A beautiful garden dedicated to a diverse collection of roses, showcasing various varieties and colors in one place. The garden hosts an annual rose show, showcasing the best blooms from across the region. Visitors can explore well-maintained pathways surrounded by vibrant rose bushes, creating a visually stunning experience. Staff should be appreciated for the maintenance of the Park. Each rose plant is scientifically named watch out for that.. The calm and scenic atmosphere makes it a must visit place on your itinerary when you come to Ooty. Parking space is the problem and there is a nominal ticket fee collected at the entry point.

A very well planned, designed and maintained garden exclusively for Roses... With over 100's of varieties its a feast to our eyes... Kudos to the department officials and the numerous staff members who work tirelessly for the upkeep of this vast area... The garden layout is designed over 4 levels... With well planned layout of variety of rose plants... The staff are courteous... And knowledgeable about the plants, etc... They patiently answer to our queries... Only thing is you should be able to converse in the local language - Tamil. They also have a sles counter... Selling a range of saplings... A definite must visit place... For a calm, serene time... With nature blooming....

Visited in the last week of June 2025. Entry fee of 75 per adult is a little steep considering due to the weather, the roses are hardly in bloom or appealing. The place does have a serene feeling but possibly during the flowering season it would be really worthwhile. The amount of rose species is really amazing. Possibly a spot to be skipped during the rainy season to invest the time and money in some other travel attraction.

The government rose garden is located inside the ooty city. This garden has good space with different type of rose plants I went in October and found the flowers and plant are dried up The price we are paying for entrance is not worth I would recommend botanical garden better than rose garden

We visited the Government Rose Garden during our trip to Ooty in June. The garden is beautifully maintained and quite expansive, offering a peaceful environment for a stroll. However, since it was not peak blooming season, there were only a few roses in full bloom during our visit. The entry fees are Rs. 75 for adults and Rs. 40 for children, with additional charges of Rs. 50 for carrying a camera and Rs. 100 for a video camera, which felt a bit excessive. Paid parking is available across the road but is limited. Overall, it was a decent experience, worth a visit if you’re in Ooty, especially during peak blooming season.

The Rose Garden is an absolute delight for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. Spread over a large area on the hillside, it showcases thousands of vibrant roses in every color and variety you can imagine. Walking through the well-maintained pathways surrounded by blooming roses feels so refreshing and calming. The garden is very well organized with neatly labeled sections and plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the views. You also get lovely panoramic views of Ooty town from the higher points inside the garden. The cool climate makes it even more pleasant to stroll around and take in the floral beauty. There are small stalls near the entrance selling plants, rose oil, and other souvenirs if you’d like to take a little piece of the garden home. The entry fee is quite reasonable considering how much effort goes into maintaining such a huge collection. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Ooty—it’s a must-see spot that adds a splash of color and fragrance to your trip!

We visited this place in May 2nd week. There was a flower show going on. 100rs entry ticket here is worthy. They had an aquatic theme this year. There were lot of interesting stuffs here like dolphins, mermaid, fishes, tortoise, snails made of roses. We truly enjoyed our time here. We took some family photo by a photographer. Only problem is you need to walk a long distance. This is far far better than govt botanical garden.
