Gostilna pri Hrvatu, Branko Slamar s.p.

This was one of the best places we have eaten at in Slovenia. We have been visiting for over 20 years, and the culinary offerings in Slovenia have improved massively in that time, so to find a restaurant that really stands out was a joy and a surprise. We found the place on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. Wow, were we happy we found it. Lovely food, well presented and still amazing value. We will definitely go back on another visit. A note of caution, however, we did not book, and we were really lucky to get a table because we got there quite early. We would definitely recommend booking to avoid disappointment.

Delicious food and excellent service! I spent three nights in the area and had the pleasure of having three different meals here. Every meal was fantastic! The staff were incredibly professional and friendly, explaining each dish in detail and speaking fluent English. Over the three visits, I tried the red trout (my personal favorite), pork tenderloin, and a wild boar dish. I also had the seasonal pumpkin soup and the mushroom soup, both of which were outstanding—especially the pumpkin soup! Each time, the staff also helped me pair my meal with a glass of wine.

The best dining experience in Slovenia! Our airbnb host, Samo recommended this place to us saying it’s his favourite. Every dish was so yummy I can’t describe it. Pork cheek with mash was the best. Waitress was so pleasant and sweet. Thank you so much!

What an amazing place! My wife and I visited this restaurant in a short notice and we were more than welcomed. The food was amazing and super fresh, every bite was superb! The service is above expectations and with the lovely mountain view, you couldn’t ask for more!

The food is deliiiiiicious! 35 euro for a decent three course meal is very affordable. This restaurant has over a hundred year history. (Despite the main building was rebuilt less than 2 years ago, so it looks modernized.) it is located next to a river at the bottom of hill. The view and atmosphere are great match to the food.

i think they switched kitchen style recently. its a picturesque place in a small village. we we‘re looking for some local lunch options and got suprised by actual fine dining. they offer 3 course menu for 35€, which was absolutely resonable for the quality of the food. simply delicous and great options. crazy good.

Best restaurant in Bohinj! Really worth visiting. Great value for money. Every time we are in Bohinj, we try to stop there for lunch or dinner because the food is always delicious. They have something different to taste every time - they often change some things on the menu to adjust it to different seasons of the year, which means allways fresh local ingredients. As said before they are the best! You won’t regret visiting this restaurant.

Definitely some of the best food we had in Slovenia so far. The trout dumplings/ravioli were one of the best things we've had in any country! Very affordable, wonderful service too.
