Gowrie Park Wilderness Village

Just left here after spending 2 Wonderful Days at this gorgeous caravan park at the base of mount Roland. It was picture perfect and it made a fabulous base for us to look around at Cradle Mountain, Sheffield and all the beautiful places of interest that we visited whilst here. Rodney the host is absolutely lovely. So friendly and so helpful and very enthusiastic about the beautiful place he calls home. It’s a smaller park not heaps of sites but it also has cabins and hotel type rooms so a bit of something for everyone. Hubby and I were self contained in our Motorhome so never saw the amenities. It was our first time staying in a budget bunk. The room was small but had everything we needed. There was a bit of noise from the surroundings. The male owner is really friendly and kind. The price is very reasonable. They also sell drinks, ice cream, and frozen food. We ordered the Satay Chicken with Rice, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

This is a great place to stay, so close to hiking trails up Mt Roland and its neighbours. The park has showers, toilets, budget beds, cabins, RV, caravans and tents - powered and non powered. It's right near so many places to be a staging point for hiking and visiting the tourist trails/drives, Sheffield, Deloraine, Moles Creek and more. The management of the park who recently took over, are excellent. They are welcoming and helpful ☺️. They manage the place well and have been kind and made our stay especially festive for Christmas 🎄 so a big thank you to them.

Great value for money option on the way to cradle mountain. Small but very well equipped kitchen. Cabins are terrific. Powered and unpowered sites wonderful. Right at the base of Mount Roland so some nice views too. Excellent access to the mount Roland and Mt Claude walking tracks

We have stayed here before in our caravan, this time we stayed in the cabins. They are affordable but in desperate need of maintenance and a good clean. Didn’t look like the shower was cleaned at all. The games room in a terrible mess. The owners really need to invest money in the caravan park because the location is amazing.

We had a powered site for the night, facilities were clean, games room was alittle old and un-maintained. Saw plenty of animals, mostly Pedemelons, Yellow tailed Black Cockatoo's and Echidnas. Clean toilets which is good. I screams and a small store available le for soaps, tea etc.

Incredibly kind and generous service from the new caretaker team! Such a very positive experience and could not speak higher of the service. What a beautiful spot, thank you for having us! 💛

Clean, simple accommodation in a great location. Great facilities. New management are super friendly and helpful.
