Traditional polish food, served fast and hot. The atmosphere in the cellar restaurant bar was excellent, very old with tons of tradition. Good prices and excellent choices of beers and drinks... Recommended place by me

Google
"Paradise of the poor". Watch out "cash only". The cheapest Polish restaurant in the Stare Miasto zone except some fast-food stores. Portions are very satisfying. But check your wallet before ordering!

Google
food is amazing, but smaller portions than a few years ago. about average price and great atmosphere. the service isn’t as great as it used to be. nobody smiles and the waiters look very tired. cash only. overall, still nostalgic and a good meal

Google
One of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in Krakow. No frills Polish dishes that are authentic and priced right. Nice cellar atmosphere and nice selection of beers.

I went to this restaurant in 2016 when on holiday. And went again today 18/5/23 while on holiday again. And I must say I was never disappointed. It is a fantastic restaurant. Super delicious food, great value and the staff are awesome. The place has brilliant character. The food here is to die for. Highly recommended.

Google
Nice cozy place with a great atmosphere and good and honestly priced portions. With a caveat: only cash payment. This is a major drawback in 2025, and most of the reason for not giving a higher rating.

Walked into the restaurant at early dinner time, not greeted, not welcomed at all...after couple of minutes we were given an A4 paper sheet menu....no communication what so ever, while only couple of tables have been seated around us...just looked at each other after waitress left from the table again....and without even saying anything to eachother, we stood up and left the building...no good by back at us of course. Did not order anything.

Delicious home made food. Very similar to polish bristo polish restaurants. Don't let the upstairs fool you, this place has large down stairs with multiple rooms and big bar. So upstairs may look empty, downstairs is booming with life. Highly recommend for food and drinks.

Yelp
We were convinced to try this place on our way to the Pinball Museum in 2020. We were starving after exploring Krakow during the Shanties Festival at which we were performing. The waitstaff was very friendly, the food was absolutely delicious and very affordable (I had stuffed cabbage - yum!). I am so glad we stumbled across this great restaurant.

Yelp
How about that ride in? Haha jk but seriously it was a long ride. Took a 7 hour Ukrainian bus from Prague with lots of Ukrainians along with my roomie and leader. It's my first time in Poland and I'm elated. We get off the bus these little rascals started throwing pierogis at us. They had really strong arms and it kinda stung but the pierogis were delicious. New paragraph. We are visiting krakow and our polish colleague and also one of my roomie's followers will be joining us. She's polish so she knows all the hot hip poppin rockin joints in Krakow. This place, Kiki was one of her recs along with a shoe cobbler "you literally cannot miss" (her words) and the polish fax machine museum. Adrian wojnarowski. My leader had one of the best bouts of diarrhea she's had in a long long time. Reminded her of the good old days in her words. It was refreshing (her words) Thank you Kiki, 4 stars. Luckily there was a diaper store next door. We all bought

Yelp
It is what it is. Basically, an eatery for students. The food is cheap but nothing to rave about. My sister said her kotlet was awful. On the flip side, my friend said they serve delicious pierogi. You be the judge. They have two levels. The upstairs area is the smallest but if you climb down the stairs into the basement you will find several large rooms. Once you find a table you can go stand in line to order and your food will be brought to you. This might seem obvious, but you must order food from the same room that you are seated. If you go there during dinner time, good luck finding a seat, it can sometimes be a challenge.

Yelp
This place was recommended to my friends and I by our hostel hostess. It looks small from the outside but there are many different rooms and floor levels. They have a bar and restaurant. They serve traditional Polish food and specialize in chicken. They have an english version of their menu and I was able to pay with my credit card. We came here for dinner and it was delicious. I had water, soup, salad, and a main dish for 18 ZLOTY (which rounds up to 5 USD). My friends also enjoyed their meals.

Yelp
What a wonderful place! We found this restaurant on Yelp, and it was crazy!!!! Such wonderful food!!! I really recommend it! Please note it is cash only (ATM just across the street)

Yelp
Quaint, no-frills restaurant off of the main square with cheap prices, cozy ambiance, and "old world" decor. You order at the front and get your own silverware, but the food is sufficient for the prices. Not the best pierogis I've had but tasty nonetheless; and the cabbage rolls were really good. You don't come here for the service, although our server was nice and responsive when we asked her a question.

