From the moment I walked into the Graduate Eugene, I knew I wasn’t just staying in a hotel—I was stepping into a curated experience. The Graduate hotels have a brilliant way of weaving local university spirit into the very fabric of the building. In Eugene, that means being surrounded by thoughtful, nostalgic nods; for instance, the coffee bar downstairs features a wall covered in thousands of real pencils.
That theme carries right into the rooms, I loved the waffle iron lamps (a brilliant nod to Nike's roots!) and the Oregon Ducks wallpaper. Beyond the decor, the room was incredibly comfortable, featuring cozy beds and a variety of pillow firmness that ensured a perfect night’s sleep.
But as beautiful as the design is, the soul of this hotel is the people.
The service here is truly next-level. I have to give a special mention to Rich at the front desk. After his shift ended at 11 PM, he graciously went out to two different locations just to try and find me a pair of reading glasses. That kind of selfless care is unheard of. Along with Lizzete, the front desk team made me feel completely looked after.
The rest of the staff was equally stellar:
• Tyler the bartender was fantastic, keeping the evening vibes just right.
• Tristan and Lanie, my morning baristas, provided the perfect start to the day—I highly recommend their beautiful steel-cut oats with maple syrup.
• Dana, the AGM, who engaged me in a genuine, heartfelt conversation about the world of hotels, travel, and shared experiences. It was a real, warm connection that made my stay feel personal.
If you want more than just a room—if you want a story, a warm welcome, and a bit of Oregon soul—stay here. I’ll certainly be back.
