My go-to place for quality fish and meat. The staff is always friendly, and I’ve had a great experience every time I come here. Consistently fresh and reliable.

Reading some of these hateful comments. I have been coming to this market most of my life, I’m 67 now. Never ever saw a rat! Was never ever treated rudely! Never got old food! There’s such a fast turnover in food, because they sell out quickly. Their fresh baked Boule bread is heavenly. Lobsters are always good. Produce great! Stay out of Montauk if your so unhappy! We don’t want you there anyway!! This is a family establishment! How dare you spew your hate on hard working honest people. They don’t need your business. Generations!! Having been serving generations. We appreciate you.

We have been shopping here for years. We have always found the food to be fresh, delicious and reasonably priced for Montauk. From local seafood and lobsters to great quality steak, burgers, and desserts, we rely on this establishment regularly and they always deliver. The staff is wonderful- very accommodating and friendly.

Sadly , this place has really flatlined. Not sure who is cooking the prepared foods but it is NOT good. The prepared food tastes old and off...Tried some soup from the fridge, literally no flavor and they sell food past expiration date Prices are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Our fish was literally stinky! had to return it. Not to mention , staff is always stuffing their faces in the kitchen and at the cashier, not a good look. From here went to Petersons in town for fresh fish right off their boats. Definitely will go there first next time. None of the staff can hide the fact they hold great disdain for their customers. A supremely unpleasant experience.

Google
The have the best gluten free chocolate chip cookies and Belgian chocolate brownies made in Montauk

They give you what you want in a cute little store, but you pay for it. Very expensive. Butter was 10 dollars. I liked playing with the lobsters there.

I stop by and grab my whole lobster from here. They cook and crack. Full of meat. This one on the picture $31 for me worth every penny. Next weekend I’m gonna pick another one!

Google
Th watermelon was the cheapest I’ve ever seen with apples at $3.50 each? Someone needs to audit the pricing.

Yelp
The other day we bought 4 pints of frozen chopped clams. Wow! We were over the moon with the quality of them... just superb! The container was full of clean clams and cut the perfect size for our Rhode Island clam chowder. Great prices too! We also tried their crusty bread and peach pie. Bread was delicious and pie crust/filling was perfect! Thank you Gosman's Fish Market for giving us excellent customer service and selling such quality food! We will be back!

Yelp
Still the reigning champ of fish markets, with every day's fresh catch loaded right off the boats. Plus meat, produce and assorted fancy stuff.

Yelp
They have everything you need for a perfect home cooked meal. Beautiful salmon fillets and wagyu strip steaks were amazing. Sesame noodles, coleslaw and seaweed salad were all great sides. Eggplant, red onions, peppers, asparagus and corn for the grill. Heirloom tomatoes (not local, surprisingly!) and basil to go with the burrata we bought at the farmers market. They have a frozen grocery section that looked well stocked, a good selection of cheeses and other things. Other grocery items, like bread and whatnot. Overall an impressive selection for a one-stop shop.

Yelp
Seafood is fresh and they have a good variety but very expensive for things like lobster salad. Actually a better deal to get two lobsters cooked

Hannah H.

Yelp
Picked up fresh sea bass and scallops at Gosman's and had a great experience. Friendly staff helped us pick out the right amount food for our family and the best selections for the day! They also had a great selection of additions and small groceries that we could pick up.

Yelp
Great place to grab fresh seafood and some prepared food. They have some grocery items too. Lobster salad is great not much mayonnaise so you get all of the lobster meat. $46 a pound. Half scoops is half pound. You can make two servings of lobster rolls with it, which is cheaper than $30 for one lobster roll in a restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Don't forget to grab some dessert made in store. The banana bread is amazing. It has chunks of walnut and chocolate.

Yelp
Bring back Holly. Purchased large shrimp salad. Shrimp were hard and tasteless Many broken pieces. . Is someone overseeing these kids prepare the food?

