I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for one night with my husband. Our daughter and son-in-law booked three rooms for an adventure weekend. They invited his parents and us. We all drove down on Saturday morning, the 8th from NJ. We met up, got set up in our rooms and headed out for some adventuring at the Naval Academy. We got back to the hotel around 5pm and we all met up in the Trophy Room restaurant on-site. Our waiter/host was Patrick. What an awesome guy! We decided on apps and drinks only and planned to go elsewhere for dinner. All the drinks were great. My daughter ordered a pumpkin-tini, but she needed it without vodka and something else in it - he had the bartender reimagine the drink for her. It tasted great, but the big bang on it was supposed to be a smoke bubble - the new formulation didn't work for that, so he had them do it again, in another way, to make sure she could get that visual! lol The nachos were outstanding! We devoured the tray. The Old Bay wings tasted great too - but being fair - they were so large that they were undercooked in the middle. After trying out another place for dinner (another review later...) we headed back and took over the pool room. Patrick again took care of drink orders for us and checked in with us numerous times.
Time to bed down and really check out the room!
We had a 2 Queen room, our windows overlooked the parking lot.
The room was very clean and neat. The rest room was well equipped with all the necessities. There was a small coffee maker with 4 pods available: 2 decaf, 1 regular and 1 green tea.
The bathroom floor was white tile, and I admit, it was very cold on barefeet, and a bit slippery after a shower.
During our pool table time I went up to drop off coats, and found the room quite chilly, especially considering it was 30 degrees outside! The in-room thermostat was set at 62! I turned that up to 70 and the room came up to temp quickly and remained very comfortable. The beds were wonderful! Just soft enough to "fall" into. I loved the pillows and ended up looking up the brand to purchase at home. The room is decorated so nicely as well, very cozy, but eclectic and fun too. The blinds were nice and heavy and didn't allow any light in over night.
The hotel itself was clean and bright and inviting.
Brunch was back downstairs, with Patrick one last time. He really made us feel like we were regulars. The food was soooooo good! We all left bloated and very satisfied. Even though check out was 11am, there was no issue with leaving our car in the lot while we wandered the downtown shops for a few hours.
I would highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant, and I know we will be back again in the near future.
