Had a lovely time here. We ordered coffee, pasta, mushroom pastry and lime soda. Everything tasted really good. The flavors are gentle but well-done, and portions are satisfying. Just a note: • If you go for à la carte, you’ll need to order by yourself from the menu. • But on weekdays during lunch and dinner, they also have set menus, so it’s more convenient and you don’t have to think too much about what to choose. Atmosphere is peaceful and elegant as always. A nice place to slow down, chat, and enjoy good food. Will definitely come again. 🌿✨

We have recently stayed at the Governor’s Residence for 6 nights and cannot recommend this historic hotel highly enough. It is a beautiful building, in such a peaceful setting and in an excellent location for site seeing. The rooms / grounds and facilities are very well kept. We enjoyed wonderful meals/breakfasts on the restaurant veranda every day. The service is among the best we have had & the staff attend to your every need and they each went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Would recommend to anyone passing through and wanting some time out.

I’m quite disappointed with my recent stay at your hotel. It felt like local guests aren’t valued as much as others. First, when I arrived yesterday, the security guards didn’t assist me with parking — they were busy talking among themselves. Your staff also didn’t seem very responsive. Even though we politely asked for a late check-out in person with your front office staff, they never responded. Later, when I got sick with a fever and could barely get up, your team still insisted that I leave on time. That said, I do appreciate some things — the view is great, the place is very quiet and relaxing, and the room was exceptionally clean. However, not only the foreigners — we locals also pay the same price and deserve equal treatment. Please don’t be like this in the future. Overall, it turned out to be an unsatisfying birthday experience. I expected better care and understanding from your hotel.

Rooms are spacious and decorated with teak wood and silks, while thoughtful touches like fruit baskets and local sweets add warmth. Dining is another highlight, with the breakfast buffet praised for its mix of Burmese favorites such as mohinga and international dishes. Meals are served on verandas overlooking tropical gardens, creating an atmospheric setting. The fan-shaped pool and lotus ponds add to the sense of escape, but what makes the hotel truly special is its staff, who are consistently described as attentive, friendly, and welcoming. It remains one of Yangon’s finest hotels.

What a treat! Dagon is a quiet, well situated area and very quiet. The hotel has a special charm, beautiful buildings and helpful staff. Excellent food and grounds. Handy for Shewagon and town centre. PERFECT

Where do I even begin….. The Governor’s Residence exceeded every expectation. The hospitality was some of the best I’ve experienced anywhere in the world. The property itself is breathtaking, with colonial-style architecture, beautiful decor, and an atmosphere of refined relaxation. Everything about this place—ambience, service, and comfort—is world-class. I would return in a heartbeat. My heartfelt thanks to the entire team for being so caring when I fell ill, ensuring I was well throughout our stay ❤️

Exactly what a hotel should be! Fantastic stay here - beautiful rooms, stunning setting and a real throwback to old Rangoon.
