A Jodhpur Oasis: The Perfect Blend of Value, Comfort, and Genuine Hospitality.
Our 3 friends' trip to Jodhpur was an absolute triumph, a refreshing departure from our usual penchant for high-end, often unnecessary, luxuries.
We prioritized experiencing the joy of travel over lavish hotels, aiming for true value for money without compromising on cleanliness and accessibility. Our choice, guided by glowing Google reviews, proved to be an inspired one – a stark and welcome contrast to our subsequent Jaisalmer nightmare.
Jodhpur, and this hotel in particular, delivered an awesome experience that left us genuinely delighted.
The booking process itself was a breeze, handled with warmth and efficiency by Jaggi bhai from Mumbai.
Communicating with him felt like chatting with a long-lost relative, instantly putting us at ease and making us feel like we were visiting a cherished family home. A minor scheduling hiccup between our offline booking and an online reservation was handled with remarkable grace. Jaggi bhai's unwavering commitment to customer happiness shone through as he immediately called to apologize, not only resolving the confusion but also upgrading us to a much better terrace room at no extra cost! For just ₹1568, we secured a spacious terrace room with 5-6 beds and the much-needed hot water facility, a phenomenal deal that exceeded all expectations. Luck/Kindness with ethics.
There were no tiresome demands for advance payments at check-in, a welcome change from typical experiences.
The receptionist uncle was a pillar of calm and helpfulness, readily offering invaluable advice on local cabs and restaurants. His guidance to opt for more affordable rickshaws over expensive 4-wheelers for our city tour was a godsend for us youngsters, saving us significant money – ₹700-800 for a full day's rickshaw tour versus a staggering ₹3000 for a cab. What more could one possibly wish for from unknown people in an unknown place?
Beyond the hotel, Jodhpur continued to impress. The forts and tourist spots were well-maintained, even offering convenient water fountain facilities. More importantly, the people we encountered in the hospitality sector were genuinely kind, far from the greedy and deceitful individuals we've unfortunately met elsewhere.
It was an overall good experience, reinforcing our love for Jodhpur.
Our one-day Jodhpur adventure concluded perfectly. With an early morning train to Jaisalmer at 5:30 AM, the hotel's proximity to the railway station was a huge advantage. We simply walked the 300 meters without any hassle of transport bargaining or availability, a peaceful end to a truly fulfilling stay.
I have some contacts of good Rickshaw wala from Jodhpur but not sure if putting their number here might end up with scam calls to them.
In short, this hotel is must visit, value for money, clean and accessible. Good fort view from terrace but the lights are turned off after 10 pm approx. So make sure to are on terrace before the light goes off.
