Was recommended by one of our SC crew members as the theater had shown his film there. Located in an area that resembles a WWII rehabilitated bombed out target. The theater has a DIY look about it and that is entrepreneurship at its best. Good screen and audio. The most comfortable seats, sofas, are too close to the screen. The regular seats are fine. Very friendly staff. The ticket price is higher than chain theaters, but it’s supporting a small business showing hard to find movies and also is community involved.

I absolutely loved the Grail Moviehouse and everyone who worked there. I am crushed. I would love to get on your site and buy tickets anyway to support you guys. Thank you for making mine and my husband's weekends magical. 🥹

Intimate boutique moviehouse, with a beautiful selection of films: artfully curated and they support Asheville FM (103.3)! Do yourself a favor and check out some of these beautifully curated movies Going to the Grail moviehouse feels like how cinema should be. Seeing art-house movies in an intimate setting. So much to love! You can purchase wine and beer along with the usual assortment of snacks. Local wine and beer is also on offer. Comfortable couch-like seating, reminiscent of a well appointed home theater. The owners and staff are super friendly. The movie selection is wonderful! We have been attending the Academy Award nominated best animated shorts for years there. It was a family tradition, and I begin watching them in San Francisco in my 20s. We have also seen wonderful movies, that you absolutely would not find anywhere else (documentaries on the cats of Istanbul, a beautiful selection of films from overseas and, of course, a couple cult-classic favorite, such as Harold and Maude). I know the selection will always be wisely curated, and that there will be something on tap of the Grail that is incredibly worthwhile. Bonus is that they support AshevilleFM 103.3.

Art house sized theater with a good quality projector and not terrible speakers, however, if it's heavily raining it may be a little harder to hear until it lets up. Concessions are pricey so plan accordingly beforehand. Friendly staff.

A teeny tiny movie house with two theaters. So small they kinda feel like it's a passion project of someone who really, really likes movies. In a good way. They've got beer, wine, and popcorn. They've got other stuff if you don't do popcorn. Get your tickets online and get there 20 minutes before showtime so you have your pick of the theater.

The Grail perseveres…and is perhaps better than ever! In a new River Arts space, nestled in a terrific riverfront neighborhood that includes the “new” Wedge for pre-film drafts. Plenty of great dining options are next door like Rosabee, 12 Bones and the Chop House Food Truck. Best of all, the quirky yet cosy theater screens both mainstream and Indie films, features local beer and wine options at the concession, as well as gourmet ice cream and local popcorn legend Poppy treats, with the main event being a screening experience that features comfy lounge furniture and big screen with commensurate sound in a chic warehouse vibe. Love it!

I can't say enough about how great this theater is. One family member is hearing impaired we were so happy to find out that Grail can run the movies with captions on demand!!! We will probably see all movies there from now on. The theater itself has good seats with some theaters having chairs and love seats.

I was in Asheville for the week and wanted to see a movie. This theater had a lot of good ratings and offered a more relaxed, almost intimate feeling to watching a movie with their unique seating. I found it to be an interesting call back to before reserved seating. And the commercials they run before the movie are actually entertaining and not the generic commercimercials you see in the big chains. The snacks were same as any theater. My typical go to being popcorn and a soda. Both were very good. Overall the whole movie experience was awesome and comfortable. Next time I am in Asheville I will be checking this theater out again.