Yelp
Gospoda Koko it's a perfect place to have a FULL breakfast for the less money. 12 zl and you can choose between scrambled eggs, sausages or French toast with Nutella and honey. Coffe is included too! Each Salty breakfast is served with a dish full of salad, ham, cheese, a basket of bread, butter, jam and honey as well, so if you have decided to take your first meal here, just make sure you can stand up of your chair after this!! :) I love it as well because it's very close to the market square (main square) and the restaurant has a beautiful backyard where you can eat a outside.

Yelp
The bar has opened just this week and I thought it would be a small copy of the one situated in the old town. It is not. It's a dumpling place. The good: It is fast, and located in the heart of Kazimierz. The bed: They serve very limited amount of dumplings, and when I visited didn't have most popular one - 'pierogi ruskie'. The 'barszcz' is served in a cup and wasn't good at all. The ugly: You get to eat some paper with your dumplings. Literally paper. For fruck sake... if you serve stuff in paper dishes at least make sure it's decent quality. Every each of my dumplings stuck to the plate and didn't come off without ripping it off with some paper. Hope it gets better soon.

Yelp
Traditional Polish comfort food: that's all we asked for after a long day of travel. The space was decorated with vintage decor and had a warm nostalgic feeling. Instead of being shown to a table, we were told to sit anywhere (there were more seating downstairs and a bar). English menus for their pierogi dumplings were provided, but it was still difficult to identify other dishes on the main menu. Their tomato soup and dumplings were the perfect meal for a chilly evening! A lot of other guests ordered soups with another menu item, so we did the same. Since most of the food wasn't too filling, it was a nice chance to taste different dishes -at cheap prices too. Next time we want our soup fix here, we have have to remember this place only takes cash!

Yelp
A good, solid place for traditional food, recommended to me by some locals. The food was good, but perhaps I'm generally not that into Polish food. On the plus side, the decor is fun, as is the menu, and I like the people-watching there. It's a cozy little place. The prices are very reasonable. I have a vague memory that the bathrooms were small but usable and clean.

Yelp
This place is a small diner style. You order at the counter and pick a table. All of the dishes were very affordable and the food was great! Several different types of pirogies to choose from. They even had a menu in English!
google avatar

Yelp
Very affordable and generous portions - breakfast for two people was 24 zl, and it was quite nice!

Yelp
A cheap, no-frills place for traditional Polish food. The pierogis were great, but the meats in the main dishes were a bit dry and flavorless. You can get a soup, side of potatoes or fries, and an entree for just 15 złoty - which is insanely cheap for such a large meal.

Yelp
CHEAP and I mean CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. & food was so good Cheapest & Tastiest sit down restaurant in town. Low key and tucked away in an alleyway meaning you will get great authentic food. we got lost even with data and Google maps. We had their peirogis, lunch special, golbaki. All unbelievably cheap and so delicious. We went 2 times during our trip and I wish we had time to go again.

Yelp
Koko is probably the cheapest eatery in the Old Town. As such, it's insanely popular. Even at odd hours the place can be totally packed. You typically have to wait for a table to open up. And you won't always be able to order the dish you want, especially in the evening, because it's sold out. For just 14 zł, you get a soup and a main dish. The soups are always excellent here. The pierogi are usually decent. The meat dishes, on the other hand, tend to be average at best.

Yelp
Really good old fashioned food. Big hunks of meat, chips and cold salads. That's the essence of this place with a range of chicken and pork dishes and a couple of options for your potatoes. It's a small establishment that is often full, but don't worry. The turnover is pretty quick as people are often simply dropping in here on their way home from work. Prices are phenomenal for the amount of food you get. The full portions are too big for me, but it doesn't really matter because it's so cheap. 14PLN for a soup and main with side salad. Awesome value, fantastic taste.

