We stayed three nights at the Gran Hotel Diligencias, right in the heart of Veracruz, and it was a wonderful experience.||The location could not be better — the hotel faces the zócalo, with its arcaded terrace the perfect place to sit with a drink and watch the city come alive.||Check-in was smooth, our room spacious with high ceilings, traditional décor, and a large comfortable bed. The thick colonial walls kept the Veracruz heat outside and reduced the sounds of the lively streets below. From our window we could see the white-stone walls and bell tower of the old Catholic church — a view full of history.||The rooftop pool felt like a hidden oasis above the old town, ideal for cooling off in the afternoon.||What really stood out was the staff: always smiling, helpful, crisp uniforms, name badges worn with pride. From reception to housekeeping, everyone made us feel welcome.||This is old-school hospitality done right — timeless, charming, and perfectly located. Highly recommended if you want to feel the soul of Veracruz.
