, eis shoppes and two organic markets within a one block radius. A large shopping area is less than 10 minutes away by U-Bahn. If I am ever again in Berlin in need of lodging, this will be my number one choice! Thank you Gorki Apartments (and Freddy and Ben)!

Yelp
Such a cute apartment! Great and attentive service. Quick check-in service and very informative. First time where all my questions where answered upon check-in. Things like wifi info, hours of operation for front desk, recommendations for breakfast, lunch and dinner within walking distance, etc. The rooms all have full kitchens and lovely decor. This is located near a train station and next to many coffee shops and little restaurants. Super cute!

Yelp
This hotel (can I even call it a hotel) is one of the coolest places I have ever stayed at. My boyfriend and I spent 3 days in Berlin, but we didn't want to stay at just any hotel. I can honestly tell you that Gorki is not just any hotel. Even if you look on their website, you can see so many photos of the different kinds of rooms they have. Each room has a different theme! What! I wish I could have switched rooms every night I was there. The interior design was so well done, and the apartment we had was fully stocked with plates, cups, utensils... Every time we came back to our hotel, it felt like we were coming back to our OWN apartment in Berlin. The only reason I took 1 star off is because the WiFi sucks. How is that even possible at a place that charges this price?! Honestly, I would go back though, even if the place had no WiFi...it's that cool.

Yelp
Simply fantastic gem in Berlin. We will stay here every future trip. Great location. Rooms are fantastic and a great value. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Very surprised about all the positive reviews for this place. From end to end I had a horrible experience. The customer service was especially bad. As someone who has traveled extensively (and has posted only positive reviews thus far) this was the worst experience I have had.

Dan E.

Yelp
First off when I look at rating something on a scale of 1 to 5 my evaluation is 1 - Terrible 2 - Below average or need 3 - Average or meets need 4 - Above average or need 5 - Outstanding So for me 3 isn't a bad score and most ratings should be in the 3 range. If everything is 5 then 5 is just average. We stayed at the Gorki for 5 nights and overall I would rate my stay a 4.5 but you have to use whole numbers hence the score of 4. Things I liked *The location. There were restaurants, coffee, gelato right outside. The underground was also right down the street. And it was an easy walk to Alexander Platz. *The room. It was extremely clean and well decorated. *The bed. It was very comfortable. I know beds are a matter of preference. I like something not too hard or too soft. *The staff. They were very friendly and helpful Things I think they could have done better *The pillows. They were flat and not very comfortable. And the fact that the bed was so comfortable made the issue with the pillows even worse. Some nice memory foam pillows would be helpful. *No washcloths. I think this may be a cultural thing, as the place I stayed in Munich also did not have washcloths. However, if you are catering to international tourist you really should provide some washcloths. We bought a loofa for a couple a Euros which sufficed. *The safe. It was big enough for my iPad but there is no way my laptop (15 inch) would fit. *No air conditioning. Not such a big deal for me because I don't like the cold AC air blowing on me, but it might be an issue for other people. They did have nice Dyson fans in the rooms. *Some noise. We stayed in a room facing the first courtyard. We kept the window open at night, and one morning there was some noise, which I believe were deliveries for the restaurant in the front of the building. We closed the window and it wasn't too bad. If you were in a room facing the back courtyard and had the window closed I doubt you would have heard it. Again these are things I think they could do better. However, overall I really enjoyed my stay (4.5 out of 5) and would recommend the Gorki Apartments to other travelers.

Toni M.

Yelp
This is our first time visiting Berlin and the Gorki Apartments are absolutely incredible. I feel like we hit the location jackpot. Beautiful, clean rooms with generous amenities. It's worth the splurge to have such a luxurious stay and be in an area with so much going on. I would return and stay again.

Yelp
I'm from Philadelphia, went to Berlin about 2 months ago, great 5 star hotel, great service, I love the kind employees, restaurants near and transportation, great spot to go shopping also, DEFINITELY IF YOU'RE GOING TO BERLIN and looking for a lofty 5 star hotel this is the place to go!!!!
