Mike hosted me and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The place is really nice and full of old antiques. I really enjoyed the vibe of the house. The room was very comfortable and clean. The river is by the place and was amazing to witness during the stay. I recommend it definitely.

Our room was surprisingly spacious with a living room, refrigerator, bathroom and bedroom. The bed was especially divine. The innkeeper, Mike, is one the most generous, kind and friendly people we've had the pleasure of meeting. His patience and deep history with the town and people allows him to answer most questions with ease: where to eat, family stories, who might be able to clean a grave stone. He epitomizes hard work, humility and the value of building genuine relationships. The only minor downside to our stay: it was a little hot and stuffy for us to enjoy the veranda this time of year but the views from it are marvelous. We just walked along the river instead. It would have been a next level bonus to sit out there with windows open enjoying the view, so we'll just have to go back when its cooler.

This wonderful period mansion was the perfect place for our family to stay when we were in Miramachi for the Eclipse. Would also be great for couples. As a family (with pretty quiet kids who are not alllowed to run around and who have early bedtimes) the Governors suite with a master bedroom and a little adjoining room with two twin beds was a perfect set-up. Beds super comfy and I LOVED the sheets. Michael was welcoming and the directions and check-in were very straight forward. Breakfast was continental and had everything we needed. I may send my parents here for a weekend away.

Governor’s graciously hosted members of the Rotary Club of Miramichi for a social event with music and entertainment on July 23, 2024. It was a great experience, with a fantastic caterer and quality entertainment. I would highly recommend Governor’s for anyone looking for a place to stay overnight or host a social function in the Miramichi area.

We had a wonderful stay! When we arrived there was a anniversary card and a bottle of Prosecco in our fridge! Mike was a wonderful host and created a great breakfast basket for 2 breakfasts! He gave us a tour and explained the history of the wonderful Mansion and the grounds. Our room was immaculate and the bed extremely comfortable! Thanks for a wonderful anniversary stay! We will return.

This Inn is not only unique and historically beautiful, it is warm and cozy . The host Mike is one of the most friendly I have ever had. I stayed in “Governor’s Lady” room for a week while visiting family. Last but not least the views of Beaubear’s Island are amazing, especially at sunset.

The mansion is a 10 minute drive from the town on a quiet road alongside the river. It looks slightly tired from the outside but was having some renovation work done whilst we were there. The inside is like entering a National trust house, it's full of antiques and vintage furniture which had descriptive cards explaining what each item was. The bedroom was large with a king size bed, fridge and microwave as well as a decent bathroom. The TV looked vintage with a small screen but did have a supply of films to watch. Breakfast was not of a high quality Not much choice, we were given quiche and fruit on the same plate and offered toast or croissant. The cereal was in jars on the side and it looked like it had been in the jars for sometime. Parking is plentiful and easy. It was an ideal stopover for one night.

After 40 years of wanting to stay at this hotel, as I have frequented this area often , I picked the wrong time to book it. The dining room isn't open due to covid, nor is there any cable tv due to the renos...as advertised by The innkeeper Mike advertised that is an understatement, it's more like under construction. The main floor rooms are full of stuff from other rooms (bathtubs, furniture) that you're not able to enjoy the rooms and the history this hotel offers, not to mention the inch of dust on the furniture as well. We booked for 2nights, but only stayed 1 as we felt unsafe and uneasy. The hallway to our room in the back was unfinished with no drywall, insulation and beams and wires exposed. Our room was "ok" the bed and pillows however were comfortable. After confronting Mike the Innkeeper about our wanting to leave and not feeling comfortable, he refused to work with us for any compensation or to only charge us for one night, claiming he was fully booked yet we were the only couple there. ||||He then proceeded to scream at me when I brought up the dining room and covid restrictions being lifted. He also claimed that our charges were put thru and wouldn't be able to do anything for us and that he's a small business owner, basically too bad so sad that we weren't happy! He is a liar, as he processed my card after we left. ||||Iam so disappointed, that my dream stay was ruined. Rest assured the Miramichi is a beautiful place with beautiful history and people. There are plenty of other places (B&Bs) to stay that are willing to work with the customer. This guy gives Miramichers a bad name!!
