"Explore the extensive collection of Nordic art including the dark works of Edvard Munch, Bruno Liljefors’ wildlife paintings and the so-called “golden age” of Danish painters from the 19th century. International artists are represented with works by Monet, Picasso and Rembrandt, while the local history of Gothenburg's Colorists is also explored. Check the gift shop for photography and architecture books. The small entrance fee also gives you access to the Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg City Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Museum of Natural History."

recommend currently for those who are gothically / apocalypticly inspired as there is a fantastic exhibition on now called Apocalypse & it’s fantastic! queer friendly too as the final exhibition is centred around LGBTQ+ and diverse experiences and was super interesting to see. also free entry if you’re a student - so don’t miss this!

I originally saw the modern and contemporary works on the lower floors and I'm returning to see the classic works on the top floors this morning! Super helpful English speaking (naturally as it is Sweden?!) staff in the ticket office. A dysfunctional restaurant arrangement where they ignore you as it does not really function as a cafe so ignore the sign that says cafe.Small shop. Decent toilets. Slightly confusing layout of lower floors! I returned to see the top floors a few days ago!

An amazing museum!! One of my favorite art museums💗the apocalypse exhibition was fantastic, as well as the permanent exhibitions. The museum was also free for students, which was fantastic. Highly recommend!!

I really enjoyed my visit to the Göteborg Museum of Fine Arts. The museum houses an impressive collection of works ranging from old masters to contemporary artists. I particularly appreciated the Nordic paintings and masterpieces by Monet, Picasso, and Rembrandt. The layout of the exhibitions is well thought out, and the explanations provided help to better understand the context of the artworks. The atmosphere is calm and perfect for admiring the paintings. Additionally, the building itself is stunning, with its grand architecture and ideal location on Götaplatsen. Overall, it’s a must-visit place for art lovers in Göteborg!

Well organized, neat, relevant. A pleasure to visit, spent over 2 hrs over the 4 floors. There is a very good book store as well. Easily accessible via public transport. Several coffee shops in the vicinity for 'fika'(a traditional coffee and cake break). Money and time well spent. See you again!

It was an awesome experience visiting the Museum of Arts. It's full of paintings and sculptures. Can take around two to three hours to explore. On museum day, tickets are free for several museums around the city.

You can comfortably explore the museum in about 1.5 to 2 hours. The layout is well-designed, with just the right number of installations and pictures, so you won’t feel overwhelmed or exhausted while enjoying everything it has to offer.
