This is one of our go-to places for a delicious lunch while skiing. It’s right on run 59. We love the golasch, spareribs and kaiser for dessert. They also make hay soup which has a following. Absolutely delicious. View is pretty good too.

Food is incredibly delicious! Host was very nice and recommended us what to order. The mixed flower salad accompanied with their homemade sauces was something I never had before and it was very good. Meat was very tender and full of flavour. Cheese board was also very good. The best one for me was definitely the hay soup and their homemade yogurt. Definitely a great experience and I would return again. Best mountain food ever!! Grazie 🥰

Disclaimer not italian, has the hay soup and bread. Sauerkraut was good with ossobuco, meat was tender. I think all the ingredients are sourced from their farm. Good stop while hiking!

Extremely delicious 😋 food. Small portions where quality matters over quantity. The regional dishes are prepared with care and devotion. It's a must on the list of local restaurants, albeit a bit crowded during the season, and you need to stand in line outside. The prices are higher than the competition but it's definitely worth paying more.

Amazing food with herbs and local flowers. The chef was the first to create this cuisine using local flowers and the amazing hay soup.

After a week in the Dolomites, I can safely say this was far and away my best meal. So worth the long hike up to Alpe di Siusi from our hotel! Service was very warm & friendly. But most importantly- the food: The hay soup was unlike anything I’ve tasted before (in the best possible way), and the selection of local cheeses were to die for. Also excellent were the Tyrolian dumplings and the pasta stuffed with nettle & pear. The apple struedel was so good we ordered two more after the first arrived… If you’re trying to decide on a hut to stop at for lunch while exploring Alpe di Siusi- Gostner Schwaige should be top of your list!

We had a delicious lunch here. It was foggy so we wanted to dine inside. We got to sit in the small cabin, so cute. Service was speedy and friendly. The rosenspritz was so good. Light and refreshing. The charcuterie plate was delicious. The meats had a nice smoky flavor. I loved the honey and horseradish served with the cheese. The ravioli with cheese made in house was so tasty. Overall a cute place with a wonderful lunch.

The staff is so nice, and this is a beautiful place to eat. It is very cozy inside. We got the apple strudel with vanilla cream and the goulash with beef. Both were incredible and the perfect meal for our time at Alpe Di Suisi.

Yelp
Hay soup. Think about that. Does not sound appetizing or even real. Well, hop the chair lift from Compatsch, at the top turn left and after a 30-minute meander along a view-spectacular trail, veer off to this "mountain hut" as the locals call these dining oases in the Dolomites. The setting, the building, the tables, the menu...everything is 100% alpine natural. Specialty of the house? No kidding...hay soup. Actually it is a secret recipe of herbs and spices served in bowl that you can eat.... literally. It's a bowl made of the local bread and it is DELICIOUS. There are many other food and beverage offerings to tempt and after an extra long hike, tranquilize happily. We were recommended to this place by the fine folks at Hotel Rosa Eco Alpine, about a five-minute walk from downtown Compatsch. Looking to hike and receive a genuinely unique culinary reward? Climb and find Gostner Schwaige.
