Le Graffalgar (Strasbourg, Grand Est) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Talk is cheap for some so-called “art hotels,” but the Hôtel Graffalgar has gone all the way, giving local artists a free hand to decorate its rooms in any way they saw fit. Visually, it’s anything but a theme hotel; each of its 38 spaces is entirely distinct, some graffiti-inspired, others steampunk, or forested, or dazzlingly Op-inspired. The restaurant, or Graffateria, is a multifarious all-day affair, and there’s a lounge space for co-working, meeting, or simply relaxing. Strasbourg, too, is said to be France’s most bike-friendly city, and bikes are available for guests’ convenience." - Tablet Hotels

Sadly the reviews do not show the true nature of this hotel. It’s more of a hostel than anything, very tiny rooms, no air conditioning (fans with water and an ice pack that made the already hot room humid.) We could barely breath when we walked in after trying to find something to eat around the hotel. First time in Europe I ever felt unsafe,

Terrible service at the front desk – completely ruined our stay! On June 19, 2025, we arrived at the hotel as guests and parked in the garage. Immediately upon entering, we were confronted by a very aggressive man at the front desk. Instead of greeting us, he started yelling and demanding to know why we had parked in the garage. We calmly explained that we were hotel guests, but he continued to speak rudely, interrupting us, showing zero respect, and even frightening our child. When we asked why he was speaking to us this way and requested his name to report the incident to hotel management, he refused to identify himself. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. We have never experienced such poor service anywhere – this encounter completely ruined our time in the city. We sincerely hope hotel management addresses this situation, as employees like this damage the hotel’s reputation.

It was a great stay during the Christmas Market. The room rate was very affordable, and it was very clean and functional. The best part of this hotel is the staff. Their kindness goes above and beyond. My room's toilet was broken from the beginning of my stay; all available staffs stepped up and truly helped me out (almost made a makeshift fix on the fly), and I was able to stay without convenience eventually. I will book this hotel again in a hearbeat if I get to visit Strasbourg in the future.

Spent 3 nights here. Team on reception are very friendly, helpful and always greet you with a smile. Our afternoon chap had a good choice of music playing. Room was large and had a huge king size bed. Room was very clean and well maintained - not run down or worn. Bathroom was excellent and well fitted out - also very good water pressure. The room had big windows that opened and interesting string art on walls and ceiling. Bed was very comfortable and good pillows. We were here in August, some days were humid - there was no air con in the room but there is a new evaporative air cooler/fan which did the job perfectly (I was a bit…what is this when we first arrived - ‘no air con?’). Location was perfect, not in the heart of the tourist area which meant street was not crowded/noisy. Easy to walk everywhere and the location had a nice bar/restaurant across the street, plenty of boulangerie/bakery options for the morning and eating choices. Another great point location wise, it’s less than 8min walk from the main train station to the hotel.

A hotel with good price. The staff are friendly and speak English. The facilities are simple: no tea cups and toothbrushes in the room - we have three adults living in a room, there is only two set of towels and two tooth brushing cups. A cup of coffee or tea cost two Euros at the restaurant/reception but hot water is for free. Great location (very close to the train station) but its neighborhood is a bit inconvenience (away from supermarket) and a bit unsafe (less passengers and some homeless people on the streets).

Central hotel close to train station. Rooms are clean, practical and artistic. The bad is that Toilet paper is of really bad quality and same with the shampoo/shower gel.|Reception is stated to close at 20:00 and that you are supposed to contact them in advance if arrive later, but I arrived after midnight and could check-in and the reception was also staffed when I came back from dinner the next day.
