The breakfast was very limited. You have to pay for a cappuccino. No bread. |WiFi was good|Cold showers|There is a very tasty bakery across from the hotel|Centrally located!|Rooms were old but clean.|We were passing on our way through so it was an average option.|Wouldn't stay here longer than a night or two

Top 3 of the worst hotels we have stayed in in our 23day tour over Cuba. No hot water. Refrigerator not working, so you can't cool your drinks. Breakfast was bad and the staff didn't care to help us. But when Cubans walked in they where served drinks, that we where not offered, etc. We where offered a welcome drink, but they put the alcohol on top and didn't mix it. When asked to stir the drink, I got some arrogant look and he just put the spoon in the glass, no stirring movement. Beds are of poor quality, you can feel the springs. But that's Cuba and that I don't mind. Stuff like the behaviour of the staff is something that's free and should be good. You won't find that here.

Oh dear - a misnamed hotel - more like the ‘Not So Grand Hotel’.|Firstly, with the help of our lovely taxi driver, we had to drag our cases down the street to the door as there is no vehicular access. Despite staff in the lobby doing nothing, no help was offered - and we were met with complete indifference. No-one at Reception. Eventually the Receptionist turned up - a Soviet style cold ‘welcome’ and clearly customer service unheard of.||Lift up to Floor 3. The room was clean and high ceilinged but still contrived to appear dark and dingy. There is a safe, small fridge and AC, WiFi access given for 10 hours in a 2 night stay - with a decent signal. There were Ill-fitting Shutters and Louvres at the window but no glass, so noise and carousing at night meant that sleep was almost impossible.||Breakfast is on Floor 5 in a vast Restaurant but with only 6 guests to serve. The only thing about the hotel that was good was the pleasant waitress here - and because of her the hotel gains one star rather than zero. Breakfast a poor affair- tiny bit of pineapple, a little papaya (which tasted of onion!), spam and cheese although we did have an omelette which was okay. ||We couldn’t wait to leave.

My sister and I spent two nights here. Yes, it's old, and maybe a little bit funky, but the atmosphere is so authentic that you feel like it's 1930 again. The ballroom upstairs where breakfast is served is beautiful. The rooms are small and the bathrooms also small. AC didn't work very well (mostly just moved air around), so I opened the wooden shuttered windows and doors outside the small balcony of our 2nd story room. The breeze was delightful! If I had a choice between staying here and some sterile Holiday Inn in the USA, I would stay at Gran Hotel. We came to experience Cuba and loved every bit of Camaguey, including the street sounds below our room. Our stay was one of my favorite memories of Cuba.

You certainly cannot get any more central as it is right on the main pedestrian street - although this meant our bus could not park outside so we had to trail our suitcases ourselves a few streets along and the cobbles damaged my wheels.||The hotel itself is very well maintained and beautifully furnished. The staff were attentive and helpful and the breakfast room had a good range to eat and a stunning sunrise as well.||I didn't give it 5 stars as I found my single room to be very small certainly compared to my others in Cuba and was quite claustrophobic. Maybe I was just unlucky with what was available. Smallest room I think I have ever had on holiday!||(the step up to the toilet area was also annoying as was the noise outside)

The Gran Hotel is a real beauty. It is not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable. It has an inside courtyard, a decent pool, and is conveniently located in the town. You can go on a good, safe walk from this hotel. The breakfast is very good, and served in an old ballroom on the fifth floor. The views from the top floor are superb. Rooms are not real big, but they are all you need for a good nights sleep.

I recently stayed with two colleagues at this hotel for a week as part of a European Project Conference. I cannot praise the staff highly enough in particular Dansys on reception who ensured that we had very comfortable rooms for our week long stay. The nicest feature of this hotel and there are many- the pool area, the water ballet, - was the rooftop terrace where early in the morning the opportunity to watch dawn break over the city at the beginning of the day and finally for sundowners at the end of a busy day was superb!!! ||I would not stay anywhere else in Camaguey the location, the quality of hotel and its staff are incomparable!!

We stayed only one night. It is a very nice hotel in the center of the historic center of the city. A very clean city with many places to walk around, we wanted to stay more but we already had reservations in other cities of the island. The service at the hotel was amazing and friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good but the room was what we don't like at all, because they are very old. The most important thing for us was to have good hot water, that was what we needed after a good walk through the city.