Yelp
I'm a regular visitor to Koko. The restaurant serves mostly traditional Polish cuisine at a very reasonable price. Usually there are "meal deals" whereby you can get a soup and a main course (served with a side dish of "surówki" shredded vegetables should you so desire) for 14 Zloty. The drink prices are very reasonable too, with draught Tyskie at only 5 Zloty, with bottled beers around the same price. I usually opt for Green Mill cider, which is only 6.5 Zloty rather than the 9 or 10 you would pay in most places. Sometimes there can be a bit of a queue for food, but once you've ordered it arrives really quickly. Quite often the credit card terminal doesn't work and you have to pay cash. The restaurant seats about one hundred people in four different rooms (three downstairs), one upstairs and a patio area. The food is generally pretty good, there is a new menu each day and as things run out they cross them off the menu. Ribs, I usually find, are rarely available when I go there in the evenings, but the menu has quite a few other meat options.

Yelp
The place located nearby the main square that is worth visiting. Very good lunch options for two course meals for low prices. It looks quite small from the outside but there are plenty of seats downstairs in a typical brick basement. I will definitely recommend it to everyone and I will come back again!

Yelp
This place gives you a tone of quality food for an insanely good price. I really miss the heartiness of the Polish food.:(

Yelp
I love coming here. I first discovered this restaurant/bar a few years ago when I was first travelling to Krakow, and I always make sure to come back everytime I'm in town. Authentic and tasty polish meals. Very cheap!

Yelp
I looove this place! The food taste home made and it's delicious! Every time I visit Krakow I make sure I stop by and always recommend the place to everyone I know! Food is delicious and very affordable and it's located near main square! You will not find any other place that is so reasonably priced so close to the square!!!!! Don't get fooled by the looks of the inside and long lines to place the order, your food will be brought out very fast!

Yelp
We came here on a recommendation for the best pierogi in Krakow and we were not disappointed. We shared the Ruskie (potato and cheese), Mieso (meat) and Spinatki (not sure on the spelling - but Spinach and Feta). They were amazing. The pierogi dough almost melts in your mouth and each pierogi is seasoned perfectly. It's a very casual place, no frills but amazing food. We also had the barscz czerwony (again, my Polish spelling is very bad) and it was very tasty. The food is wholesome and inexpensive, I'll definitely be going back on this trip.

Yelp
Awesome spot for a polish feast. Dinner was fast and cheap. If you're and English speaker, just ask the person behind the counter for a translated menu. Solid pierogis and fantastic soup.

Yelp
The service is non-existent: you have to do everything yourself. With foreigners are not kind. But the value for money is extraordinary. We ate well and spent very little. I advise it.

Yelp
Amazing!!!! It was recommended to me, and I will definately recommend it to others. The basic peroghi were absolutely amazing. I don't think any will ever compare.

Yelp
A little tricky to find, but worth it. Amazingly inexpensive. If you're ready for home style polish food, then you're in luck! Make sure to check out all of the dining rooms. The ground floor is more like someone's kitchen table (lots of them), lower levels are oh, so cool.

Yelp
Great location for a cheap lunch menu (until 3am, that is!) - soup, main course and a small side salat cost as little as 10 Zloty. Dishes are always prepared fresh and taste very good. Its my favourite place for rosól!

R K.

Yelp
The rating is for the way they treat tourists. The food is super, but they are so rude to non-locals. I found a few places in Poland like this, but they were the worst.

Leif D.

Yelp
Lame. Can't speak to the quality of the food because I never got any. I walked in and waited to be seated but was not even acknowledged by staff. I finally made eye contact with a server and gestured to a table, asking if I could sit down, but she literally just ignored me and went back to what she was doing. I'm not sure how they make money with that sort of business model but maybe ignoring customers is their shtick.

Nicolas B.

Yelp
Get lots of yummy Polish food for a very cheap price, only down side is staff are rude, but if you can put up with that you should definitely go there

Qype User (eremjo…)

Yelp
A modern version of the old Polish "bar mleczny" style subsidised cantines. It's clean and tasty with very affordable prices. Open until 3am at times. Polish food is not bad here (a bit cheap in ingredients though, wattery soup..) but bear in mind that this is a place to come, gab a bite and go. Not a restauant to take a girl out to. I still enjoy it though.
