Gostilna Skaručna

One of my best food experiences. We were lucky to have a vegetarian in the group so we could taste the best of the two worlds. The owner/chef's charisma and dish presentation put the service to the next level.

Okay.. That was experience worth paying for! I enyojed every second of our 7 hour dining experience. The owner is really good, funny, goofy guy with whom you can chat, drink and eat while you're there. He will also put on a show while he'll prepare food directly on your table. Ambient was also something else with old school EVERYTHING. Uniquely authentic Slovenian dining experience ever. The food is outstanding in quality of all dishes serving. All guest were entertain by chef serving and entertain character. We all love his energy and food passion. He himself is also a great Som with unique fast confident pouring wine concept. We had 3 soups, salad, trout, pork leg including wine pairing. It took us 7.5 hours from start to finish. It's an experienced with a must recommend to visit for foodie. We can call it a '2 days for 1 meal' place. Btw, he is also a vinyl DJ too😁. What an incredible energy and passionate capabilities he ha shared with us..beautiful..

Homey and rustic restaurant with an retro 80s vibe. Excellent for slow food, local produce dinner. Quiet not overcrowded place. Just do not ask for coffee, it will not satisfy you.

I was there couple of times. But I will never return back. The last experience was quite bad. Owner (cook?) was behaving not correctly to put it mildly. We are also waiting (yes, I know it is slow food dining), way to much last time. Also, quality suffered (last time). So I can not recommend Skarucna anymore. It was a legendary restaurant with a legendary experience for sure. But in my eyes - not anymore. Pity.

When making reservation for 8 men we emphasized that we are meat lovers. At the end we were served a lot of cold dishes with a lot of bread. I won't go into details of every course, food was good but way too expensive for what we got. There are a lot of good restaurants in Slovenia where you can eat even better for less money. For example at Kmetija na Kurenu you would probably die from all the meat for 75 eur per person (just food). I'll point out beef toung with garlic and curd cheese which was exceptional and of course staff (especially Mateja) which was dealing with us 8 guys very good. :)

Gastro journey! Local authentic flavours and unique experience. We came around 4pm and left around 11pm, time passed so quickly. Amazing chef

Bit tight for space, but friendly staff. Reminds me of an old antiques shop, but this one serves food and 100s 12inch vinyls to choose from and play your music. You also get to become waiter for the night! Upgraded rating because as the night progressed, the entertainment got better and better!