Yelp
The problem in Montauk is the scarcity of high quality restaurants ; so the best bet is to eat at home Luckily Gosman's Retail Fish Market has it all The night before for the Fourth of July we made the most delicious burgers with ground meat bought at the same place : big fat plump meat goodness best eaten with a little fleur de sel in a brioche bun No ketchup mustard or anything else needed But the strong suit of this store is the fresh fish right from the docks So we bought - suchi grade tuna - fluke: for those who don't know fluke and flounder are east coast Atlantic Ocean flatfish with a mild flavor and very soft The tuna was seared simply and presented with a lime wasabi sauce ; it could not get fresher and better than that The fluke filets were gently cooked with olive oil salt and pepper and presented with grilled vegetables With fish of this freshness there is no need for fancy sauces Thank you Gosman's for the quality ingredients

Yelp
The fish is fresh and high quality (if pricey) at Gosman's Fish Market, but steer clear of "Betsy's" pies. Do not be fooled by the gussied-up, bougie white box or the artisan price ($25) or even the warm golden color of piecrust in the package's window. It's like fiber board except that fiber board is ultimately digestible and has some taste, especially if smeared with glue. The "filling" is even worse and, arguably, a misnomer -- at least judging from the strawberry rhubarb we bought. While you can find actual bits of rhubarb from the single stalk that went into it, you would be hard pressed to find a single strawberry or even traces of its DNA in the syrupy red goo that went into this thing. The only way we would ever buy another one is if we had a chance to throw it at Betsy.

Yelp
Gosmans is the best fish market on the eastern seaboard. The fish is wild and fresh. The fluke is my favorite choice along with the little neck clams. The beef Waygu and the barbecue ribs are tremendous. I saw Bruce Springsteen buying fish here last year.

Yelp
They have a very good variety of fresh seafood from fish to mollusks and live lobsters as well as meats, some produce and specialty groceries at this Montauk market at the north docks. Prices are a tad high and the staff are sometimes grouchy but the selection makes up for it. Great for picking up fresh seafood to bring home and cook. I always enjoyed stopping by here and recommend it if you're staying in the area and are doing self catering.

Yelp
I ordered two lobsters prepared. They were absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly. I will certainly be back for seconds.

Yelp
Restaurants in Montauk are crowded, expensive, and wanting for quality -- my family prefers to order lobsters from Gosman's. Fresh, big, cooked to order! We make lobster rolls at home

Yelp
Everytime we go to Montauk, we eat as much lobster as humanly possible, and this is the place to do that. We come to Montauk at least two times a year and have learned to rent places with a kitchen because of all of the let downs at the local restaurants. I mean it's terrible sometimes, just horrible. But we come here for the beaches and the lack of people. So as the hotel chef, I will say that this IS the place to go to buy everything you need for a great meal. Lobsters? They've got a huge selection, anywhere from one to five pounds. Oils, spices, herbs, fresh veggies, meats, fishes, condiments? They've got it all crammed in a barely 400sf shack. I wanted to hate this place because the first time we went there, we missed closing time by 10 minutes, and they coinsidentily missed out on alot of money, but closing time is closing time, so we went to a place called Dulyea's(?), which was still open sold us a couple two pounders. But the next day, craving scallops, went to Gosman's and found, as I said, everything I needed. Had a great meal that night of scallops, seared tuna, asparagus, and Japanese eggplant. The next night, more lobster. So anyhow, everytime we go to Montauk, Gosman's fish market is our go to place for food. Until they piss me off a couple times or I find someplace better, but I don't see that happening...

Yelp
It was big surprise to find this market. They have great quality and selections of seafood! I love their lobster salad. They have bit of everything you might need.

Lori L.

Yelp
Fresh seafood and oalways super friendly staff. Exactly all you need to have an amazing dinner. Also the wasabi cocktail sauce is AMAZING so don't forget to get some shrimp!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great market! It may even be the best in the area. It has fresh produce and gourmet marinades and spices from all over the world. The seafood here is super fresh. If you are looking for a whole fish, ask! We didn't see any whole fish and we asked. A few minutes later, we got a 4 pound sea bass basically right off the day boat... it was as good as it gets! We also got some great steamers at a very reasonable price too.

