This hotel really helped us out of a bind. Our cruise ship was docked across the street overnight and the port was closed by the time we returned from Florence. We were frantic to find somewhere decent to sleep while still clean and affordable. The hotel staff was accommodating and the room was good! Thanks Hotel Gran Duca for helping us!

The Granduca still retains what is obviously past grandeur in its own italian way, though without sacrificing basic amenities as upgrades have been made (AC, fire security, locks, automation) without losing an atmosphere that induces you to play it the hotels way, such as appreciating the lively surroundings (scooter noise) and sitting on the spacious west-facing verandah (many 2xx rooms have them) or enjoying the countless nearby bars and restaurants, including the hotels own. No bugs in my room, everything clean and working well, and I will definitely stay here again when I return to Livorno.

Stayed overnight on business. Couldn't fault the service, really helpful. Nice location and the restaurant downstairs is a really good choice if you don't want to stray too far

Have used this hotel before for business it was ok but not special, I booked two nights. I needed to change booking up by two days as plans outside my control changed at short notice, even though i was prepared to take a Higher costing room they refused to change booking. And I was forced to cancel booking and lost the the full 2 days booking fee. Based on this and the very unfriendly person on the telephone. I will never stay here again and will advise my collegues never to take this hotel when in Liverno on business.

Rooms are comfy and clean with AC. Really comfy beds and showers on the room. The location of the hotel is at a main street, so its pretty noisy in the place even if windows are closed and you definitely need earplugs if you like silence when sleeping, therefore the 3 star review. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and the even have soy milk. Stayed there for one night to travel further south. Very close to the harbour for Corsica Ferries or Moby.

We were allocated a room looking out to Quattro Moro statue and a small marina.|The Hotel has its own restaurant but there is a bar/coffee shop next door which serves cakes and sandwich varieties. This is convenient for a low key breakfast.|The room was expensive (but what isn’t in the current international travel bubble)?|Our room was large with a firm but comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was small but clean and has a hot shower.||Staff at the Reception desk were helpful. It’s a little noisy because it is adjacent to a roundabout but that didn’t affect us

Hotel Gran Duca, a warm welcome and great chat at the reception. Friendly, very warm hearted and hospitality at its finest. The view from the balcony helps to forget the long travel and dining at the restaurant: absolutely recommendable! Just such the place to enjoy Livorno! Thanks Gran Duca, we will come back!

My wife and I stayed one night due to an emergency when we had to disembark from a cruise ship docked nearby. The front desk manager, Gabriel, was exceptionally helpful with our emergency arrangements, including directions to the train station, train schedules, taxis, and hotel suggestions and booking at our next destination. Our room was very clean, spacious, and the included breakfast was very good. Gabriel at the front desk was polite, efficient, professional, knowledgeable, and very sympathetic to our emergency situation. He rates 5-stars!
