I was there just now with my friends, we started with coffee and a nice breakfast. As an artist, I kinda liked the fact that they have an art exhibition going on just now, the art was amazing, bravo!
Me and my friends decided to go upstairs to talk and, I was working on a small canvas. A lady came out of nowhere and ASSUMED we were not customers? She said "excuse me this place is only for customers" what an absolute dumb thing to say, without verifying first with the staff first. No mam we just go and sit down in random places, because we got nothing better to do? Some people have no people's skills, no customer service skills whatsoever. That was totally out of place and offensive to who we are. I will never go back again, ever!
So the owner answered and I was not able to reply.
-Owners disgusting answer:
" The person you spoke to is the owner - and all she did was ask you if you had ordered anything ... all the rest of the drama is unnecessary. And yes FYI we have people sitting at the lounge without ordering anything - just a reminder - this is a private business - we can ask people who sit in our space if they had ordered something - this is not a public lounge"
My reply to this owner, this disgusting human being:
I do not appreciate your response, i strongly disagree with your version of the events. The table next to us heard you and my friends too, everybody.
What you're saying is simply not true. You approached us and did not just ask whether we had ordered something, you told us that the lounge was reserved for customers, implying that we did not belong there. This was said in a tone that was condescending and dismissive. You racist.
We were there to eat, and we did order. We came to enjoy a meal and spend quality time together, not to "lounge," as you put it. Your response here only confirms the lack of customer service and professionalism we experienced during our visit. It's disappointing to see a business owner dismiss valid concerns as "drama" rather than taking accountability.
You can try to frame it however you like, but the truth is that we were treated poorly. You may not see it, but your attitude and behavior came across as rude, prejudiced, and completely inappropriate for someone in hospitality. We are not creating drama, we are simply sharing our experience. Instead of gaslighting your customers, maybe take a moment to reflect on how your actions come across to others. You're just a disgusting human being.