Yelp
This seafood market is awesome - they have a wide selection of seafood, including sushi-grade tuna, and most of it is local. Bonus points for also carrying fresh produce, like delicious heirloom tomatoes, so that I can minimize my grocery shopping time and maximize my beach time. Be careful in the parking lot - I nearly got run over by a pickup truck full of lobsters. Would not have been a pleasant way to die.

Yelp
After being a loyal patron almost every day for the past 4 months, buying fresh fish, lobster, and produce, imagine my surprise when we got some tuna that tasted metallic. When we tried to return 1 of the 2 pieces we purchased (with the printed price on the label) we were told "this fish is fine" and after some discussion we were offered another piece of fish the weight of the 1 piece we had returned. Not a full credit...It seems their motto here is "THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT!" I will be doing all my seafood purchases from now on at DURYEA'S. I suggest you avoid this place until they learn how to treat customers.

Julie K.

Yelp
Fresh seafood. Fish and shellfish right off the boat. Excellent selection. Friendly folks. What more do you need?

Alia G.

Yelp
**WARNING TO CUSTOMERS: BE AWARE WHEN CASHIERS ARE RINGING UP YOUR ITEMS.** I experienced twice of being RIDICULOUSLY overcharged from Gosman's Fish Market. The customer doesn't get an itemized receipt, so you can't see where the cashier cheats you. Management needs to train their cashiers at entering prices ACCURATELY or upgrade their systems to make it easier for them.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! Hands down best food store in the Hamptons. Pricey but EVERYTHING is out here.... fresh farm produce, freshest fish right off the fishing boats for real. Holly the owner is amazing, really knows a lot about fish and food in general. Surprising vast selection of European cheeses, stocks ABSOLUTELY everything a good cook requires. "clean" meat and poultry. Deli case always looks sooo delicious, unique tasty salads, quinoa kale salad in the best dresssing, freshest tasting tuna salad. Love coming to this place, friendly staff. Wish they were open year around.

Yelp
You can leave this place with everything you need for an epic meal (including meat, and fresh baked bread).

Yelp
The people who work here are great and it's well-run. my favorites: striped bass, seaweed salad, delicious local cherries and corn, nori and everything to make sushi rolls. You will find lots of imports and there are also homemade pies, vegan-friendly frozen items like cashew-based ice cream and veggie/black bean burgers so it's pretty eclectic. They will do lobster bakes for you ordered ahead of time, and often they have BBQ baby back ribs cooked and ready to take out (how I feed meat-eating guests).
google avatar

Maia D.

Yelp
Fresh seafood market - lobsters, clams oysters local fish (monkfish, sea bass, flounder) baked goods (pies, cookies, granola) and prepared foods (shrimp salad, potato salad) reasonably priced and fresh.

Marie N.

Yelp
this is the best place in montauk for fish. we used to go often, almost daily. but the women owner is so rude to non locals, its such a bummer. will be bringing our friends and family elsewhere.

Yelp
staying in Montauk, very convenient if you want to cook in for the night. Great sea bass!

Yelp
i love that places like this still exist. they bring their catch in, process it on-site and get it in the cases the same day. ultra fresh, wonderful quality. they also carry some great local produce. some of the convenience items are super expensive, but that is to be expected at a small specialty shop.

Michael E.

Yelp
Great place to bring the family especially if you have children. Great view on the dock and great to walk around and go to the little shops and watch the boats pull in to the marina. Food is iffy I wouldn't go there just for the food but it has a great atmosphere.

AnnMarie S.

Yelp
Fantastic gourmet food market in addition to fresh local fish market. They have everything you need for a gourmet meal from start to end!

Yelp
Gosman's has been open for years and years. I have always had good seafood from Gosman's. Flounder can get pricey at times but overall were paying for quality. Great staff, good seafood and good prices.
